ACCA to CPA; this MRA has expired.
Possible they renew in future lipsrsealed

It is important to note that this MRA was scheduled to expire in July 2016, however, the deadline was extended. All individuals who submit a complete application and fulfill the eligibility criteria before April 30, 2021, 7:00pm EST will be considered for admission under the MRA.

I don't know if you can get a job from Nigeria

They should have contacted you and told you what you need.

Based on experiences, you will be asked to submit a self addressed envelope (regional or national). That is what they will use to send your passport.

Check your email or call them for more information.

Hello Mama,

Provided you are fully vaccinated, or you will be fully vaccinated when you return to Nigeria, please go back to your baby.

It's not so easy here. Please...

Hi.

I am just seeing your message now. I have not been on this platform for a while. Very busy life in Canada.

Ok. Yes you can apply for SOWP now if you want. I did same during my time. After my visa was approved, once I received my stamped passport back from IRCC, before I left Nigeria I applied for my wife (SOWP) and child (Visitor visa).
When I arrived Canada, obtained my study permit, my enrolment verification letter from my university and other relevant documents, I uploaded them to my wife's application to show that I am already in Canada studying. Their visas were approved in two month's time after we submitted the application. And they came to join me when they were ready.

I have seen a case where someone applied immediately for their spouse before leaving Nigeria and fortunately the spouse visa approved and they all traveled together to Canada at the same time, because the resumption date was still far.

But just like it has been said, it depends on who is the visa officer is. But even if you have to wait and arrive Canada first before applying, don't waste time, apply immediately you arrive Canada, or even apply before you leave Nigeria, as long as you have the right documents and the proof of funds.

I am saying this based on my personal experience and living in Canada.

Thanks

Hello good people

Please I have a question that requires an urgent clarification.

My wife newly received a study visa approval, and myself and the children wish to travel to Canada as soon as possible. In fact, we plan to put in the application by next week. She is still in Nigeria and planning to travel in August for the fall intake. I plan to apply for SOWP, while the children will apply for study visas.

Meanwhile, in filling the family information form, she had indicated that no family member would accompany her to Canada. She had stated thus in order to use me and the children as home ties.

Now the question is: if the rest family members now apply to join her in Canada, would IRCC not consider this as amounting to misrepresentation? Could IRCC use the information in her family information form against us?

Do we have people here who had stated similar thing in their family information form, yet still got SOWP for the spouse and study visas for children?

Lekiboboe, Justmellow, Frankrobbn, and people who had gone through the process such as ILoveDLord, Schonebaby, jaybaby2017, please how did you tackle the issue raised below?

Thank you for helping out.

Hello guys,

I need some advice on what to do.

I came back to Nigeria last year, December, to really spend time with family and see my fiancé as well. Fast forward this year, my fiancé and I did our traditional marriage and shortly after she left for US for a 4-month summer work program. I will soon be travelling back to Canada ( I'm a PR) and I really need my fiancé/wife ( I don't think Canada recognizes a couple that just did traditional marriage as husband and wife) to join me in Canada.

I am really looking for legal options I can explore for her to come over to Canada from US, before the expiration of her work permit visa. I don't know if a visitors' visa is a sure-fire way to bring her over or nah. I'm not too sure again, how to make this happen, like, make a strong case why I need my wife/fiancé here with me in Canada or if the application for a visitors' visa will even succeed. I don't want to start an application that will lead to rejection.

Thanks.
P.S. I'm also aware of the Canada-US border restrictions. She'd definitely be coming over when those restrictions are relaxed in the coming months, hopefully!
Re: Living In Canada/Life As A Canadian Immigrant Part 2 by Nobody: 4:42am On Jul 06, 2021
Start first. They may not give her if she states she has her husband here. Traditionally, she is not your fiancee, she is your wife but Canada wants the marriage certificate to prove she is your spouse.

Had it been you have the certificate, she would just try the visit visa and while here you guys file for spousal sponsorship within Canada after say four months she gets her open work permit.

I think that she can come in with a visitor's visa, you get married at the court in Canada and you file for change of status but you will need proof of relationship to go with your application cos they will ask.

Hi all,
Quick question please. How do you get your study permit amended?

So I came in about a month ago through Vancouver on a student visa and was issued a Study permit at the border. I knew, from reading this thread, that they were supposed to write on my study permit that I am entitled to work on and off campus.

But the guy attending to us that day was cranky and impatient. There was an Indian lady ahead of me who tried to insist that he should write it on her permit and he rudely asked her if she was here to study or here to work. He did not amend her permit.

Me I came with my husband and was busy praying quietly that they should give him work permit, so I did not even have the liver to ask for any amendment immediately they gave us.

Now, I have tried to get a SIN number and they are refusing to give me until I amend my study permit to show that I can work for 20 hrs.

Has anyone been able to amend their study permit? What’s the procedure please.

You can apply for vistiors visa for her under family reunification (citing that she's your fiance)
You'd also have to fill an authorization to travel orm which would be notarized by a lawyer and submit alongside the application.

In your invitation letter, make sure you clearly state and convince the visa officer beyond all reasonable doubt that she will return back to her country after the visit. Because the major reason she'd be denied a visitors visa is based on family ties in Canada (YOU)

In my case, we travelled the day before and lodged in a hotel. We went for our appointment the following morning and from there we went back to Toronto. We took the bus but you can go by air too.

This is what my friend did…. She got a visitors visa, came to Canada, her hubby applied for her PR , at that point she was able to apply for a open work permit. She applied for that and it was approved and she was able to use that to work and get OHIP. One year after her PR was approved. They did court wedding in Nigeria before she came here. You and your fiancé can do a court wedding here when she’s able to travel to Canada.

I’m not sure about cheap but if you have mostly Bs in your last semester, you may get admission for a Masters program in some schools regardless of if you graduated with 2.2. You have to google schools in areas of interest and check their eligibility requirements.

By change of status, I hope you mean sponsorship.

When they get married, he can sponsor her to become PR (processing time is long now) and they can include a work permit in that application.

Nah wah for the CBSA officer oo. I think I had the exact issue when I came as a student. I was able to work with my study permit. The job was for a brief period though. If your potential employer has an issue with the clause on your study permit, you can contact IRCC.
