The Government of Edo State has taken over the construction of a Federal Constituency Road project in Akoko-Edo Local Government of Edo State which was poorly-executed as seen in a viral online video, IgbereTV reports.

A statement from the Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki reads;

The contractor handling the Lawani Crescent project must be arrested for the bad job done and handed over to ICPC and the EFCC, to enable us ascertain exactly what happened.

The contract for the project stands revoked.

D state revokes d contract but is begging who to arrest d contractor. If someone insults d governor, will d governor say "the insulter must be arrester"?

The people are the government. The government cant be everywhere, you have a role to play. That guy did his part.....we more citizens to be alive to their responsibility and do same.

Until we start expecting corrupt public officials like China does, this country.

Won't it make the incumbent Nigerian president look incompetent? That's what African leaders are afraid of. It would have shown that Africa's underdevelopment has nothing to do with the land. It's entirely our fault. Africa is not cursed as people tend to think.

It's not as if we don't know what good governance entails. We are just too greedy. Our mentality is bleeped up. Once we get a juicy contract or position, we want to siphon money meant for projects.

If Botswana and Namibia can run a decent country, it means we all can, but our greed won't let us.

Did you watch the state of that Ekosodin road on ITV news last week? Hahaha. ....erosion don sack landlords from houses. The contractor say the poor job na according to the money the state government paid.
