My passport was issued in 2017 with five years validity period. That means it is dated to expire in 2022. Does that mean the passport will expire at the end of this 2021/beginning of 2022 or till December 2022?

Expiration date mm/yy is always on your passport datapage.

Feedback on my visit to Port Harcourt office today, was at the NIS office by past eight but they didn't start work till 10.am. Saw officers before then running around and attending to their clients. Met an officer to make inquiries about not having being called for interview & capturing despite having submitted my application since last week Thursday. He was surprised and told me I should have been sent a text, asked about the servicom desk and he told me they weren't on seat as at then (past . Met another officer who took down our names (those for interview) to go confirm if they were on their list. Met the officer after having waited for a while and he told me my name wasn't on their list and I should contact the officer assisting me and was asked to leave their office. I was surprised, called the NIS complaint number for assistance, they weren't helpful as I expected. Told me to go to the servicom desk but the NIS security officer at the entrance to the building kept preventing or willing to direct me, I was told by the officer on the phone from NIS complaint line to give the phone to the security at the entrance so as to speak with him. That didn't help cus the security gave back my phone to me ignoring the officer on the other end. The officer from the NIS complaint line told me to wait outside that he was going to get back to me. I waited for a couple of minutes without any feedback and i Just left disappointed ..

Are you sure you are not one of those immigration officers. If anyone wants to go through Maitama, it is the person's choice and it doesn't require any useless agent to help. The reason being that you will still pay about N30k extra and collect it in few hours.

Experiencing same situation now. I searched for my babies passport from the link provided (Captured March 17th). Surname was mixed up with other names and other names given a different surname. I sincerely don't know what to do.

Hello guys, so I went to Ikoyi passport office on Wednesday and I used my reference number to check if it was ready. Apparently the name on the reference number is not my name but another name. I asked what I can do and they told me they can't do anything for now until they are done with collection of outstanding. I don't even know what to do I am confuse right now

Processing fresh passport in Ikoyi PPT is anything but seamless, especially if you you're using DIY.

-The rowdiness that never stops
-A few uncouth and rude officers
-Many steps that could be automated to reduce the stress on applicant and processing officer
-Seems there's a lot of people with issues concerning NIN or mix-up of names in Ikoyi office

*Anyways, thanks to folks with helpful messages on this thread, finally completed my processing and capture yesterday.

Just got my passport today at the festac passport office half DIY and half use of a contact. Applied online during May and i got my passport today. To God be the glory. Festac passport office was very seamless no stress at alll.

I had to resort to the same tactics after DIY was causing me issues especially because of NIN wahala.
Review: Festac office is okay for DIY if you have time to wait. The officers are very nice and would help you if you need help but omo you might have to waste time waiting in line if you don't have a good contact. If you want to capture on the same day, hold like 1k to tip and it would be done.
I'm waiting for my six weeks now.

NIN is causing a lot of issues TBVH, especially BVN generated NIN. The Government should sort out problems with NIN before making it a compulsory requirement in processes such as this

I apply for renewal online and make payment of 26,000 and printed the receipt and acknowledgement slips coupled with some documents...

On Getting to Ikoyi office the crowd is much, and I was told to come back in 4weeks to submit my documents...

So I called someone he referred me to someone and their, he collected 10,000..
Now I v done capturing.....waiting for passport collect

My husband applied for renewal last year August, unfortunately his NIN DOB doesn’t match his passport DOB then he did NIN DOB correction, the correction just drop on NIS portal this month since last year but his application has expired. The names on your passport and NIN have to match exactly. If you want use anything different on your passport, then you'll need to do a name change on your NIN first.

it took me a month plus before name re-arrangement take effect, and you'll still wait so tey before they upload your nin on immigration portal except you know how to find your way

u can change the name on ur nin. It costs 500 naira for data modification. Since u want to get a passprt later in the year, once u decide on the name u want for ur passprt pls start d name change for ur nin soonest. Do not wait until july.
Go onto remita and make the payment. To NIMC.
Then write an application letter addressd to nimc for what u want to do, attach ur remita receipt, affidavit of name change or name rearrangement or whatever u are doin and another official document of the name u want to be using onward.
Pls note, u need to decide which names u want to use and stop changing names as dis process in Mogeria is stressful

Did you apply for old passport or the new one with NIN? If new one, do they still accept old passport(without NIN) application?

So I planned to share my experience from Abeokuta with you guys.

Yesterday was my capture date, got there with all the required docs and went straight to the servicom desk.

I was told some docs were missing but not to worry the lady there explained what was missing.

1. There are 2 particular forms that you need to get from them and fill (note: I have heard some places would tell you to get this online if they notice you did DIY)

2. You need 2 printout of the payment page

3. You need to go with your old passport if it's renewal.

The most important stuff is, go to the center to submit your documents days ahead of your interview. This would help you from getting delayed.

Abeokuta is cool thou. Quick service and lots of folks willing to help without expecting cash from you.

Lots of passport are also available for collection, saw lots of passport yesterday.

That's the little I can say. Feel free to ask any questions, if I have any info I would share. Cheers and good luck to all japa plans

2. In part 1, What does particulars of asset mean?

3. Must a reason be stated for getting the passport (section 3), is it not obviously for travel, what should i do?

I was not asked for NIN even I didn't write any letter. The officers are very nice and accommodating and ready to help. Will be going for capturing on Tuesday. Hopefully the ppt comes out earlier than schedule
