I received a medical request from IRCC and I've done the medicals...I used Qlife and they gave me a sheet called Emedical information sheet.......Please is there any action required from my end i.e. Am I supposed to send this Emedical information sheet to IRCC??... or the hospital will send my results directly?

I'm asking because I did the medicals two days ago and no update has been made to my application. 30 days given to me expires in 10 days time.

Please help

Are the following allowed when travelling to Canada from Nigeria?

Fried meat
Groundnut oil
Dried fish

You can come with your groundnut oil and dried fish but meat is not allowed. Please see the screenshot for more info.

Thanks a lot for your response ...but I think I didn't communicate my question clearly..
So I did not do upfront medicals actually....

In May, I booked a date for medicals for 16th July 2021........... The request from IRCC dropped on 28th June 2021 so I just waited for the date I already booked and went for the medicals with the form IRCC sent....

After the test, the hospital gave me the Emedical information sheet......So do I still need to send it to IRCC or the hospital will send my results

Medicals takes about 3-10 days for it to be updated on your profile.

This is just the second day, Champ.

Hopefully, it should be updated before this new week runs out.

Send the Emedical information sheet via webform and email to lagos office.

All the best.

Please do you have dollars to sell at this rate?
Biko! If u do, pls I need o

Once you secure visa on your passport, pease buy your dollars from any Nigerian bank through form A. It's better that way.

Nigeria banks now sell USD to individuals via Form A? Be sure of the information you pass across!

The prevalent services of Form A are utilised:
Medical bills
Training Courses
School Fees
Mortgage

I believe the list goes on, but not for the purpose of exchanging currency and travelling with.

For this purpose, it's either a Personal Travel Allowance or Business Travel Allowance and one will need a TWO WAY FLIGHT TICKET as proof to obtain and can only apply two weeks before your travel date.

Please note this is still not a guarantee that you will receive the usd/euro or pounds you need as it depends on availability of the currency.

He meant to say Via PTA.

Even when you are buying BTA or PTA, you still need to fill the form A "form" in some banks. I know of some banks. -

Either BTA or PTA, most banks I know (can't say for all) will still give you the form A "form" to submit with your other documents. Duly completed Form “A” is a requirement

So technically, he is correct.

As long as you're able to provide MyBankStatement certificate and IELTS, you're good. That's the requirement for so called NSE.

Since it was a request, just relax it's going to be updated. I really admire you being proactive and your booking was just right on time.

This is true, but the two way ticket thing is where the issue is.

Hello great people,
So, I received my GCMS notes last night. Eligibility shows "Recommend Interview". My Eligibility review already started though.
However, I see a lot of "FILE AND/OR APP TRANSFER" on my notes. Is this usually the case? Will this cause any form of delay?
I'm thinking to send a webform/email to all these offices to ask for updates. Perhaps, it will nudge them to take a look at my file.

Please Gurus in the house, your responses will be greatly appreciated.

Lekiboboe:

Ok Chief.

Dope CGPA you got there, but it's not always about CGPA alone, you need some other intellectual packaging, so you can be able to submit a strong, airtight application that can make you stand out, cos graduate school application in Canada, USA , etc. is damn competitive.

That being said,
take your time & go through the contents in the link below. All you need to know about Graduate School application, GRADUATE SCHOLARSHIP, how to get across to a Professor you have something in common with (in terms of Research Areas) is there. There is also an ACADEMIC CV attached there, draft it base on your ACADEMIC profile & Educational Background. Anything you see on that Academic CV that you don't have e.g Publications, ignore it
https://www.nairaland.com/6567181/canadian-student-visa-thread-part/321#103487629

In your best interest, to avoid any form of disappointment, don't put all your eggs in one basket by applying to only Simon Fraser University, there are lots of Canadian Universities offering Computer Science with lots of Research Areas. It's not a bad thing if you get multiple admission/Graduate Scholarship Opportunities in more than 10 Canadian Universities.

See the link below for;
Universities in Canada offering Computer Science (more than 35 universities)
https://www.universitystudy.ca/search-programs/?k=Computer+Science&program_level_merged=Master%27s+degree&program_language=ENGLISH

Google and Explore them all.

In order to increase your chances of getting admitted to a Graduate school in Canada, your RESEARCH INTERESTS in COMPUTER SCIENCE is very important. There must be a Particular research area or research areas in Computer Science you want to work on for your thesis-based Masters degree. It's those Professors whose Computer Science research Areas aligns with yours you should do research on before mailing them (Cold Mail). The contents in the link below will guide you on that.

So take Bull by the horn!!! Good luck

I think this is true. I submitted with mbs, IELTS result and upfront medical. My eligibility review started 2weeks after (3days after my biometrics), I guess because I did biometrics late maybe it would have even started earlier.

Application submitted May 14th, I am waiting for PPR already grin grin

He didn’t quote his answer properly, when you get your study permit and about to travel, book your ticket with your airline and take the ticket with your study permit to a bank, ask that you want to do PTA, should be given dollars at the CBN rate but only to $4000 I think.

Don't waste your time going to Access bank o, those people are just liars. They would make you go through all the wahala but won't give you the funds at the end of the day.

Why not, Yes you can...

So far you have the required funds for your school fees and your stay in Canada, sitting pretty cool in your account.. And if you are married, you must also have the required amount to take care of the family members you are leaving behind in Nigeria...

Peace.
