MY Experience With Very Stingy Parents.... Share Yours... by TOTOnigga: 7:34am On Jul 17, 2021
Hello guys.... I don't just know.. Is it just me or is there anything I don't understand......my parents are rich people especially my dad, I know that for sure... someone paying #950,000 naira per year as school fees for me aside other expenses, plus multiple houses and lands I can't even keep count of....

How come they are this stingy? There is no time I would ask them for money for my own personal well being or any of my personal needs that they would like to assist me. I once ask mum for #12,000 naira just to buy a fairly used android phone (when I know they can even afford me an iPhone x) but she told me I should wait till months end before she gives me saying there is no money on ground... it's five months now and still nothing (not waiting for it though)...

Then I ask my dad, he told me I don't need an android phone... telling me that phone makes people unserious and other types of bulls*it( a 19 year old student for that matter)

Any expenses that is not book or academic related is not important...my parents would rather buy clothes for me than give me money to buy clothes... sometimes I end up not wearing some of them..

The funniest part is that, anytime I take any urgent lie(Asin scam) about any payment in school...they wouldn't Waits a second to send it to me... This has got me telling all sorts of lies just to get what I know can be gotten honestly.. It has even gotten to the point that any money that enters my hand now, I use it to play sports betting to see if I can get enough money for what I need, but I end up loosing the money...I am just frustrated.. someone time I wish I didn't even have rich parents cos what's the point...

My parents where not stingy, they where just poor. however, my dad manage to pay my WAEC fee after the SSCE, I go do mistake further my school instead of learning hand work embarassed

Modified,

@opp,

please and please, try as much as possible to quit betting.

E get why.

Part of the why is this
If you make gambling a habit, you will start selling you parents properties one after the other, untill u sell everything u could possibly inherit from them. And that's when your eyes will clear.

I should not come here and star telling ppl I was born with silver spoon when I know for sure "without a silver spoon is my case"

I can't come and go and start deceiving my self.

The greatest lie is self deception.

It's normal naa.. you gatz to lie to get cash from them especially when you need it urgently. And the only way to do so is by telling them you have school stuff to take care of. I know what you talking about. But it's not like they're stingy. They're just thinking they're protecting you from the outside world which in the other sense as a human being, will always devise another means to get what they want either by hook or crook. Just be guided. Don't fall into the hands of bad kids or else, you'll skid off your track.

It's simple as ABC, think of what you would do legitimately to survive if you hadn't rich parents. Period.

For the sport bet. It's seems that already seen prospect of a gambler in you. You must do all you can to stop that habit.

I'm glad you didn't mention that you are lacking food...Your parents are adults so it's going to be very hard to change that stinginess in them but What you can do is to groom yourself to be a better person (self improvement). Please forget about gambling and focus more on your career. One advantage of having a rich parents is that your career is definitely secured after you graduate . Trust me your parents will do anything for you to have a good job. Most parents want their children to be the best version of themselves so your future is secure you should be happy.. forget all these worldly stuffs, they won't take you anywhere. You think your dad used iphone before he became successful?. If gadgets are very important in your line of career then you should get one of your top academic staff in your faculty to talk to your parents, they will surely listen and comply..... You Can get all the clothes and gadgets you love when you start earning from your career.

Different strokes for different folks.
How heartbroken your parents would feel once they find out you're gambling.
Gambling is a habit that leads to perpetual poverty. If I were you, I would come up with a business plan that would continually fetch me money. Pitch your business ideas to your parents (a reasonable one pls). That way, you'll see how difficult it is to make money and I guess you'll appreciate your parents more.

With the way and manner you write English language, I think your parents are super smart to deny you some things you don't necessarily need.

Meanwhile if the man go party the next day he will go and spoil everybody with drinks and all sorts of orisirisi and even give some people money for transport.

In a nut shell, he no care about him children welfare but will rather use the money to be impressing outsiders.

I can never forget around 2013 I was in school then. I asked this man for 20k he just dey squeeze face. Next Saturday he don buy Toyota matrix wey he no even need. Meanwhile he get like 3 motor for house e no fit even reason give him pikin one make e dey manage. Chai na why I like hausa people Sha. They love their children alot.

Considering the type of education you have, this looks like they are only passing a message across to you; for you to sit up & do something worthwhile for yourself. They might not really be stingy but disciplined. I'm afraid they were not born with silver spoons.

Well, I do not expect any bettor to speak better. I really pray you make a U-turn before betting makes a mess of your life.

Your last paragraph sums everything up. You don't have access to funds and you're playing sports betting. What will you play if you have access to funds?

I'm sure you move around with questionable guys and probably drink, party, womanize and use drugs alot.

You really need to be appreciative to your parents. They don't want you to focus on their wealth and are trying to encourage you to the outside the box and make yours too.

You may call it stinginess, but we long as they're covering the basic things they should (and buy clothes for you instead of giving you the money as you mentioned up there) they're carrying their weight.

It's your responsibility to carry yours, which you've refused to do.

You should WORK to get a phone for yourself and not depend on them to get one for you. It's NOT their responsibiliy.

I've been buying phones for myself since I was 19 and my brothers have been buying for themselves since they were much younger. Around 14 or so. They always saved up and worked for it. You should too.

When you do, you'll appreciate labor and hardwork and respect money.

Which do you want to be?

The spoilt, proud rich kid who doesn't appreciate money and lives on daddy's money for the rest of his life...

Or the well-trained humble average kid who appreciates money and lives on his own cash.

Choose one and choose wisely.

You want android phone. Students in covenant uni don't use phones too n they didn't die. Which phone u take open this thread?

You want YOUR type of clothes? Are u wearing rags currently?

To make matters worse, u be gambler too.

You have no idea what those parents go thru. Why do u think your parents are rich because they decided to prioritise Ur education?

Your parents should register u at a mechanic shop, seems u will waste their school fees.

CALM D FUK DOWN. GRADUATE, GET A JOB AND BUY YOUR OWN DAMN SHIT.
