chrisooblog: I will repeat again. The man is educating us, letting us know that playing or participating in sporting programs during this time is supporting the government. Keep in mind, educating. So telling us in the past, no one complained means that you are missing the context. He wants those ladies and also the men to keep that in mind. That they are supporting the government without realizing it. No need waving the gender card to spur sentiments. Stick to the point the man raised. You might disagree with his notion. However, from listening attentively to him, Nigerian youths should not support this government in any shape and manner. This includes, playing for Nigeria. 1 Like |

jihday: Your passport shows where you are from. However, the man is not just against playing for Nigeria. But, someway, showing your disapproval. He said, this is my way of doing something. However, acting like all is well is wrong because all is not well. The country is bleeding. If pulling out of playing is a statement, they have done something. |

TheGoodJoe:he's not educating anything or anybody. If you wants to exact real change he should go to the Nigerian embassy lodges his complaint or protest not be forming voltron against innocent women. Like some people have educated you Nigeria has had bad governance for so long so using an excuse of today's bad governance won't fly. People like Gani fawehinmi during the days of abacha didn't harass our sportsmen but directed his energy through the right quarters to try and change the status quo. Like somebody rightly said if you insist that you represent this government please throw away your passport and refuse to go anywhere under the name Nigeria after all you are representing buhari and his government |

Watch the video from start. The guy said he wanted to address them. The officials thought maybe he had something important to tell the girls as a Nigerian that was why he was allowed in. Even the girls had to stop what they were doing in order to listen to him, not knowing he is a mad man. The law over there does not allow for forceful removal except you are an officer of the law. It was sudden and unexpected. chrisooblog: |

TheGoodJoe:you keep saying pretending all is well how have the girls display that? By showing up to play football and enjoy each other's company? |

chrisooblog:No need repeating the same thing over again. You can't lecture someone who has decided to stick to his opinion no matter how foolish it is. |

chrisooblog: That is the man's point. He is giving us his view as a former footballer. We should sit down and reflect on his point. To an extent, I agree with his point. All is not well. |

fabyom:ok but then again is it any random person that comes that says he wants to address you you will just allow like that? I would understand if he was some VIP but a random stranger? The officials should have done better. Anyway what has happened has happened they should just learn from the experience and better secure the ladies next time. 1 Like 1 Share |

TheGoodJoe: Can you please help explain to us how they playing is supporting the government. Like someone said yesterday, hope you get ride of all the benefits you've enjoyed from the government and wait till after this regime is over so as to show that you aren't supporting the government. Hope you also call for the boycott of the Super Eagles qualifiers coming up later in the year and the Nations Cup coming up in January to show that the players are not supporting the government. |

chrisooblog: For Christ sake, that man just went viral and I can bet, every Nigerian sports person, whether a journalist, basketballer, footballer, blogger etc. watched that video and got some strong messages. Believe it or not, agree it or not, that man screamed very loud and many heard him. He contributed someway. |

fabyom: spoken like a true northerner... there's a difference between hate and profiling... when a whyte person attacks anyone of African descent then it is usually considered to be racial attack, when an African attacks another African of a different African ethnicity then it should also be considered a tribal or ethnic attack. the resources I'm talking about would have belong to independent countries if bri:tain had separated ethnic nations that already had sizeable population but they didn't... so you can keep sponsoring your j:ihads and anti-south mantra... I don't care, I am not calling for Nigeria's to separate, besides Nigeria is not a nation, its a group of nations. |

TheGoodJoe:Hope are acting that all is all? Hope you carry long face around your neighborhood and everywhere you go to show that all is not well in Nigeria going forward since the man has taught you that to show your grievances you shouldn't be seen smiling at all. |

TheGoodJoe:Uganda, South Africa, Egypt, India have all faced internal issues. Have you ever heard that their players pulled out from a major competition? Syria has been fighting a civil war since, and their president is very rogue. However they have an active national team playing ever since. They almost qualifed for the 2018 World Cup. I don't know how many times you need to hear this, but they are not playing for Buhari. Nigeria will remain even when we both are dead. Infact, pulling out for such a reason could attract a FIFA ban. 1 Like |

kingphilip: On a serious note, I have nightmares. I wake up some nights panting and shivering. My heart pounds when I see the internal organs of women killed and beheaded. I find living a normal life difficult when I think of children beheaded and burnt in FGC Buni Yadi. I get frightened when I think of farmers massacred. Or innocent women trying to learn abducted in Universities. My heart aches when I think of the horror the victims of Lekki toll gate shooting went through. I might wear a smile once in a while. I might laugh sometimes but my heart pounds and aches always. That is the pure truth. 1 Like |

TheGoodJoe:please the man is a coward he knows who to talk to 2 table his grievances. He will now go home and be forming activist. So so what do you want the girls to do start abusing buhari on camera? Please let's be realistic. Even Megan rapinoe as much as she detested Trump didn't use the American national team to start making political statements even though the government at the time did many things they didn't support. Buhari will come and go Nigeria at least for the foreseeable future will remain the same way abacha and so many others came and went. |

JohnBullMySon: I repeat. The man made his point and I think he has spurred a necessary debate. He also sent a loud message. He believes playing for the National team under this government is supporting the government. You might agree or disagree. However, it is worth thinking and debating about. I agree with him. |

Nigeria will always find a way! That is the simple truth. Where are Tompolo, Asari, and co? today? When Tompolo was angry, Akpabio, Omo Agege and Sylva were there to quench his anger. All the politicians are benefitting from the system na the poor masses dey fight one another. Look at the electronic transmission, for example, do you expect any rep from the south to vote "No" but they did. Sout-west, South-south and South East each have at least one Rep that voted no. If they kill anybody in this Nigeria nothing will happen! humility33: |

TheGoodJoe: if the people who are losing their lives and living in fear value a life then they should also at:tack the people that are k:illing them. the killings started from when f:ulanis were welcomed by the h:ausas with the approval of their e:uropean masters.. the br:itish used h:ausas and f:ulanis militants to carry out attacks, ra:pes, burning down of communities other ethnic nations that didn't agree with the br:itish from the early 1800s till 1914 and the h:ausas and f:ulanis militants was converted to what is now the Ni:gerian P:olice Fo:rce and mil:itary.. the kill:ings didn't start in 2021, you just hear of it more because of technology.. |

codemaniacs: I think it is insensitive to say attack back. The killers are with sophisticated AK-47 riffles. The villagers are unarmed. So attacking back is out of it. With a government and a system that pets these bandits, it is literally difficult to think of attacking. Either way, the slaughter is going on and something needs to happen to stop it. |

Aside the fact that I just remembered them preparing for the Aisha Buhari invitational tournament, I don't see any reason why the man will feel they are supporting the government. Another issue I had him say was that over 10 million Nigerian youths are unemployed outside Nigeria. I now wonder what those 10 million youths are still doing there instead of coming back home to better their lives by voting in someone who is capable of turning their fortunes around through good policies. He is even paying his tax over there too. He should come back here, invest and pay his tax here too to help improve things sha. For the man not to differentiate between the Super Eagles and Super Falcons shows that him no well at all. |

TheGoodJoe:That one too is not allowed. Leave everything Super Eagles of Nigeria entirely. Unless the player of Nigerian origin is playing for England or has never been invited to camp before. Also the comments about them should be outside this thread. This is Super Eagles not Nigerian origin thread. That's when I'll know that you're serious ![]() |
