I currently stay in a room and palour self con in an area at ajegunle. The cost of rent of is almost 300k per annum. Lagos is indeed an expensive place to live in

These prices is it inclusive of Damages, Agent and Agreement fees? Bexa6 I know you can't rent a house without these three fees

The thread is specifically for 2 bedroom flats in Lagos. People married and with family can't live in a single room. Also these amounts will certainly not be sufficient in building a house till completion. It won't even buy land in Lagos. So all this one you are saying, we all said it before.

Honestly, I once thought the average working person in that metropolis earned at least twice more than his counterparts in other states to necessitate the outrageous cost of living till I spent some time there, and was shocked that people paying so much even earn less than people paying less in other states...

Let me be a little more illustrative: Imagine a person paying 600k yearly for rent for a 2-bedroom flat earning the very same salary as another paying 280k yearly rent for a far better accommodation in Asaba or Warri! Like, it's not like companies pay you more for working and living in Lagos compared to your colleague of the very same company (E.g. Banks) in Owerri, Asaba or Ibadan.

How does this even begin to make sense??!... What better utilities and facilities do you enjoy in Lagos compared to your mates in other states??! Na wa o!

This list is garbage and the prices are reduced , understated seriously.

Lagos is an overhyped shithole! Very congested, highly polluted, filty and over populated. Full with inadequated people, criminals and thugs.


I would rather live in the village than pay to live in shithole Lagos. I stayed with my friend in his flat some where in AKUTE and i liked it although the roads leading to Akute are bad and it was very far from MMI Aiport.

I can relate, one of my uncle rented room and parlour self contained in ketu around teeper garage in 2015 at 450k. The sitting room was so small and he's still shared toilet and bathroom with someone in old house oo.only God knows how much it will cost recently. Cost of living in Lagos is too expensive.

You are absolutely right in your narration and that is the major issue affecting many lagosians today no wonder if most retire today only few has little or nothing to rely on due to the cost of living, expenses etc....

I have a friend based in Asaba with his family... His company (Private) offered him a little raise to relocate to one of their Lagos branches. My guy outright told them to double the money or forget it (i.e pay him twice as much) that any insistence would mean his resigning. The management had to give the matter a rest being that the guy is quite valuable to them, and they were not ready to let him go nor meet his transfer demands.

450k? Maybe i should go an invest in self contain properties in Lagos. Even though i wouldn't live in Lagos myself. Village is the best, I love village.

You cannot get it for that price in Chevron or VI

Maryland -Anthony is darn expensive right now.
Self contain ( room with bathroom & toilet) is 400k as at last month.
But inside onipetesi estate, Mangoro behind the Local airport is a bit decent. One can get 1bedroom flat for 250k excluding agency & agreement. The environment is serene enough.
The only issue i have with the area is the ikeja along traffic and the drive down to Dopemu underbridge to navigate back to the estate.
Aside this, the area is a good and convenient place to live.
