My landlord is a very understandable person. Because of space which occupies my apartment. I made it clear to him that, i only need 6month to get myself together and leave. He agreed and i paid him half a year.
He was even surprised i was leaving cos he wanted me to stay.. I normally call him a month to his rent and ask him to send him account number. Which i pay in full.
It's because you have a conscience your landlord is good to you, if you were a constant defaulter you think he'd give you the time of day to even negotiate?

My own care taker that wanted to kick me out 1 week after my rent expired.

Ideally, you really shouldn't wait before your rent expires. 1-second after your rent expired, you become an illegal occupant.

How do you recover your damages fee when you are about to leave at the expiration of your rent? The damages fee(50,000 naira) was paid at the point of packing into the house

What about locking the door against a tenant that's owing you?

If you are a land lord/lady and ever had issue with a tenant and you followed due process in evicting a tenant you'd know know that tenancy laws in Nigeria clearly favours the tenant. One idiot after owing rent for one year, I served her quite notice all I wanted was for her to vacate the house I didn't asked for the rent o, do you know after the six month notice expired this woman was still there with her family, court gave her one more week she was still there and was even saying she is even happy that I took her to court. Walahi next time I want to evict a tenant I either use force or go spiritual.

Lol, some landlords too are very crafty
Whenever my landlord wants to increase his house rent, he made it look like he wants u to leave the house, expecting u to come begging then boom, he breaks d news to you right there that there's been an increment. You re left between the devil and the deep blue sea.

He does this every year
This year I have decided to shock him by not going to meet him, I will simply pack to a better apartment once my rent expire. He has initiated the strategy again already. And his wife nicer becomes than before, pumps water steadily now (Before u have to practically beg her before she pumps water) some igbo landlords are something else!

I stayed in a house where I leave with landlord in the compound. I have been in that house since two years and I paid my rent constantly. The problem is, the house is not in others and anytime I paid my rent I always remember my landlord to repair his house but fail to listen to me. When the money I paid to him is correct he never listen to me again.
Now,my rent is due for two months and is threatening me that we are going to court but I promise never to pay him until we go to court.
