I called the embassy today and they told me I can't book visa interview to North Cyprus at the moment due to the covid pandemic.
Mr wip with oktb will one present proof of fund? Cause the lady I spoke with on the phone made mention of 5m as the pof.

You don’t need proof of Fund for OKTB.

Meanwhile since applicants from most African countries will only be allow into TRNC from August 15th and semester starts by September, they embassy might have not received directives to that, hence, that’s why the embassy or visa center talked about pandemic.

You may try the visa center again towards end of the month, I believe they must have received the directives by then.

Now OKTB is not yet confirmed it will be accepted, however, I have requested info from my immigration contact and Turkish airline by next week I shall know hopefully!

Baba am not trying to discourage you, but from small research I have made there is no job in this country, and thier school fees is much, is even better u go to turkey yea there is equally no much job in Turkey, but thier school fees is affordable with many universities, and u can easily find ur way in Turkey because is a big country than north Cyprus, that is not a recognised country in some places, even Ukraine is better, Kyiv is lively city, u will likely find something to do in Kyiv to make money, they have affordable tuition fee when compared to North Cyprus, is part of EU, u can easily enter Schengen legally as student, except u have enough money for this north Cyprus...no wahala, all the best but there are better countries to go than north Cyprus.

When you arrive in North Cyprus those fees that look small will become bigger. No one is here to discourage but if you can’t afford 5m for It’s visa it means you don’t have a good sponsor and that will make things hard. But GOODLUCK!

If you have a valid Turkey transit visa for sure you can buy 1 way flight ticket but if you don’t have a valid visa and you are using OKTOBOARD. You will need 2 way traveling tickets
Nnemuka:

Can students travel with a one way ticket ?

You will wait for the university to confirm your payment, then they will issue you an unconditional acceptance letter and tuition fee payment receipt. Then you will be needing those two documents for either Visa or OKTB.

This requires mainly: the unconditional acceptance letter, payment of tuition, international passport and original Olevel result and a Turkish airline return flight ticket. Meanwhile, for the upcoming semester as I stated before Turkish airline and immigration are yet to clarify on OKTB policy or visa regulations considering the country of applicants. So kindly wait and take time to study Turkish embassy website Abuja.

North Cyprus (TRNC) does not have a stipulated amount that a new student must have at the time of arrival, unlike South Cyprus that stipulates 2000 euro. But for TRNC, I encourage you to have cash that can pay for 1-year accommodation fees and some living expenses, so in case you are asked upon arrival or have an urgent need, you can present so much amount on the average 2000$.

The official currency of TRNC is Turkish lira which is used by stores, taxi, and 98% of outlets except for payment of Tuition fee which is often in Foreign currency.
However, different cities in TRNC tends to price accommodation in a different currency. For instance; Girne (the tourist city of TRNC) charges British pounds for accommodation, Lefkosia (capital city, where your school is located), most tenants demand Euro while Famagusta (student city where EMU is located) uses Turkish lira.

You can just convert your money to USD or EURO mainly for accommodation payment, while other lifestyle spendings will be TL. Yes, those Access bank and Stanbic ATM cards work and each bank has its own exchange rate and monthly/daily withdrawal limit.

Please wip I have paid my deposit of 1000euros to cyprus international university and it has been 3 weeks now, the bank has confirmed that the payment has been received.
What do I do to get my unconditional acceptance letter

Send your payment telex copy to CIU international office email or the email the send you the acceptance letter then request for the UAL, when your payment is received by the university they will send you the unconditional acceptance letter.

Oga wip, happy weekend. Please I want to confirm for a friend, she’s a student in EMU,she traveled to Nigeria some couple of weeks back and she’s coming back towards the end of the month. Now she’s worried that they will ask for student letter at the airport,I told her mucharat should cover that, since she’s coming back for fall semester. My question now is,does immigration officers at the airport ask for such from returning students? Thanks in anticipation.

Yeah mucarat is okay but based on recent rule for those old students coming back from red/dark red zone they stated that their student letter should be shown.

Since she is old student, she can register for her course prior to her arrival and ask EMU for student letter which will be accessible from her portal.

No, and the institution would not raise tuition rates just for Nigerian students. The fees for undergraduate programs are shown here and have remained the same since, with the exception of any further reductions granted during the Covid shutdown.

Thank you very much
Please how much is the OTB or is it for free

Because the OKTB is depending on ticket and service providers, it does not have FIXED pricing. It cost 130-180 thousand Naira last semester, according to some students who utilized it around April from your country (Nigeria). Have you attempted to obtain a visa? Visa is less expensive since you may buy a one-way ticket, whereas OKTB requires you to use a round-trip ticket.

I'm not sure what the current fee is, and for the students, I'm processing, I'm waiting for clearance from immigration first to see if they'll allow them to use it. I'm hoping to find out how much it costs this week. If I have approval from immigration, you may send me an email at the end of this week or early next week.
