Abh contacted my husband 12th July for document submission
Abh confirmation visa mail sent to my husband that same 12th July 2021
Lawyer came on 20th July 2021 for verification
He went back to lagos ,submitted his report on 10th August to d embassy

Everything depends on d VO and d type of lawyer sent, d reason y my lawyer didn't come when he called was because of d insecurities happening in d East
Some persons will tell u it took like 4months ,2months, 1week,2weeks, 3weeks etc before dia lawyer came

Just pray for urs to be fast and be patient
Got a mail to submit my passport,travel insurance and print out of d mail with a hand written travelling date on 18th of August 2021

When you submitted your travel insurance how long did it take to get your documents back? I'm worried because I think I should send mine physically.
I had my interview on Friday 20th of august and I received an email the next Monday morning on 23rd that I should send my travel insurance and travel dates via email, courier or drop it myself. And I was asked to include copy of the email if I send physically. And they stated boldly in red that my travel date must be before 1st October which is my resumption date for work. I sent the documents that evening via email and I've been rethinking maybe I should have sent it physically, because I don't even know if they saw it self.

Like someone mentioned earlier, once you track the document with the courier company you used and it was delivered, be rest assured the embassy has it. I think it took almost two weeks before I heard back from the embassy after sending my passport and travel insurance via DHL.

Birth Certificate from National Population Commission or Declaration of Age deposed to by head of Family
Biographically old documents (older than 5 years) to verify identity (such as library card, baptism certificate, vaccination card etc.)
Work Contract with the German company/ organisation, including information on salary, specific duties, work conditions and time frame of the contract
Possibly: consent of the German Federal Employment Agency (may be obtained beforehand)
Prepaid courier envelope by any major courier service.

Also note that you can go for Blue Card which is an option only if your job offer meets the salary benchmark of 52k euros above. The required documents for the Blue Card is different, fund below;

Send through courier, it wouldn't take up to 2days for them to return it....dhl is d best,when u send just track it

Mine took 4mnths after my interview, maybe cos i stay in d east Bt pple who stay in Lagos, it's shorter, dts their advantage.

As you are already aware, family reunion visas ideally goes through a verification process. I believe as long as you have the necessary documents to prove the child is yours, there shouldn't be any problem

I only sent a personally signed letter of consent which my wife presented at the embassy at her appointment with the children and it was accepted without issues.
You can wait for others to contribute too.

As far as I know, the only "affidavit of consent" required for a child's family reunion visa as stated in the checklist is: Affidavit of Consent of the parent remaining in Nigeria for the relocation of the child
to Germany (if not personally present during application interview)

If this really applies to you, then it is done like every other affidavit at the court. Just tell them at the court, the purpose of the affidavit, which is that you are giving consent to the child to join the other parent in Germany. They will ask for personal details (names and possibly date of birth of everyone involved), draft it and then get it signed and stamped

My confusion is in the affidavit you added.
If it is affidavit, it has to be done in court.
If it is just a consent letter from someone say your spouse permitting you to join with the child(ren) then it's just a written letter. Could be handwritten or typed. It has to be signed too
