The best alternative to the criminal APC Governors preparing to take over government in 2023 is to hand over government to Yemi Osibanjo. He has integrity, he is educated, he is not fanatical, he will treat all sections better than Buhari and will make APC acceptable again. He is the person I think the South West should be projecting as ready to govern Nigeria. Not one Chicago drug baron that resides at Bourdillion.

It is not the FG's job to deduct money from the allocation, nor is it the governor's job. It's the CBN's job. And the CBN should just go ahead and do it. If the FG borrowed from CBN, the CBN should also collect the repayment accordingly. The fact that a supposedly independent corporation like CBN is yoked to FG is even an indictment on the office of the VP.

If any governor needs to refinance their borrowings, they should approach the relevant bank, make their case and negotiate. If any bank lends outside regulatory guidelines, CBN should fine them accordingly.

The VP's interference should be to ensure that the right thing is done, period.
Usually, banks that borrow money to state governments often secure those loans primarily through domiciliation of monthly allocations in that bank. For the loans taken from commercial banks, I agree that those banks should just go ahead and deduct from domiciliation proceeds except they can mutually agree to restructure.

For the non commercial bank bit, those loans were a product of FG's intervention through the Ministry of Finance with CBN acting as FG's bankers. FG surely guaranteed the loans and should be involved one way or the other. Remember the states used most of that money to pay salaries and cushion the impact of economic downturn on the states. The alternative would have been to throw those workers out of work, a commercially sensible thing to do but politically not advisable. There are no easy solutions

Okay, I get your point.

But to get more clarity, is the FG the lender, or just the guarantor? If they're a guarantor, who's the lender?

I don't have all the facts but my understanding is that it was a special intervention fund to enable states pay backlog of salaries, some extending up to 15 months in arrears. It was set up as a budget support loan repayable over a number of years at an interest rate, secured by irrevocable standing instruction deductible from future allocations. The CBN provides the funds but FG secures on behalf of states.

Yet the Governors will still not pay the minimum wage & the naive misinformed children will come & blame President Buhari.

VP Weldon

When there is trouble, the CABALS will ask VP to go and negotiate/settle the problem but when CRITICAL DECISIONS ARE TO BE TAKEN/MONEY TO BE SHARED VP would not be INVITED.

THE CURRENT VP SHOULD ASK FORMAL VP (ATIKU ABUBAKA ) HOW HE HANDLED OBJ DURING THEIR OWN TIME

I won't fall to your level by insulting you back. Which region/tribe has been constantly voting Hausa/Fulani PDP unrepentant since 1999? At least the equally devilish APC is zoning it to the South, while PDP is zoning theirs to the North. I can't think of a better Candidate from the South than Prof Yemi Osinbajo, while you and your likes will still vote Hausa/Fulani PDP. Lastly i am from the South South part of this Country.
Prof. Yemi Osinbajo is my President come 2023..

Imagine the rubbish you are spewing. The only fulani I ever voted was yaradua and he was the one who established the nddc and the ministry of nigerdelta. What has buhari and APC done for the south south except take our money to go build railways for his cousins in niger and explore non existent oil in the north while killing our innocent farmers with his herdsmen and appoint fulanis to nnpc and nimasa while you open your foolish and stupid mouth with that your dumb zombie skull to compare APC to pdp. Thunder will fire you and every APC supporter from the nigerdelta.
We will surely overcome this siege but all of you shouting APC will rot in hell

Yar'adua established NDDC? grin, see how this one is just typing nonsense. OK Mr PDP saint, who should we vote for in 2023 since you have issue with my choice or candidate? Name one Polithiefcian from any region in Nigeria that is a Saint, abi we won't vote in 2023 again? You are throwing insult around unprovoked like a kid. My candidate for 2019 election was Fela Durotoye of ANN, even though i new he won't win. I cannot imagine myself voting for Buhari or Atiku. I don't support both devilish APC and PDP, I just admire Prof Yemi Osinbajo and Nigerians saw a glimpse of what he can do when he was Acting President.
Parting Note:
Since 1999 what has all the South South Governors done for the region, with all the renenue plus 13% oil derivation accrue to the States? What has all Nigerian Governors done in their respective State? How many World class Hospital, Public Schools or even the simple basic amenities have they built in their State? Blame everything on the Federal Government (like many Nigerians did during Jonathan tenure), while State Governor and Local Govt Chairmen are looting the States dry. Learn to engage and disagree with peoples opinion in a sensible manner.

At Least during gej tenure there was no fear of herdsmen. All the farmers in the south were going to their farms even at night, govt positions were distributed evenly with federal character and people were not killed for protesting. There was nothing like twitter ban and there was free speech. Fuel price was #80 and a bag of rice was less than 10000.

So are you exonorating buhari from the evils going on. Are you saying governors have the power to stop herdsmen from killing innocent farmers when soldiers invade communities that chase herdsmen out. Are you saying governors have a say over the hyperinflation we are facing all over the zoo, are you saying governors can reduce fuel pump price from 165 to 80. Oga you are defending rubbish. Your darling osinbade is a fucking coward whose entire village can be razed to the ground by herdsmen today and he will not be able to say or do anything, this is one thing buhari and malami know very well that's why they treat him anyhow. And by the northerners are not fools they know he and tinubu are just bidding their time just to get the presidency that's why they will never give it to them, it will shock una.
By the way it is the turn of the SE to be president and there are good candidates like moghalu and Peter Obi.
Leadership is all about courage to stand up for the rights of your people and not to be timid just because you don't want to offend the fulani cabal
