NIGERIAN NAVY DENIES SAHARA NEWS REPORT OF ATTACK ON A NAVAL LOCATION IN THE NIGER DELTA

The attention of the Naval Headquarters has been drawn to a video clip of a purported attack by some security nuisances on a naval location in the Niger Delta in the Sahara "Misreporters". The Nigerian Navy wishes to categorically state that the video clip in question is a simulated assault on a militants location by Nigerian Navy Special Boat Service and only a disreputable news media would gobble such as fit for publication.

WRONG USE OF THE CHIEF OF ARMY STAFF (COAS) OFFICIAL PORTRAIT

Following the appointment and subsequent decoration of the Chief of Army Staff Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya, an official portrait was produced and disseminated to the media houses via various social media platforms and forums.

However, it has been observed with dismay that despite this, some media houses, defence correspondents and online media practitioners have persistently used the official portrait of the COAS when he was still a Major General in various command appointments.

In light of this, you are please requested to disregard all pictures of the COAS from his former Commands and use the approved official portrait attached below. All to please note and comply accordingly. Thank you for your usual cooperation.

COAS RATES NDA HIGH ON TRAINING OF CADETS

The Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt Gen Faruk Yahaya has rated the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) high for the level of training the premier institution has turned out relentlessly over the years in the service to the Armed Forces and Fatherland. This high level of training he said was demonstrated by Cadets of 68 Regular Course during the battle inoculation and firepower demonstration phase of Exercise Camp Highland.

The COAS noted that the Nigerian Army(NA) under his leadership will continue to support NDA in ensuring that it meets the critical task of training junior leaders for the Armed Forces of Nigeria. He further stated that the Commandant had earlier briefed on plans to review the training curriculum for NA Cadets in view of the dynamics of threats in the operating environment.

He reassured the NDA that the NA will continue to support the premier military institution intellectually and interms of infrastructural development. It is in pursuant of this objective, that the COAS authorised the issuance of 6 Gun Trucks and the posting of personnel to the Demo Battalion. This he further said will be consistent with the manpower holding of a typical infantry battalion in support of realistic training.

The COAS used the medium to congratulate the cadets for their hard work and determination throughout the 5 years of rigorous training at the Academy. He further challenged them to maintain the high standard of training the Academy has imparted on them, adding that they should continually seek for excellence when they are eventually commissioned into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

Earlier, the Commandant NDA, Major General IM Yusuf noted that Battle Inoculation was designed to expose cadets to real war situation in line with the objective of Exercise Camp Highland. This according to him was to evaluate cadets on the application of tactics, techniques and procedures in operations. Additionally, he said this will be done alongside administration and logistics in order to determine their eligibility for commissioning into the Nigerian Army.

The exercise commenced on 25 July, 2021 with the adventure phase at Shere Hills in Jos, Plateau Sate with map reading and other activities and later culminated into the tactical phase, as well as the Battle Inoculation and Firepower Demonstration phases of the exercise in Kachia in Kaduna State.

Major highlights of the events were novelty shooting of support weapons, presentation of souvenirs and inoculation luncheon.

This is embarrassingly scandalous.
Maybe, just maybe the people's loyalty lies with the Taliban because this whole issue doesn't just make sense at all. Pentagon and private Military contractors has cashed out big time fleecing the American treasury and unfortunately the Afghans were the pawns in the whole fiasco.

America military withdrawal was a big mistake, the Afghan military depend solely on Air support to function properly.
Afghan troops are already surrendering to the Taliban, even a governor surrender too.
They are sending 3000 troops to protect the embassy undecided

NAF ESTABLISHES OFFICE OF OMBUDSMAN

To enable those outside the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) have the opportunity to channel their complaints and grievances against the Service or its personnel, the Chief of the Air Staff has given the go-ahead for the establishment of the Office of the Ombudsman. The Office, which is also tasked with addressing complains by NAF personnel, will serve as an independent instrument that will provide an objective and compassionate channel for seeking redress.

