I think they dnt lyk d sight of immigration lawyers cos I've hrd soo many cases dat once dose people involve an immigration lawyer they automatically sit up and do their job immediately. Anyway God will hlp us all. Amen

Please I need your help. I applied for family reunion from the UK, the whole process took about 2 months and 1 week. I got my visa to the glory of God but the issue now is that the travel Date is in October and I want to move it backwards(Aug/Sept). Does anyone here know how it works please or had such an experience before or know anyone who has? Kindly help with an answer if you can.

Yes, I indicated October and when I went to submit my documents, I was asked if I want to travel then, I said I would like to travel as soon as it is ready. The lady wrote ASAP on my application form. I will try to contact them tomorrow and see what they say. I honestly did not think about it that way when I wrote October and that's the mistaken on my part. I even told the lady I just wrote it to fill it up before she asked when I want to travel and I said anytime it's ready which made her write ASAP on the form. Thanks again.

Yes i have and they sent me a mail with a link that i should apply for a german passport for him since his father is a citizen and then send them a mail containing the reference number,Nigerian passport number with that they will book an appointment for me and send me an invitation

No dear, I don't just understand how dis ppl operate. My lawyer came for verification in June and Dat same June my husband was contacted 2 submit some documents which he did and they are done with him. But me I've not gotten a mail Dat my verification is completed till date... I am so confuse.

I probably didn't present my query right. My appointment was in June 2021. I haven't been contacted after that...

I benefited from this thread a lot while trying to figure things out myself so, I decided I'd help with some info of my own.


I'm a software engineer and recently got an employment offer from a german company. I already knew the wait time for the appointment was insane so even before the interview process concluded, I was already looking for alternatives. Then when I got the employment offer, I informed the employer about the crazy wait times and the ability to fast track. Thankfully they were already aware of the fast track process so they were happy to go that route.

They requested that my degree certificate be certified and I did that at the Ministry of Foreign affairs in Abuja. After they had this and other documents (reference letter from past employers, passport data page, mawista health insurance), they applied for the pre-approval from their end. I can't say exactly how long this took because I don't know when they applied but, I sent the final document they needed on October 15, 2020. They also sent me a bunch of documents I had to sign and get back to them.


The company informed me they got the pre-approval on November 2, 2020 and I applied for an appointment same day using the WITH Approval link. I got a response for an appointment same day as well for November 20, 2020. Went for the appointment with all my documents and some extras that the company sent me to submit along.

At the appointment, I made a mistake by not photocopying the extra documents the company sent me. I assumed they'd take it as-is and tried to explain the company asked me to just submit this alongside the application. But the man that attended to me was very agitated by this because according to him, they're not "original documents" and I needed to have copies. It was all a lot of documents and making two copies of all made no sense to me (I didn't tell him this lol, I just stopped talking because he started saying I was arguing even though I was just trying to explain).

Long story short, I only gave him the documents I had copies for and he added those to a docket/file and gave me to take in. But I still went in with the other documents. At the appointment the lady asked questions about why you want to go, how you got the job, future plans etc. Then she specifically asked for a document which wasn't in the docket, she said if I had it, it would be an instant visa approval and she kept repeating the German name of the document. I looked for it in the documents the company sent and I found it thankfully, it was the Federal Employment Agency approval (not to be confused with Vorabzustimmung or the "pre-approval" ).

She also complained about me not having copies of that Federal Employment Agency approval document but she took it. I used the opportunity to submit some other documents the company sent that I thought would help, like university degree recognition stuff.

On November 25, I got the approval mail and was asked to submit health insurance plus travel dates. Submitted the documents by November 26. The consulate sent back my documents by December 2, 2020 but DHL delayed and I got it all by December 4, 2020.

You are really confusing me... I always thought approval by Federal Employment Agency is Vorabzustimmung... I have another sealed document which I am to present at the embassy without opening, on it they wrote:

Landeshauptstadt München
Kreisverwaltungsreferat

is this what you are talking about?

documents sent:
1) hard copy of signed contract,
2) Erklärung zum Beschäftigungsverhältnis (that form they filled with Bundesagentur fur arbeit for Declaration of employment relationship)
3) arbeitsmarktzulassung which is from Bundesagentur fur arbeit (this is vorabzustimmung- the pre-approval from Federal Employment Agency document, right?)
4) letter of urgency (covid-19 restrictions related)
5) letter declaring that English is the primary language for work and any knowledge of German is not required.
6) and that weird small envelope that has a letter I am not allowed to open

They are asking that i submit the original and photocopy but this document is with them. How do i proceed in this situation. Do I have to make another declaration of age deposed to by your mother? Has anyone been in this sitauation before? Please advice

It must be signed by your mother,with the same signature she used during the lawyer verification.

The challenge now is that I do not know the signature mama used during the lawyer verification. Is there a way to find out? Can I request to see what signature she use for the lawyer visit because I do not mama will likely make same mistake. Please advice

I'm not sure if your situation is the exactly the same but I had a friend's wife that was asked to resubmit her affidavit of spinsterhood because the one she initially submitted had a forged signature. What actually happened in her case was that the affidavit carried her father's name but because he was sick at the time the document was done, her mum signed. Hence the discrepancy.

I would then ask, the first Declaration of Age you submitted, whose name is on it and who signed it? Was it your mum?

Have you spoken to your mum about this to even know if she has multiple signatures or if she can remember how she signed when the lawyer came for verification?

Don't need to worry much about it though, just have your mum do the new document and send it to the embassy. I assume this request was sent as part of your verification confirmation email, which is already done.
