You don't put that kind of responsibility on a teenager. We saw it with Mbappe earlier. There are some times that you just have to do tested and trusted.

Who are the "Tested and Trusted?"

Sterling will disappoint you.

Harry Kane shouldn't have gone first.. that was the mistake

Aspa the other teams will be looking?

If its still Southgate that's in charge, then expect nothing.

Italy has exposed alllllll an amateur coach can use to beat this Southgate XI under 120mins. Alll, not one ounce left.

Germany will wake up before Qatar. Just watch.

This final should send some awakening to the African reps at Qatar. They should be emboldened to cause damage to whoever they meet.

Many didn't even give Italy a Chance. Names don't play football.

Chiesa outclassed Kane and Sterling combined

Barella outclassed Mount amd Rice combined

C&B looking like Impenetrable Forte of Rome, doing what it takes, while Stones and Maguire were busy exposing Pickford over and over and over again, balloooning balls instead of cordinating passes. That poor ball progression at the start of this tournament definitely affected the whole team.

I've learnt alot from this Tourney. I hope others do too.

cheesy cheesy cheesy

So una many wey no like England pass me

Well Spain will fight for the Qatar World Cup ,you already saw what they did ,if they made it to the finals it won’t go to the extra time against England

That same 19 year old had been carrying arsenal all season. I expected Saka to handle the moment. There's no shame in him missing
This is a final of a big tournament. How many finals has Saka been to? Has he had that kind of situation before? Is he even Arsenal's PK taker?

Its like telling an u17 Nacho to take the last pk for an SE semifinal game vs Egypt/Algeria. Too too much for the shoulders.

The pull of respect. C knows what the lad can do. Better to get the yellow than expose Dona. Coincidentally, non of English CBs got booked.

England keep bottling it in Penalties, 1996, 1998, 2004, 2006, 2012 and now 2021. Those black players will certainly be blamed for this

If Italy can keep the ball this well against England

Imagine what Spain would have done

PS: How is Mount an AM?
England would have beaten Spain, Spain aren't defensively solid plus they make a lot of mistakes

Southgate is a draw back to English football. Many will get carried away with him getting to finals but he coached that team terribly and it showed in this final game.

The English team could hardly string passes. He opted for a defensive set up after the equalizer.

He is lost with handling creative players like Grealish, Foden, Rashford, Bellingham, Sancho etc.

I hope he leaves that Job soon.

Congratulations to Italy, especially Mancini. He is such a winner and has done a brilliant job with the Italian side.

That is not true. Spain would have torn this English team to shreds. Even the English approach is a defeatist one.

true England play park the bus system but Sterling and Kane would have been too much for their defence plus sometimes Spain can be unimaginative with their attacking play, just sterile possession football.

UEFA didn't want an empty stadium in the finals, I guess why the pushed England thru. But man in the center at the finals happen to be another Collina. He just hanged England to dry. All the theatrics came to nothing. Both diving and falling na play on him dey.

England will not pass quarter final in the world cup. Their attack is still very disjointed.

Just say you preferred England to win because you are sounding as if you didn't watch this game.

They have good individual players but not a good team. Individual brilliance of Sterling brought them out of group stage. Even against Denmark, it was an huff and puff everywhere.

Look at the Italian and Spanish team, look at the way they play and the technical quality they posses, from the coach to the smallest players. Look at the level of coordination in the play compared to England. Even the likes of Austria and Switzerland play good football with their low quality players.

England still has a long way to go when it comes to playing proper football. Fortunately for them, they have individual talents to help them do tournament shithousery by getting into latter stages of competition

The Italians found it difficult against Spain to break them down. So why do you think s more negative side would find it easier.

It does not work like that. The Spaniards controlling the game will limit the attack of Kane and Sterling. Far easier than even Italy did.

As soon as I saw dem black players come up, one after another, I knew something bad was gonna happen. The irony come be say, coach brought in Rashford and Sancho for same penalty.

I just imagined him looking at giant Donarumma with his hands wide open. The post will just become smaller. Saka heart fall inside him belle sha. That last penalty is not for lilly livered players.

Exactly. Spanish defenders aren't as disciplined like those old guards of Italy. After England scored early, if it was Spain, England will score more.

Luke Shaw, Marcus Rashford and Harry Maguire lost the Europa League final and the Euro2020 final.

It is down to the coach. If Enrique was the one coaching this English team, I can assure you they would have outplayed the Italians in every part of the game.

It is disappointing they have players working with Guardiola, Klopp, Tuchel, Bielsa, Rodgers, Hassenhutl and a host of others and chose to stick with a coach who is scared of playing the philosophy the players are working under every day.