In approving the establishment of the Office of the Ombudsman, the Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Oladayo Amao, took cognizance of the need to provide an avenue for those outside the Service as well as NAF serving personnel to ventilate their grievances against the Service for immediate resolution. This is because the CAS strongly believes that putting in place appropriate mechanisms for redress would ensure harmonious relationship and substantially reduce chances of disaffection, improve trust and confidence with the civil populace. Such mechanism is also aimed at increasing motivation and promoting personnel loyalty among NAF serving personnel. It should also be added that since the establishment of the NAF, its personnel have relied mostly on the provisions of the Executive Regulations in channeling their complaints for redress while in some cases, complaints were referred first to immediate superiors even when such complaints are against such superior officers. Also, many persons outside the Service have over time found it difficult to channel their complaints and grievances to the Service due to absence of a distinct channel. The new Office of the Ombudsman, thus, provides an avenue to address these issues.

Recall that in July 2021, Air Marshal Amao approved the establishment of the Directorate of Veteran Affairs in a bid to stimulate better welfare packages for NAF veterans and their families. The Directorate is, among other responsibilities, charged with interfacing with similar structures in sister Services towards harnessing necessary benefits for NAF retirees under existing Federal Government programmes for veterans. These efforts which are in tandem with Air Marshal Amao’s vision, ‘To enhance and sustain critical airpower capabilities required for joint force employment in pursuit of national security imperatives,’ are ultimately aimed at restructuring and reorganizing the NAF for better service delivery.

What if without air power, the us army and marine, won't be able defeat a much weaker enemy too??
But the truth is that the Afghan army doesn't have the will to fight, because they have no invested interests, same thing happened to our soldiers in the beginning of the boko haram war, as soldiers loose more in the fight, they become more bold in their fight.

This Taliban coming out of their caves to fight, is even the best means to defeat them, cut of their route back to the mountains, and engage them on multiple fronts , with overwhelming firepower with no where to hide. It would be a bloody war, but it will leave the victor with an imbalance of strength.

I dont think their arms will reach us but Kabul will fall in the next 30 Days to the Taliban and it will be a big win for global Jihadism because Russia, China and Pakistan are willing to recognize their claim to power. Counter insurgency is all about winning the hearts and minds of the people and here we have a prime example what happens if this center piece of the military operation fails.

Under estimate the reach of Arms dealers at your own peril. I'm very sure some of these dealers must have already marshalled out plans to reach out to locals/militants for under hand arms deal (that's if they've not started buying up the stash already) especially in the Afghan/Pakistani border. If we are not proactive these arms will move into subsaharan Africa and Nigeria will be the final destination, since the market here is very huge and profitable. There are lots of Pakistanis in Nigeria and vice versa doing "business". My proposition may sound alarmist but judging from history nothing is far fetched when it comes to arms trade, we should learn from the lessons of the fall of Libya and the resultant effect on our national security..

Honestly it hurts when you see this type of equipment fall into the wrong hands.
We will blame the Afghan forces alot on there own part.
Yet the Americans still bleeped up, why would the Americas leave this quantity and quality of hardwares in a junk yard for Taliban to just come and pick up knowing that the Afghan forces are not properly trained and motivated.
Eventually now this weapons and equipment will be used against innocent people and the entire Afghan forces, to me it seems this was done intentional.
if the Americans left with their equipment and ammunition. Its people like you that'll still be complaining. Human can never be satisfied. How about blaming the Afghanistan Army who couldn't hold on to their territory.

America troops left one of the biggest airforce base without informing the Afghan military. The gun trucks (good and bad) in that base were up to 60, containers of guns and ammo were many.

It is only a matter of time before afghan military personnels including pilots start joining the ranks of the talibans. They were the government in Afghanistan for a long time and it will be easy for people to accept them as such again. In fact some of the things discussed in US dialogue with them in Qatar is to see if they can form a coalition between the national government and Taliban, everyone knew the government would collapse and the only hope is to make a unity government.
The US will not go back into Afghanistan and neither will any other NATO country, it is only a matter of time before governments start normalizing relations with the Taliban.
And then, it is believed the talibans have friends in various governments across the world, it won't be too difficult to train their fighters on how to use many of these equipments.
Most important thing is that they don't even need these equipment to capture the country, it is sufficient for them to deny the ANA the use of such weapons.

When US and NATO invaded Afghanistan in 2001, the strategy of the talibans was to lay low until the exit of the coalition. They knew that no matter how long the coalition stayed behind in Afghanistan, they would eventually leave one day.
