Sorry about this. It’s good to get your gcms note and know what the VO want. It may be insufficient funds. I just got my past refusal note and d VO was concerned that the funds demonstrated (35k Cad) was not sufficient to pay for my studies and also for my families in Nigeria. This is shocking considering my spouse is working and still making enough to cater for the family. I also paid 8k+ from my first semester tuition.
Repackage ur application, get co sponsor if possible and let them pay your LE into ur acct as commitment. May God help us all to get our PPR

Securing admission in Canada is not easy at all
@Lekiboboe, please suggest courses
and colleges/universities for someone following;
BSc Accounting (2/2, 2008)
Msc Policy Analysis (2016)
ANAN (2017)
Over 10 years work experience as an Internal Auditor in a Federal Government agency.
I need to get an admission ASAP.
THANK YOU
Based on your 10 years Work Experience as an Internal Auditor , you can go for a PG. Cert in Accounting, but it's more better you go for a more specialized PG. Cert accounting program that has course outlines in;

- Fraud investigation
- Law
- Criminology
- Forensic Accounting
- Computer forensics
- Data mining
- Advanced financial accounting
- Auditing theory
- Accounting ethics
- Taxation of business entities etc.

In another instances, you can choose a PG. Cert Accounting program that has audit specialization, including courses that cover topics like:

- Applied auditing
- Accounting for acquisitions and mergers
- Advanced auditing
- Information management and analytics technology

Reason are, you won't just be going for a conventional accounting program since you are a B.SC holder in Accounting, and your 10 years job experience as an Internal Auditor is more on accounting, you should be going for a course in another dimension of Accounting & Auditing

That being said,

See the link below & google the Accounting related PG. Cert programs, check their course outlines, overview, tuition amount for international students, admission intake etc. make your choice then apply

Well, you can order GCMS notes every month until you get your PPR, if you chose.
However, GCMS notes is not always necessary. what necessitates GCMS is, when your application has over stayed or when you feel nothing is really happening with it, of which you can only claim this if your application is up to 3 months without visible works reflecting on your dashboard like change in Eligibility or something like ghost update.
I think you should just relax, with fully funded Programs, you're most likely to be approved and besides, your application is young.

Can I use a Visa card in place of a MasterCard to pay tuition. The tuition webpage says Mastercard, but can I use a Visa card? Someone said I could, but I want to be sure.

Also, how do I show proof of receiving rent from rented properties? I have taken a survey of my properties. Can I just state it in my statement of purpose or do I need additional documents?

Thank you for all your messages.

Application submitted (NSE o) - April 14

Upfront medicals was done before application was submitted.

Eligibility review status updated - July 21st

PPR and Correspondence letter - July 26th

Like I mentioned here before, my study visa to Australia was denied twice in 2019. I knew my chances were low because I applied for a certificate program (Post-secondary) despite having a BSC already. After the second refusal, I gave up on traveling.

My sister (sponsor) reached out to me sometime in February and urged me to consider Canada. For some reason, I was of the opinion that masters was the only option. In fact that was the reason I didn't consider Canada in 2019. After some research, I applied for a post graduate certificate in Global Business Management (Centennial College). Got my admission and I applied for student visa in April. The dreadful wait was long despite providing NSE documents. My PPR landed exactly 1:34am. @Teemenzo had stated over the weekend that my
PPR "will come soon like a thief in the night." And sure it did.

I must add that I'm not the most eligible applicant by a long stretch but like I do say, one must make the most out of every circumstance. My profile in it true self wasn't promising but certain things were in place and I leveraged on everything leverageable.

One of my biggest concern was proof of fund. I submitted my mum's account and sister's bussines account. The business account is the primary account. The balance was sufficient but my concern was that funds are never held for long periods (Red flag). She could have 15m today, and in the next couple of days, the balance could be as low as 100k and there was a period the balance was in negative figures -2m. I wrote the sponsorship letters myself, and I buttressed on some point I already stated in my SOP. Such as, Funds are not kept idle in the bank, they're held as inventories. In the sponsorship letter, I also stated my sister has a good standing status with her bank and is eligible to loan and overdraft facility. I mentioned I will be provided a monthly upkeep allowance of 1k cad. In the letter, I emphasized on my genuine access to funds and demonstrated it by having my sister send me 1.5 m to my account as upkeep allowance for the first quarter of my stay in Canada. I stated the date the fund for upkeep and tuition fee was provided to me. I didn't provide my personal account (I no get money sad. ) I transferred the fund provided to my barter virtual card. The card statement and screenshot of my account was submitted. At that time, the 1.5m was equivalent to about 3,200 USD. I would have preferred having the fund in a dormiciliary account of a recognised bank but time was no longer on my side.

