Boat With 5 Passengers Capsizes In Lagos by Nobody: 5:49pm On Jul 16, 2021

A boat carrying five passengers has capsized in Lagos State.

The PUNCH gathered that the boat was heading to Badagry when the incident happened on Friday.

An official of the Lagos State Waterways confirmed the incident, saying that the five passengers have been rescued.

“No Cause for Alarm! The boat was going to Badagry but unfortunately stopped 5 minutes after casting out of Five Cowries Terminal.

“All passengers have been successfully rescued while the boat moved to safer harbour till the heavy rain stopped and will be taking to dry dock for technical assessment,” the official said.

This is the first time I've seen a bad news with a good ending. Happy no one died. The rescue team must be commended for the quick response especially in this rainy season.

Note: Lagos is an average of 25m above sea level, while places like Taraba is about 1,000m above sea level.

Don’t blame Lagos Govt for flooding, Mother Nature is at work.
