In fact this question had been bordering me too and as such I don’t want to build more than just the one house I have in another state. On the other hand I know that I have enough strong connections in the state that I can hand over the property to should I be asked to leave the state any day on ground of disintegration of the entity called Nigeria. That notwithstanding I still want Nigeria to hold together because we are stronger together. The political elites should not disintegrate any more than they have already done. |

Ekpeitit:. Senseless post, it cheaper and better to build your own house in a place of residence than to rent . |

LagosInter:Nigerians owns houses in Dubai. Common sense thing. Houses are real estate. Your interest in them can be transferred, or managed with good property manager. |

LagosInter:In the North the marauders would take it but in the south or in any part of yoruba land igbos your properties are safe I can bet with everything I have, but for those igbos in the North you are on your own |

Gbajure:A visitor visa to go to Nigeria is a very small price for one to pay to have their own independent country However, the issue here are the properties one has legitimately, but is no longer a citizen. Whatever laws that the Lebanese, Indians, Chinese and other foreigners have used to retain control of their properties in Nigeria is what the Biafrans will use to also keep their own |

Ruggman:See this one still eating "Daddy Thank you", yapping about building. Swear, Have you ever bought a bag of cement in your life? Talk more of granite? I don't think so, else you'll know why the Igbos in the North have consistently dissociated themselves from your poverty driven biafla. . Those who have something to lose are more cautious about their utterances. Not these online children with 100MB free data |

In4matic:While you're talking about Edo/delta, just know that we Igbos do not intend to leave any of us behind. A typical example is the city of Asaba, capital of Delta state. Asaba indigenes are proud Igbos, Asaba is an Igbo city. When we leave, they leaving with us |

gidgiddy:Your stupidity is legendary. You think granting you a visiting visa is the right of the visitor? Your host may refuse to grant you a visiting visa and he is well within his rights despite whatever fee he charges you for the Visa Besides, you don't get to own and hold property before you get a residency permit. Not a visiting visa |

gidgiddy:I have told all my Asaba friends for more than 10 years to hurry up and leave Delta State for us. We were cheated out of the capital initially. They can cut themselves out to join the south east, no problem. It's time Warri reclaim back it's lost Glory as the true capital of Delta State. But don't expect to see another Kobo of Delta money to further develop Asaba |

gidgiddy:I ask you again? Have you ever bought a plot of land Anywhere? Even if it's 50×50? . What part of your destiny is not under your control? Because the last time I checked, the Igbos have enjoyed a free hand to establish their businesses anywhere they deem and succeed. The Nigerian state made that possible. So I ask again, how is your destiny caged? |
| Re: What Will Happen To Houses Owned By Igbos Outside Igbo Land If Nigeria Separates by gidgiddy: 2:23pm On Jun 26, 2021 |
In4matic:Only someone with slave mentality will still be talking about 50×50, property and residency when people are talking about their own independent country |

gidgiddy:Answer the question and stop trying to be clever-by-half. 1. Have you ever counted your hard earned money to buy Land? Anywhere, no matter how small even if 50×50? 2. In what ways have the destiny of your people been caged? |

From the North I believe it shouldn't be any problem. What matters is the way the seperation happens and how we treat each other during the process and after. If as we all do now, make it driven out hatred and even to go about doing nasty stuff to each other. Then there is every possibility it will become or end ugly. But if we do it through bridge building and mutual understanding .Not with the usual venom thingy all should. Be fine perhaps more documents and taxes will just apply. I believe we are still going to be neighbors after all or do business as fellow Africans/West Africans. I hope when it happens it's done out of understanding and not extreme hatred. Which is even harder to imagine with current happenings . Especially with the animosity brewing between them and others. All the comments , victim ploy, killings and no good wishes to see the end of others maybe what will come about hostile neighbors. I pray for the best sha! Depending on the method properties can be retained at higher cost , friendly terms or hostile terms. All depends what we make of each other at the end. |

gidgiddy:ABSOLUTE HORSE SHIIT. DO NOT EXPECT NIGERIA, the same country you have traduced, hated, denigrated, publicly insulted, abused, and rejected, to turn around and grant you ''residency rights'' in the Federal Republic of Nigeria, after you have achieved your secessionist dream. HOW DARE YOU? Fact is Igbos would turn persona non grata in Nigeria. If you think Ghana is giving you a hard time, Nigeria will be 5 times worse. You will be deported en masse to your Dot Republic, and those who remain will be endlessly harassed and extorted by the police. And targeted by ordinary Nigerians. I mean, you'll be foreigners. Illegal aliens needing to show your papers the minute you cross that Niger Bridge in Onitsha. You would have nothing like the rights you hold today in Nigeria. Dot com people. |

Rossiminku:Tell them.. A real dot com. I mean, who in his right mind will fight his neighbors on every side knowing he has a population overload that his resources (if they have any) can't cater for? They Erroneously assume taking Asaba, Aboh, Agbor (The Anioma region) will give them any inroad into the Niger Delta Lol. News flash, you are still landlocked without direct assess to the sea! Breaking news, you still won't have the oil you seek in any significant amount. Headline news. Your people will no longer be tolerated selling cheap Chinese items at every street corner, Traffic jam or market. Your big transportation businessmen will go broke because their luxurious buses can't go beyond the borders of Biafra. You can no longer hold the legal tender of Nigeria. Banks, Electricity services, Airports etc that the Nigerian state ensures gets to Igbo land will be suspended. Enjoy your dream |

In4matic:Exactly. The people you call brother, they people you claim to love, just because they say want to be on their own, you say you will deal with them? Did Britain deal with you Nigerians when you went your way in 1960? Let us all dissolve this fake union of Nigeria, it is based on lies and deceit. We Igbos must have our own independent country, no matter the cost |

flokii:Typical mindset of the blackman that Nnamdi Kanu frequently speaks about. Lack of productive thought is the bane of blacks. It is the main reason for our backwardness. A positive mind will welcome the industrious spirit that produced those properties so for more development. Separation should not be seen as quarrel but as a way to better the lives of all parts of Nigeria. |

Jomonix:How more industrious can you be than the Chinese? Does that change the fact their still aliens in Nigeria? So we should allow the Chinese, and Indians unrestricted access into Nigeria because they're "industrious minds"? Come on, be logical dude. Can the people of Southern Cameroon Saunter across the border to come and start claiming rights? Afterall, they were formerly in Nigeria? Modified The bolded is the key word. Betterment of Nigeria. Tell me why will NIGERIA pursue the betterment of Biafran people's interest than bettering her citizens? |

In4matic:But the Chinese are even more remote to Nigeria than the Igbo who is capable of delivering to the same scale as the Chinese if not more. What we are asking Nigerians is for them to be fare to the Igbo even as much as they have been to other non Nigerians including the Chinese. Will you dare to touch a Chinese property in Nigeria? |

Jomonix:Either you fail to understand or choose not to understand, Wether dare or not, A Chinaman cannot cross into NIGERIA and start building a house just like that. There are laws in place to ensure that doesn't happen. Whatever factory you see a Chinese own is either on lease for certain number of years or bought by real or corporate persons Indigenous to Nigeria |
