Inasmuch as there is a lot of undesirables in Okotie's ministry, he does make some scripturally valid points that every Christian should ponder upon. Here are some of those points:
1. Can a man be born-again from the mother's womb. The Bible disagrees with this. Yes folks like John the Baptist were anointed from the womb, they were not born-again from the womb. The definition of born-again is to confess Jesus, and believe in one's heart his atoning death on our behalf. There is a reason it has the word "again", because it is a second birth that comes after the natural. To say we are born again from the womb is to say one was born without the adamic sin nature which really equates that person with JESUS CHRIST.

Please and please dear people, take away your biases and look at this with a scriptural lens.

2. Does philanthropy equate piety? Please do not get me wrong folks. Yes, philanthropy is part of the christian work....God anointed Jesus Christ and he went about doing good - But, let's not equate this with God's seal on a man. Let's not forget that false prophets also perform good works to endear themselves to men...The pharisees also did a lot of good to be seen and praised by men.


There is a lot I will want to say, but I can't type again now. May God help us to discern, and to faithfully follow him.

I saw a video (by Pastor Okotie-whom I'd never heard of before Nairaland) regarding the late Mr. Joshua and it was biblically and intellectually outstanding and very convincing.
He appeared very sound and used the Bible effectively.....from a biblical standpoint I must say.
This is from someone (me) looking from the "outside in". His argument/point was very well proven scripturally.

I don't know anything else about him or the other two men who profess Christianity, however this behavior of calling names...."mental problem" and threatening physical harm of "a dirty slap" is unacceptable and saddening....
It's so weird to me.
Agree to disagree (as mature adults) and move on.
This is one of the reasons why I can't grasp the majority--- (not all) of the Nigerian brand of Christianity.....practiced there.

You counter people's opinion/argument with a superior argument and not by resorting to name calling or threat of physical harm. Look at the people coming out in defense of Joshua,, calling Okotie names, check their ministeries and personal lifestyles, they also have many baggages.

Until someone else comes up with a better/superior counter argument I'm tempted to want to agree with Chris Okotie on T.B Joshua..

I am still waiting for any of those Pastors criticizing Pastor Okotie to counter the valid points he raised with scriptures and stop being emotional. Everything he said were scripturally backed and correct and takes only those who are scripturally sound to comprehend .Sadly sound biblical exegeses is lacking in today's Church no wonder only the ''prophets'' are the ones criticizing him.

Pastor Okotie is arguably the best Bible teacher in Nigeria ,After I read his book ''The Last Outcast'' as a child those days ,I knew that this is it.Those criticizing him cannot even stand him in an argument when it comes to the scripture. Saying Okotie is a failure in Ministry is laughable as most of those saying such cannot even qualify as Sunday school teachers in his ministry.

If Okotie's claim is an offence, then prayer 101 (the Lord's prayer) teaches any christian to forgive an offense.

I see....so tribal bigotry or pledged allegiance--regardless, comes into play here.... interesting.
I wouldn't say, however that Nigerians are the most "foolish" in the world...could never and will never say that.
I do think, however, that many are gullible and trusting because they are not personally searching the scriptures prayerfully to see what the Lord says.
They have dangerously placed "man" above the Lord God and His Word.
I think due to extreme poverty, and looking to "religious" leaders for hope, freedom and miracles for TEMPORAL riches rather than spiritual treasures (which many leaders promise, yet the scriptures do not teach) is what causes the blinders to stay on and the willful "ignorance" to continue.
I say all of that with a concerned heart.
Religious leaders (if truly called by God) have a place within the structure of the church.
The problem is many are not called by God.... unfortunately.
