Good day house. I am currently trying to figure out the exact meaning of this Gcms notes because its very confusing and I am also consulting with other people on it.

NOTE: In the application letter, there was never any mention of my spouse coming to VISIT me, however, there was a clear indication of her applying for SOWP and the main purpose was family reunification.

Hi. I might be wrong but maybe you should consider this: I think the GCMS note shows that they have already granted your SOWP for which they don't need to provide you a letter of exemption to travel because it is a nondiscretionary trip but they received a webform that your spouse and child planned to visit for just a month not to stay and possibly extend stay so this means that it is no longer non-discretionary. The policy on the website states that for it to be nondiscretionary, it must be beyond 15 days (a month is longer but they might think it is too short if your visa is much longer. Hence the revert to a regular TRV). TRVs are nondiscretionary.

I might be wrong but I couldn't take the chance that you might not consider this and possibly rectify the situation.

Yes, I have sent an email and webform to Nairobi this morning stating that the purpose of travel is strictly for reunification of family via open work permit and not with any intention of visiting. I also attached the gcms notes, proof of relationship, letter of application for authorization which was submitted earlier, spouse TRV, study permit, and passport data page. This afternoon, I as the spouse in Canada has contacted the MP office in my area and they have requested for information on the application so as to ask IRCC the status of my wife's application.

ok, that makes sense. well done. if you raise any web form, quote specific dates of their coming and departure. let departure be your own visa expiry. I just realized from speaking with my school migration consultant that they want to be sure you're staying, contrary to what we think.

May our testimonies come sooner than later IJN.

I think YES because it is still technically a temporary visa category. Although, it may not be as rigorous as a student or visa visa. My own opinion.

Guys common now, if I keep responding to pms about hubby's application how will this thread grow? Pls ask any questions on here so others can also benefit from my responses. Sincere apologies but I will not respond to any pms anymore; it is all for the benefit of the group which was instrumental to a successful application for my entire family. All documents submitted were gotten from this group, all you have to do is read from page 1, I will still post the complete list of documents on here though but pls note that everyone's situation is different so feel free to add or remove as applicable to your own case. Will post over the weeknd. For today pls let me go and watch netflix and sip red wine in celebration and anticipation of hubby's arrival. He he smiley

Does upfront medicals mean you did the medicals yourself before request by IRCC?

I lodged my application on 16 April 2020
Did Biometrics on 20 April 2020 and updated on same day.
Since then, no IME request.
What is happening?
Should I just go and do the medicals on my own without waiting for IRCC?

Please can you share the emotional mail you sent? Biko

This is it:

Pls try not to copy and paste o, use only as a template

I am xxxxxx (previously known as xxxxxx) with international passport number xxxx and Fanshawe College Student ID: xxxx. I am a Nigerian, a temporary resident of Canada and I am currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Business Management at the Fanshawe College.

I am married to Bleep who currently has before you, an application for a spousal open work permit with details as follows:

ü Principal Applicant: xx

ü Unique Client Identifier (UCI): xx

ü Application number: xx

ü Medicals passed: May 19, 2021

ü Date Received: March 15, 2021

ü Biometrics:

o Biometrics Number: xx

o Date of Biometrics Enrolment: March 19, 2021

o Expiry Date: March 19, 2031

I am writing to enquire into the status of this application.

I came into Canada with my 2 little girls (xx and xx) on December 29, 2021. My programme which commenced in January 2021 is for a two-year duration, to end in 2023. Wearing the dual hat of both mum and dad to my children alongside pursuing my post graduate studies has been extremely hard and not only am I on the verge of breaking down completely, but it also beginning to affect my studies as evidenced in me bagging distinctions in all my courses in the winter term, but was only able to make 2 distinctions in my mid-term result released just last week.

The effect on my little girls of my family being separated since we left Nigeria for Canada constantly breaks my heart as well. I try to be a pillar of support to them but at this point nothing seems to be working anymore. There is nothing I can do to comfort and console them of their dad’s absence and the long processing time. Father’s day celebration with my husband streaming into Bleep’s classroom to celebrate father’s day with her was supposed to be a pleasant surprise but seeing other children sitting on their father’s laps and getting physical hugs and cuddles was too much for my 6years old to handle; she was completely shattered and broken. Going grocery shopping has become a nightmare as she would often have melt downs each time a child walks past with the father. Both their appetites are also often lost during meal times as soon as they approach the dining table, staring at the empty seat where their father is supposedly to be sitting. Taking them to the parks, organizing socially distancing play dates for them, going on walks, and spending quality time with them no longer works as it only brings memories to them of happy moments together “as a family”.

Children do not have the ability to easily adapt and cope with being separated from one/both of their parents for an extended period of time. They need the love, support, attention and endearing presence of BOTH ‘mummy and daddy’ especially in their formative (0-cool years and feelings of abandonment and separation anxieties do not fit well into this mix. There is also an ache in the heart of parents when their families are separated as research has shown that long-distance parent-child relationships can bring down even the most resilient of parents. I am mentally and emotionally exhausted. My husband is also depressed with each day that passes by without him not being reunited with his family.

I am aware that family reunification is one of the 3 pillars of Canada’s immigration; with its policies and legislations having a long tradition of supporting family togetherness. Following this, I appeal to you to make it possible for my family and I to be together for the 2 years of my study duration as this will help to build our marriage, motivate performance in my academic pursuits, and boost the emotional and mental wellbeing of both myself and my girls, a void which can only be filled by my husband and their father.

Many thanks for your kind consideration.

Yours Sincerely,
