BADNEAT: Cool. I checked their website, nominations are for people currently resident in the district already. Is there something I am not seeing? I really need to see if I can get an offshore nomination. The only district from my research offering nomination to people offshore is the Northern Territory but looks like it’s currently on hold. I’ll really appreciate more insight. Occupation: Valuer. Thanks. |

Please explain this. "You can only claim points for employment if the employment was in your nominated skilled occupation or a closely related skilled occupation; and you were employed for the relevant periods set out in the table, in the 10 years before you are invited to apply. " The experience was not assessed when doing the assessment with VetAssess in 2019. Just the occupation was successfully assessed with the necessary 2yrs that accompanied the AQF Cert III as Cook. There's employment of over 4yrs in the ANZSCO Unit Group but part of it was used for assessment on VetAssess. In the Australian skilled employment – (in Australia):, can the 4yrs Australian be used for claiming the 3 to 5yrs Australian experience point of 10 or does it mean the experience after VetAssess removed their 2years work experience from the 4 yrs ? |

Electrician assessment is tough most especially with TRA. Also, you will need to go for another stage of assessment in South Africa or UK before you can be successfully assessed as Electrician. If you can find draftsperson Assessment or similar, you should have it better. 2021new: |

Don't bother about Accounting for Skilled Migration to Australia. Although you may look towards study route if Australia is your thing by taking a program that is always going to be important in the next fews years by the time you graduate. Also, make sure the program would not need more than 1yr experience or the one that wouldn't need work experience at all (Engineering blokes are lucky with this). Even as said, you will still struggle with a lot of things to catch up with being nominated. omotola90: |

Hello, Is it possible to get positive assessment with Vetasses for 2 yrs Nigerian experience 2015 to 2017?? Will they give positive assessment with B.Eng and overseas 2 yrs experience? One of my contacts said any overseas degree of BSc must be followed with Atleast 4 yrs experience before a positive outcome is assured. Is this true? I’m assessing as a Project Administrator or Contractor Administrator |

Please... What I want to know is this, the Australian experience was not assessed for points with vetassess but just the qualification and the important 3 years post study experience needed to have a positive outcome. Do you think DHA will approve points for the new "unassessed" Australian experience gotten years after the assessment? LondonBook: |

Good day peeps! Am 32 years, single, medical doctor with 5 years work experience, IELTS GT LRWS 8.5/9/7.5/7.5. Assessment as a doctor could be a long thing, and I will appreciate advice on the options I have for a quick invitation to apply. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 4:49am On Jun 23, 2021 |
Louis09: You can assess for human resource manager. Your husband is working as an educational consultant which is quite different from educational psychologist except he has had prior experience as an educational psychologist in the last 10 years. He will not get a positive assessment for educational psychology. |

OpethomElectric: Are you also an electrician? I will advice that you write PLAB, work in the UK for one year and then use that to move to Australia. |

Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 4:56am On Jun 23, 2021 |
LondonBook: So I understand you, your assessment was completed using the first 3 years of work experience prior to having Australian experience right? If that is so, all experience post assessment that are within the same occupation will count towards experience points. Yes, you can use them for Australian experience points if gotten within Australia. In your assessment outcome letter, VETASSES would have noted two things at least 1. One year qualifying experience deducted from your experience. 2. Experiences not relevant to occupation being assessed will not count towards the assessment. |

Thanks for this reply. The assessment was for Commercial Cookery and it came out positive in 2019 (that time, there was need to have (Nigerian Diploma = AQF Cert III with 3 years experience). As at the time of assessing it in 2019, it was about 4yrs experience so no work experience point was given. Now that there is an extra 3yrs Australian experience [Same work Place and Same Cook], do you think 10points for 3yrs Australian experience is claimable when submitted to DHA without asking for the experience to be assessed by Assessing body ? Thank you for your time. bellong: |

LondonBook: Yes, you can claim 10 points since you are still in the same occupation and same workplace. |
Re: DIY Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa - Part 2 by bellong: 7:43am On Jun 24, 2021 |
BADNEAT: Don't tick you have experience in the last 10 years. Tick no to it. Alternatively, put in the experience you have and tick not relevant so it will not count towards experience point. 1 Like |

izang87: No, don't keep them out of the application. The process to apply for spousal visa is strenuous and more expensive aside that it takes very long time except you are very lucky. They don't have to go with you once visa is approved, only have to activate the visa on or before the deadline for arrival day. Whatever you do, don't leave them out of your application. 2 Likes |
