Good day my people. The steering of my Honda CRV 98 is way too soft that makes me almost loose control sometimes. What could be the problem please?

Most likely culprit is a worn steering rack. Replacing your steering rack should solve that. It is important to do that as soon as possible to avoid an accident.

Hmmm... Sway bar or sway bar links (aka 'linkage')?

You probably meant to refer to bad sway bar links, in which case, there car responds to steering but sways from side to side after sudden, sharp turns. Can also make one easily lose control of a car.

Bad sway bar bushings usually cause 'clanging' noise.

Please house, my 2003 EOD just suddenly started jerking once I try to speed above 60km/h. I took it to my mechanic and after checking, he told me the shaft is worn out. My Gear specialist came in at that moment and told me it's a rewire's work. Who do I believe among them?
Who else has experienced this and how did you resolve it?
Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by kolagbemi(m): 4:11am On Jul 15, 2021
Guyz, thank you for your advices.

How true is the saying that, Honda EOD isn't good buy at old age(referring to second hand). Also, is it true that EOD often has transmission problem and when replaced, it will continue to have problem with the transmission.

Please, how much is the transmission and engine.

I have just 800k and EOD seem to be the only car i can afford with it.

Thank you

Using mine for ten plus years and no single transmission issue.

The transmission myth is cos Nigerians use the wrong transmission fluid (e.g oando, total, seahorse etc) and not the genuine Honda transmission fluid.

And Honda is unforgiving if you ever make that mistake.

Nigeria Used EOD has most likely been abused due to such ignorance.

Be careful on the one you buy. (Get a good, knowledgeable, car guru to advice when inspecting).

The issue has been resolved. It was actually a worn out shaft.

Before you replace fuel pump, there are easier things to rule out:

- Which engine oil do you use? If too viscous when cold (the likes of 20W-xy), you may want to use 5W-20 or 5W-30 semi synthetic or full synthetic.

- Optimize combustion by cleaning your fuel injectors, throttle body and replacing engine air filter.

- Less commonly, wearing starter motor brushes (starter motor is popularly called 'kick' or 'kick starter') could be another culprit. Generally, if this is the case, it may worsen rapidly over a few weeks and car won't even crank anymore.

- Also less commonly, a battery getting weak. Batteries generally require more 'power' to start up an engine in cold weather.

If all these are ruled out and symptoms persist, you may begin to pay attention to fuel pump.
First thing to check for fuel pump is to turn your key in the ignition to the intermediate position and listen for the whining sound of your fuel pump. You should hear it if in a quiet area. If weak (compared to how it used to sound) or absent, fuel pump suspicion stronger.

Cheers!

I may need to clean my injectors but I have changed the air filter recently

Changed the whole kick start assembly recently

If your vehicle is flooded, please do not try to start the vehicle, disconnect battery terminals, allow the water to go down and let it dry. Call your mechanic to remove & dry your brain box & fuse box, check your engine oil and transmission fluid for water, if any, drain and refill genuine recommended fluid. Remove spark plugs and check cylinders for water, if any, blow engine before replacing them one by one.

Car gurus, I have a challenge my Honda civic 09

The idle is not too smooth as it should be
Spark plugs change, ignition coil tested to be working fine
Air filter changed also
Throttle body cleaned
MAF sensor cleaned and scanner didn't bring out any error code
It starts on time and moves, but the movement not smooth as I expected especially when brake is applied.

Abeg help a brother

There is something called 'idle air control valve' below your throttle body. If it is dirty, idle may be rough. Open, clean, reinstall.

Does your steering vibrate when you apply the pedal brake? Is that what you meant in the penultimate sentence?
