...Declares Niger Delta have had enough of colonial oppression

* demands reversal or block IOCs from region

The leader of the Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Edwin Clark, has described the newly passed Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), ready for harmonization as satanic, unjust, embarrassing, and has dashed the hope of the people of the Niger Delta.

Clark, who is also the leader of the Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum (SMBLF), the provision that allocated a huge 30% of profits for further frontier oil exploration in the north was a source of concern, especially in a fast changing world of investment shifts away from fossil oil.

Clark who was represented at a press conference in Abuja by PANDEF’s National Publicity Secretary, Ken Robinson, declared that the region has had enough of the colonial oppression and will be resisting it.

The two chambers of the National Assembly last week Thursday passed the PIB, after about 13 years of legislative fireworks.

The bill was first sent to the National Assembly in 2008 by President Umaru Yar’Adua, now deceased, without translating into an Act.
The PIB, 2020 is seeks to introduce far-reaching reforms in the Nigerian oil and gas industry.

Clark said the PIB passed does not reflect the long clamour by the people of region for equity, fairness and justice.

Keeping Nigeria together is very expensive. Oil is a curse to Nigeria, brings nothing but misery. Without Buhari Nigeria would have collapse in 2015 and 2020 due to crash oil prices. I wish oil was never discovered in Nigeria. We don't want the curse of Oil in Northern Nigeria.. we are conservative and we prefer to live natural

He is speaking fact when he stated that a "huge 30% of profits for further frontier oil exploration in the north". This is a legal robbery of the Niger Delta oil profits, especially when all the exploration will be handled by Northern contractors in finding non-existent oil.

That 30% profits should be used to diversify the economy. This is what happens when you put in charge people with the lowest I.Q.

It is either Chief Edwin Clark is deceiving his people or he does not even care about the interests and welfare of Niger Delta people. Are you kidding me? You mean as leader of so-called Pan-Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Clark wasn't following the progress PIB in NASS and the caucus of ND lawmakers weren't briefing him on per-step-basis. I mean, even the Sultan of Sokoto and the nominal leaders of ACF, Audi Ogbe kept vigil on PIB on behalf of the North.

Well, it is not completely late. At Senate/HOR harmonization level, Southern caucus MUST insist that 30% should be allocated to geopolitical zones to prospect for oil in each zone. Chikenna!

In any case, PIB and all the percentages therein have little benefits for the common man. Like NDDC situation, the politicians will corner the percentages and help themselves.

Unfortunately, once again, the Northern politicians displays wrong prioritization by focusing more on oil than developing crop production and animal husbandry that will employ and empower millions of young Northerners. Not yet uhuru for banditry to end.

Our SS brothers think there's any good plan for them. I wonder why they can't see that even the little they're enjoying currently will be taken from them if they don't support the break up of Nigeria. It's very painful to see what their unfounded phobia for us is costing all of us. Why settle for crumbs when we can control all our resources together? Why umunnam?

The most important thing is implementation, not passage. After all the brouhaha about FOI bill, what has become of it and how have things changed more than 9 years after its passage?

Where were southern senators?

You know it’s funny when Ndigbo are telling the Niger Deltans/Ijaw that we need to join together and fight as one big family and they think the Igbo is after their oil.

Now the North is making stealing of oil money official by making a law for it.

Imagine removing 30% of profit from every that would ever be sold from the time the bill becomes law. That will be money meant exclusively for the north to spend. Whether they use for oil exploration or to buy houses in Dubai or marry more wives, you no right to ask.

Not only that, I also read that host communities has been made to include any community where pipeline passes. Which means that northern communities where pipelines pass would henceforth be regarded as host community and share from 3% Trust Fund created for host communities.

Asari Dokubo will not see this one. The fat pig is mocking Nnamdi Kanu that is fighting to liberate you.

Fools keep thinking Igbo is their enemy.

I cannot but agree with you on this.

Without doubt if there is sincerity with government to tackle the banditry issue, get herders to ranch, peace should be restored.

Also leaders like Chief Edwin Clark should be abreast with proceedings, especially as they affect his people, to enable his people maximize benefits due to them. Now it feels like he’s crying over spilled milk.

The south is indeed the problem of the southern Nigeria. Stop blaming the North for your problems.

I've listened to one of the Senators from Delta state on channels TV this morning and he said that most lawmakers from the south outside the Niger delta region were not interested in the PIB and it agenda.

Yorubas are second class slaves
Igbos are third class slaves

E shock you abi? When we were saying DIVIDE NIGERIA NOW you think we were just catching cruise? When Igboho and Kanu told you what these demonic Northern muslims were up to, you were still shaking your yanch thinking all is well. Keep disbelieving your seeing eyes.

You were sleeping when Northern muslim politicians were stealing your heritage abi? Northern Islam is a religion of lies, deceit, injustice, corruption, violence and death. If you don't stand up to them, they will steal your heritage right in front of your eyes.

The ONLY Muslims I respect in Nigeria are Southern (Yoruba and Edo) muslims. Northern muslims are seeds of Satan especially their politicians. You know when Hausas were still practicing Hausa traditional religion they were honest, kind and just. Ever since they embraced Usman Dan Fodio-Fulani style Islam, they have joined the demonic Fulanis and become demons themselves.

liasmiram2567:
Shut up your mouth. You are full of hatred.Face the politicians and sty clear of Islam. Can one say same about Christians and Christianity? All Politicians are same whether in the north or in the south.
Look at this useless Northern Muslim defending the demonic religion of NORTHERN ISLAM. I am not against Islam. I have Muslims in my family. I am against demonic Islam aka Northern Islam.
