Yes you can travel without a vaccination certificate. You just need a negative COVID test certificate. The test must be taken within 72 hrs of entry into Germany.

I got my visa to the glory of God but the issue now is that the travel Date is in October and I want to move it backwards(Aug/Sept). Does anyone here know how it works please or had such an experience before or know anyone who has? Kindly help with an answer if you can.

Just wanted to drop a message on how this went incase someone is in same situation as mine and would want answers based on where I applied from.
So I sent a mail to the embassy but not no response that day.

I went ahead to book an appointment again with them on 3/8/21. I filled a new application form, got a special delivery envelope, and went with some documents. When my number was eventually called, I told the V/O I was not there for a new application but only wanted to change my travel date. I showed her my visa and she asked why I wanted to change the travel date (move the date backwards) and I told her family reasons. She went in to get my file and apparently speak to her boss. After everything I was told to pay a new application fee (which I was prepared for). I tried handing her my nea application form and other documents I had with me, she said it wasn't necessary. She told me the visa had been approved before and she has all the details she need so I only need to pay. She also said the new travel date will be the date of visa approval.

Long story cut short, I received the new visa which was dated 5/8/21 on 6/8/21. I just thank God I wasn't waiting for a response and I went ahead to book an appointment with them because till date I didn't get a response to the email I sent.

Thank you for all your help and support. And for all those still in this process, hang in there, it will soon be over. Love and Light❤️

Even after u answer all d questions correctly. They'll still delay giving u visa all in d name of documents verification and sndin verification mail. Na God go hlp us . I hrd it's only in Nigeria they do all this long protocol bcoz we don turn "see finish " for their eyes.

Most of my questions have been ignored but please I need an answer for this one ... I received the original documents from Germany today and I am to proceed to book an appointment for a skilled immigrant visa. The issue is my certificate is not ready yet but I have my Notification of Result. That is what I used to register for NYSC too. I contacted my school and they said certificates for 2020 graduates are not yet ready. WIll this be an issue or Consulate won't bother since my Notification of Result was issued by the school to stand in for my certificate?

I need a response before my dad gets back this evening please so when he comes back I can book the visa interview ish today with him

My advice is to forward it to your company in Germany, explain everything to them and tell them to ask the Immigration authorities if it's okay.

I believe they will accept it but if it doesn't work out, prepare for a plan B and apply for a regular work visa. (Here you'll have to present your WAEC and primary school certificates) and then you can sort it out when you get to Germany

It's ur wife dat is in Germany dat is suppose to get a lawyer nt you in Nigeria. Another tin they look at is how ur wife bcame citizen, as in was she born there or was it by immigration. All d best dear.

This looks like the FEA Approval. What exactly are you worried about? As far as I remember, you only need your personal details when booking a visa appointment or has that changed? (Forgive my ignorance, I went through this process over 2 years ago)

I benefited from this thread a lot while trying to figure things out myself so, I decided I'd help with some info of my own.


I'm a software engineer and recently got an employment offer from a german company. I already knew the wait time for the appointment was insane so even before the interview process concluded, I was already looking for alternatives. Then when I got the employment offer, I informed the employer about the crazy wait times and the ability to fast track. Thankfully they were already aware of the fast track process so they were happy to go that route.

They requested that my degree certificate be certified and I did that at the Ministry of Foreign affairs in Abuja. After they had this and other documents (reference letter from past employers, passport data page, mawista health insurance), they applied for the pre-approval from their end. I can't say exactly how long this took because I don't know when they applied but, I sent the final document they needed on October 15, 2020. They also sent me a bunch of documents I had to sign and get back to them.


The company informed me they got the pre-approval on November 2, 2020 and I applied for an appointment same day using the WITH Approval link. I got a response for an appointment same day as well for November 20, 2020. Went for the appointment with all my documents and some extras that the company sent me to submit along.

At the appointment, I made a mistake by not photocopying the extra documents the company sent me. I assumed they'd take it as-is and tried to explain the company asked me to just submit this alongside the application. But the man that attended to me was very agitated by this because according to him, they're not "original documents" and I needed to have copies. It was all a lot of documents and making two copies of all made no sense to me (I didn't tell him this lol, I just stopped talking because he started saying I was arguing even though I was just trying to explain).

Long story short, I only gave him the documents I had copies for and he added those to a docket/file and gave me to take in. But I still went in with the other documents. At the appointment the lady asked questions about why you want to go, how you got the job, future plans etc. Then she specifically asked for a document which wasn't in the docket, she said if I had it, it would be an instant visa approval and she kept repeating the German name of the document. I looked for it in the documents the company sent and I found it thankfully, it was the Federal Employment Agency approval (not to be confused with Vorabzustimmung or the "pre-approval" ).

She also complained about me not having copies of that Federal Employment Agency approval document but she took it. I used the opportunity to submit some other documents the company sent that I thought would help, like university degree recognition stuff.

On November 25, I got the approval mail and was asked to submit health insurance plus travel dates. Submitted the documents by November 26. The consulate sent back my documents by December 2, 2020 but DHL delayed and I got it all by December 4, 2020.
