That's why am happy with OCDA new directive of tree planting.

It is good to have such idea of planting trees however it should fruit bearing trees and must incorporate strict measure of maintenance. Given the mannerism of most Nigerians toward maintenance, it will be hard sale for me to consider.

Lol it doesn't matter how much you cry, but the truth is very bitter, Owerri is a glorified village littered with bad roads, filth, prostitutes, armed robbers, kidnappers, terrorists, etc. More than 90% of Imo indigenes are living in PH, this because Imo state is a failed state. Fact

I really do not think you will ever see an urban setup in your miserable life.

Exactly , all these plazas Igbos are building up and down, I mean stack 3 or 4 plazas vertically it becomes a high rise building. We all know, high rise buildings characterize modern cities

Not true to the bolded. It is only in the mindset of a goon.

But at least I have come see the glorified village that's Owerri. cool

You are what I thought you were in character. By your silly admission, you saw a glorified village not urban city. What the people of Imo State have in Owerri is a beautiful and growing urban city. I hope you are not allowed to get close to a handgun.

Look at this illiterate, can your slum p.h contain 90% of Imo indigenes? Are you this re.tar.ded in reasoning? It's your people that run to Owerri to have peace. I know many Rivers indigenes that keep their families in Owerri because of insecurity in p.h. Your stunted slum town is the headquarters of kidnapping, armed robbery, cultism, militancy etc.

You should be ashamed that despite all the billions of dollars that was generated in over 60 years of drilling crude oil, most of you are still poverty stricken and live in ghetto shacks. Now oil era is gone and all you have to boast is gross pollution.

Shame!!

According to the Owerri city urban renewal project, new bus terminals like the ones in Lagos will be established at Egbu road and Naze.

Control roundabout is also included in junction improvement works, though am dissatisfied that imsu roundabout was not included.

I should have known it's the same old miserable irritant that is constituting nuisance here. You now go about cloning people's monikers just to cause nuisance. When will you get a life and stop this childish stupidity?

People should ignore this mad man, he is the same person that has been trolling Abagworo since 5 years now.

They should replace Control with Imsu junction, that roundabout at control is iconic and beautiful, it compliments Maria Assumpta Cathedral. Again, Control is a T-junction, it does not have the same shape like Warehouse, and thus won't be as beautiful. IMSU junction on the other hand is a full junction with four direction roads, it would be beautiful like Warehouse.

That fool is the same irritant that has camped here since the time Abagworo was posting here. He always clones other people accounts just to be constituting nuisance, you can check his account to see yourself.

Just ignore him and he will fizzle out, he likes attention.

*IMO STATE PUBLIC ENLIGHTENMENT*

*STATUS REPORT ON ROADS CONSTRUCTION IN IMO STATE*

The Shared Prosperity Government of His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma has continued to change the narratives on the state of Imo roads from what it used to be in the past since the creation of Imo State in 1976.

Interestingly, the Reconstruction, Rehabilitation and Recovery Agenda (3R) of the present Government has earnestly committed herself into laudable and realistic projects infrastructure to the glaring of all and sundry.

The following roads have since been commissioned by this Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma.

18.) Dick Tiger Road

19.) Dick Tiger Street

20.) Akachi road Now Evan Enwerem Way.

21.) Relief Market road

22.) Chukwuma Nwaoha road

This remarkable feat was achieved within the Governor's one year in office through the hard working Commissioner for Works, Ralph Nwosu, who has remained resolutely dogged in keeping the contractors on tab towards ensuring quality and timely delivery.

Governor Hope Uzodinma on assumption of office inherited twenty five (25) already awarded road projects with additional twenty four (24) awarded by his administration making it a total of forty nine (53) road projects in the State.

Also, His Excellency the Governor graciously approved the maintenance of the already existing roads that require remedial attention (Potholes) for continued life span.

The roads include,

2. PIUS NWOGA ROAD

3. GENERAL HOSPITAL JUNCTION ROAD - HIGH COURT.

27. WORKS LAYOUT - MADONNA - WORKS ROAD

28. MOSQUE ROAD

It is instructive to note that these roads were given remedial attention under the Operation Zero Pot-hole Policy of the Imo State Ministry of Works.

Going further, it is pertinent to note that the following roads are completed and are waiting for Commissioning.

1.) Construction of Mbonu Ojike street, Ikenegbu.

2.) Reconstruction/Rehabilitation of Owerri/Orlu road(Egbeada By-Pass)

3.) Emmanuel college/Naze road

4.) Student/Market road, opposite Imsu.

5.) IMSUTH Road, Orlu.

6.) Maintenance of failed Section on Owerri/Mbaise/Obowo road.

7.) Okigwe roundabout to St.Mary's Catholic Okigwe (Okpala road)

Just some months back, His Excellency the Governor flagged-off the reconstruction of Owerri/Orlu road and Owerri/Okigwe.

While Okigwe/Orlu road is a dual carriage road measuring 36Km, Owerri/Okigwe remains as a single carriage road with 56km.

The both roads were awarded to a reputable and international construction company, CRANEBURG CONSTRUCTION COMPANY.

These roads amongst others are currently ongoing inline with His Excellency's determined effort to reconstruct, rehabilitate and recovery of Imo State.

As part of the State Government honest spiritedness in mitigating flooding challenges in the State capital, the government embarked on desliting of drainages and manholes and subsequently initiated the construction of the balloon technology drainage system cutting across Dick tiger, Chukwuma Nwaoha, Fire Service road and other major streets of Owerri, with it end point at Otamiri River.

The balloon technology drainage system upon completion will collect all storms waters coming from MCC, Aladinma, Dick tiger, Chukwuma Nwaoha and other adjoining streets of Owerri down to Otamiri River for onward discharge.

Furthermore inline with the State Government resolve on her urban renewal policy, His Excellency Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma, flagged off the OWERRI URBAN RENEWAL AND JUNCTION IMPROVEMENT WORKS PROJECT, this is aimed at improving and enhancing a better level of transportation system in Owerri metropolis.

The roundabouts included-:

1) Nazi Roundabout

2) Control Roundabout

3) Warehouse Roundabout

4) Akwakuma Roundabout

5) MCC Junction

6) Fire Service Roundabout

7) Emmanuel College Roundabout.

Amongst these roundabouts, Warehouse and Fire Service roundabouts are almost completed with its furnitures while others are still ongoing.

Summarily, with the facts and records as stated above, it is paramount to state that His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma has distinguished himself among equals in the annals of history in the governance of the State.

To this end, His Excellency the Governor, months back invited eminent Nigerians across the country to commission more road projects in the state as part of the activities marking his One Year anniversary in office.

It is worthy of note that activities, performances and achievements of Ministry of Works is about nothing other than roads with it's hydraulic structures.

Therefore it is our expectations, God's willing that before long now, all these projects will be completed and commissioned and across the state and Owerri metropolis shall get over the issue of flooding incidence and deplorable road condition to the greater Glory of God almighty.

Imagine if the defunct progress bank building was completed. Government should sell the building even if it's at a give away price of 1bilion naira, instead of allowing it rot away

The building was sold to former senator of okigwe zone called agu ofu aka, yes the project stopped during Rochas regime, but I don't know whether the dispute has been resolved. I really hope the project is completed soonest.
