Those scriptures there weren't contradictory, nor were they saying the same thing. Seems you didn't read the context of discussion.

Note that the texts weren't written in verses by the author, so you will need to read the whole paragraph or background story behind those statements to clarify it. Just the same way you will read the paragraph of a story or literature book to get the meaning of words and what is being explained. Hopeful you will do this.
