We just like duplication of offices and responsibilities; the fact that the road is in Niger-Delta does not remove it from the portfolio of the ministry of works which is the substantive ministry in charge of road construction.........why is NDDC involved, at the end of the year, there will also be a cost accounted for this in the FMW's budget/expenditure report?

Very Germane Question. I thought the EW road was included in the list of roads budgeted for by the federal ministry of works? Why should Ministry of Niger Delta have to wait for a protest by frustrated locals before arranging for emergency funds to commence remedial works?

What again is all this talk about compensation? Are they planning to further dualise the road which is already dualised or just to bribe key stakeholders in that area to sell off their conscience and look the other way whilst the road remains bad?

2.5 billion is not enough. A good chunk of Nigeria' s oil resources is located there including refinery and petrochemical plant is located there and the road is so bad, it has become a den for criminals

No matter how much you send/release to this region for development, they will share the money and still be complaining,.....
Our south south leaders/politicians are irredeemable

Useless leaders, this road is supposed to be one of the best roads in Nigeria, I don't understand why they refused to build this road, to bring out money is a problem.

any road or bridge not done by Julius Berger, especially in a marshy and difficult terrain like Niger Delta is a child's play. I can't understand why all the major roads and bridges in the north are done by Julius Berger, while the roads done in South-south and south-east are done by pure water contractors like ccecc and rcc under sukuk bond.