In my SOP, I attached pictures where necessary, especially in regards to establishments. I also made my future prospect seem very promising in Nigeria. I disclosed my failures in business. "Setback" was the word I used and how studying in Canada will provide networking opportunities e.t.c I sha try to package myself wella

All in all, I consider myself fortunate and I am thankful to God. The information provided on this thread has been very useful. Special shout-out to @lekiboboe, @justmellow, @Frankrobbn1 and every other person that has one way or the other provided some sort of helpful contribution to this thread. Gracias to you all.

To those awaiting decision, I am wishing you all the best. And to those that got unfavourable decision, I have been in your shoes. If and when you decide to reapply, this community is going to be here for you. We all have the same goal.

Once again, I say thank you for all your messages.

Getting a visa as a Nigerian has always been difficult. Lemme burst your bubble and show you why location where you are applying from doesnt have any negative effect on your visa, do you know that as a Nigerian with Ghanaian resident/work permit, you could get 5 years USA visa when you apply from Ghana? Also do you know that as a Nigerian with Ghanaian resident/work permit, you would get a faster German visa appointment if you applied from Ghana? As a Nigerian with Canadian study permit, you can get 10 years USA visa if you applied from Canada. Location is never a barrier as long as you are legal in the country you're applying from.
This is not even about Nigerians. I'm referring to the experiences of Indians and Philippines living in UAE, Saudi Arabia e.tc. home tie becomes a bigger hurdle to study permit when you're an expatriate. One common question people ask on canadavisa.com when an applicant get refusal notification is "where did you apply from?". There's a reason for that. This is not based on assumption.

All will be well, stay calm.

It is a temporary inconvenience. If your plan is to stay post study, the long-term benefits of MSc or PhD in Canada outweighs the US.

It is true that the US study visa is easier and faster to get, especially for fully funded grad students.

It will all be worth it, may God crown all our efforts with prompt success.

There's a limit to the amount you can pay using a Nigerian card i.e 100usd. Your best option is to use form A, however it can be slow. You can also consider creating a virtual USD card using barter app. It's expensive sha. And finally, you can open dollar account in a bank and fund it with aboki dollar. The card you will be provided with for the account, has an higher limit.

I'm not the person handling the finances, so I don't understand everything you just said. What is Form A?

I will use Western Union to pay. The school platform's tuition tab connects me to Western Union. I have to input what I'm paying and then get a quote. From there, there are various options of payment, but I want to pay with the MasterCard. If it has a limit, can I pay repeatedly or what? I dont want to use black market rate because that will be higher than the normal Canadian dollar rates.

I hope I made sense. I can explain anything you don't understand. Just in case, what do you think is the best means of paying and how should I go about it?

Your sister should take her time to do a thorough research (google) on the following Post Graduate Certificate (PG. I believe you're referring to western union global pay. There's an option for bank wire transfer. Thant's Form A. Select it and download the invoice. You will take the invoice to the bank along with documents listed below.
* letter of Offer
* Passport
* Certificate
* NYSC certificate if applicable
It's stated that the invoice is only valid for 72hrs or so but don't worry your payment will be still be processed. Point that out to the bank. Sterling bank, UBA, Union and EcoBank are some of the fastest in payment processing. The estimated Naira equivalent of the dollar amount must be available in the account. All you have to do is wait for debit. Timeframe could be 1 week to a month.

I beg to disagree. If you're self sponsored, try to pay one year tuition, have enough funds for one year. If you have more, better. If you work, and you're on a study leave with pay, that covers it all. If you can fund a GIC, do so, if not, it's also fine.

U sef see d number of IFs that u added. This is just to show how difficult it could get when self sponsoring...

Meanwhile, I only said it's a recommended advice, I didn't say it's mandatory, therefore, we r both saying the same thing sir/ma...
