I have experienced sim swap in the past. That had to do with some guys using a fake ID and their contact at airtel helped swap my sim. Then Access bank USD operation does not require pin.

Educate us a little about this possibility so we know how to protect our finance.

Sim swap is the new deal now....And possible your friend registered his fulls details ( card details, ccv, phone no) on a phished site, most common phished sites are Jumia, konga and betting platforms. That briefed flash was the sim swap process in order to get the same message that comes into your phone at that moment. So is possible this scammers have access to a spamming tool that does sim swap or cloning, if Is a u.s sim swap TMobile money can be used for it, but for nigeria I have no idea.

Another way these criminals steal money from people is through all these much room loan apps.

If you're the type downloading and taking ridiculous loans from these apps, they will harvest your details and use it to empty your account.

If you must take all these silly loans, use a dedicated account that is alway empty and only attach a bank card that is not your money card.

Criminals don't mind spending money building apps and giving out small small loans just to attack you when you have good amount of money in the bank.

My friend's account got emptied on Saturday by a fraudster using SPORTYPAY platform. An OTP was sent to him and immediately an unknown number flashed him. Shortly afterwards he started seeing debit alerts even without given out the OTP.

Getting to his bank today, he's been told the possibility of getting the money back is slim if not impossible.

Now, checking out the SPORTYPAY site, we discover that they don't have a standard or working platform, while Sportypay.ng automatically redirects to a porn site...

Also, there have been similar complaint online about same thing happening and same platform used to defraud other people of their hard earned money.

CONCERNS:
� Are customer's money still safe in the banks?
� Is it that the security network in the banks are now porous and vulnerable to cyber attacks?

Please those in appropriate authority should do something about this before it goes beyond control and possibly cause unwarranted depression and death at worst.
