Yea, even in the party he wasn't comfortable drinking with those people. He knew something was not right, Gowon and co came with Taqiya written all over them.

What a senseless comment as usual. Personally, I see nothing wrong with it, same way I didn't see anything wrong with that of Shagaris thread. But some idiots on the previous thread who are definitely your brothers, saidthe attitude is an "abooki" attitude.

Okukwu must be an aboki as well.

You people are the most shameless hypocrites on the face of this earth. Remove the Everest standing in your eyes before trying to remove the speck of dust in someone else's.

When they free this one?

Yeah, in wars things like this occurs. I am telling you that if you wage a war on the country again, worse things would happen. The "thrash" is to educate you of what the civil war entailed since people are not telling you the truth.

So that op that posted Shagari smoking video, what was abokki always giving him? Sleepfull night?

Someone posted a video of hausa smoking, you all started insulting abokkis, and to diasbuse your minds, another person posted an igbo man smoking, the story now changes to "igbo giving the OP sleepless night". Very funny pipu.

So igbos have more right and freedom to do what they like unchecked while similar cases elsewhere should be treated with insults down to ancestors?

I swear you people are just too funny

They were created equal. Between creation and realization, there was growth and growth isn't constant or same for all.

Ojokwu light cigarette, Shagari light cigarette how will this help us in 2021.

Must we spend our precious time for information that will always create issues.

To those digging up these information, smoking cigarette in those days was a thing of joy then. Then cigarettes was banned even football coaches smoke publicly.

You guys are dealing in foolery trying to start an ethnic war of words because of two persons that acted (smoked) in a fashion that was acceptable in light of the 1960s milieu. None of Shagari or Ojukwu acted out of place.

Yes, Ojukwu had some airs of arrogance. This is not so out of place considering he was the eldest son of one of West Africa's richest men (Sir Loius Ojukwu, OBE). His father was insanely successful. He held many, many "firsts" in Nigeria (and even per black African). His Dad's Rolls Royce, same he was reported to have driven around as a boy, conveyed the Queen in Lagos. The Kano Emirate Council had the other Rolls Royce (though markedly less opulent than Loius Ojukwu's version) in Nigeria, and the Queen was ferried in it when she moved to the North on the same tour. A graduate of Oxford; one black head in a sea of white heads. Ojukwu (jnr) was the first graduate to enrol in the Royal Nigerian Army (at a time the army was for sons of "nobodies" like Gowon and co.). His father never approved of it because an army career was considered beneath people of his status. Of course, he defied his father's wishes. Born in Zungeru (like Azikiwe), he spoke impeccable Hausa, Yoruba and, of course, Igbo. He was a Nigerian through and through. His rebellion against the Nigeria state was reactionary and defensive. Ojukwu is not the villain non-Igbos think he is.
Shagari was a decent man too who rose to political prominence from his modest career as a teacher. He lived a long, fulfilled life. The kind of Fulaniman Nigeria should be proud of. He was never the supremacist kind like Buhari and co. Modest, cultured and personable.

Bottomline: it is nauseating watching you guys (on both sides) make a fool of yourselves over something as this. Only morons don't see past ethnic lenses. It's a fucking big world! Open your heads!

Ah yes, well said.

As for Dim’s arrogance, it is expected of someone born and brought up in class and luxury. You won’t catch members of wealthy victorian families today cowering or groveling to anybody. It’s not done.

Little wonder why Dim’s oxford professors made it a sport to go in joy rides in his sports car all around campus.

I hope he purpose of this post is not to compare it with that of shagari and the Nigeria PM..

Ojukwu and Gowon were millitary men and Ojukwu was Gowon's senior .. also was enlisted before him..

Whilst Shagari was a citizen smoking just behind his countries PM while the latter was doing a broadcast..
