How much is the engine and the gearbox?
lanrexdo:
Lol. I just purchased an ugly working perfect nissan sentra 05! Guess what, I am in love with the interior and clearance because i just drive am go akute and no single hit. Lmao. Take your time, search, take a competent mechanic and know you will still send 50-100k for tuneup!
I saw a nissan tiida around that price. Whatever car you buy. Ensure the interior is in good taste and first body. All other parts can be replaced but not the body.

Also ask for price of engine and gear and ac unit before purchase. Even ensure the ac is working before purchase.

As long its not factory, bro for your own peace of mind, just yank it off. But then again if you can get doctors report I think your good.

I ve experienced same too before. No way out. Just forget about it. Keep giving good services and your rating will rise again cool

Today didn’t end well at all.
Set destination trip to mainland, bolt gave me Tinubu square island, no problem.
Got to pick up and two island semi local girls started rushing for front seat, struggling to seat in front of my low mileage Camry, while third one jejely went to back seat.
Rider Infront : don’t try dt with me again, I book ride and u want to seat in front seat.
Rider back: next ride I will seat infront no argument. I love front seat.
Me: (just shock cos most times ladies want to seat at owners corner)
Trip went well, they were making me laugh and singing all songs I’m jamming and it was fun really cos of their funny gist and very free.
Got to destination
Rider front seat: end trip pls cos of our money
Me: small change 700N
Rider: should I rate u or not
Me: if u will rate me well go ahead (I really don’t care cos I was on 4.97*)
She picked phone started from 1star and no more stars so she went to options.
Me: go back go back
Rider: it’s not going back (showed me the phone)
Me: no it can go back
Next thing she ticked one box and said let’s see if it will go back , no back arrow. As I was trying to find the back button she clicked on Done
I scccreeeaammeddddd nooooooo
The one at the back felt for me and said Ahhhhhh u done mess up. We started looking for how to undone it for like 5mins
Long and short of story dts how they rate all drivers thinking they are doing good ratings.
My ratings dropped from 4.97 to 4.88 instantly.
As if that was not enough
Still on destination trip got trip to my hood.
Picked male rider
Long story short
someone hit my window with stone, how it didn’t break is only Gods that knows.
Hit the first time I moved forward and second time he stoned it, luckily the road was a bit free so I zoomed forward a bit but still in traffic. Thank God they didn’t come after us.
My rider was already shaking.

Guys pls be careful out there my morale is low.
From low ratings to attempt to rob.

On another trip, a girl requested me and I drove 8 minutes to her location, called her that I have arrived.

This lady asked if my car's backseat can be folded, I told her no. She said that she will have to cancel the trip, that the thing she wants to carry requires a car with foldable backseat.

I don't know whether to curse her for wasting my time and fuel. Assuming she doesn't know cars by their names, would it not be better to call the driver immediately the order connected to know the type of car he's using.

The annoying thing is that the girl refused to cancel the ride. I waited for 10 minutes but she didn't cancel. Whenever I call her to cancel, she will tell me that the app is refusing to launch. I know this is a tactic she has deployed to avoid canceling from her end since it appears she might have canceled a lot considering the fact that she is only looking for a matrix or similar car which is uncommon to the business.

Same yesterday, one rider asked if I could carry booter in my trunk, I told her to better go get a GeePee tank so I can carry it very well.

Next time start the ride, drive for like 2km.them.end the ride, report she didn't pay bolt will block her account... So she won't be able to request again atleast till she contact Bolt but make sure you cook up a good story to convince she didn't pay o then get ready because your rating will drop but at least you sent one daughter of the world to hellgrin

I think AIG said no issuance of tint permit for now. And that factory tint should be exempted. Read this https://www.nairaland.com/6650000/permit-ban-cars-factory-fitted-tinted#103688971

My oga na d same thing we dey talk... If your car comes with factory tint you've just 14days to effect the tint permit.

Those with old tint e.g any tint from March 2021 backwards are valid be it factory tint or not provided it authentic/genuine from the NPF accompany with a medical report from a general hospital.

No issuance of tint permit to cars without factory tint till further notice.

So if you know you've the artificial/nylon tint installed on your car the earlier the better you get it removed b4 police use you build house and if yoir car has factory fitted tint and you don't have a tint permit for it go and get it done now.

A word is enough for the wise

Either you have factory tinted glasses or aftermarket tint the IGP has suspended issuance of tinted permits and spy plate numbers.

If you have permit before the suspension, you have no reason to worry unless you’re headed to eastern part of the country. I have 100% nylon tint on my vehicle with permit and medical report from ayinke house.

If dem stop me, i give them the required doc. I did it myself at dia police command so nothing like say na fake.

Never say never. I said it here over a year ago that vi.s website said I'm owing 20k fine for driving with invalid road worthiness in july 2019, 11 months after I registered my car.

I went to collect something for someone in their office last month so I used the opportunity to set things straight because I went to their office for the car registration, I no give person for gate or in the compound o, I entered the office gangan. Now they checked their system and said they did fake for me, that it's only the subsequent ones that are on the system.

They were even preaching to me to try and pay twice if I couldn't afford to pay once because of vio stops me on the road my car would be impounded and I would pay more than 20k (taxes and other nonsense payments).

I showed them the picture of the person that attended to me and they confirmed he used to work there but he's no longer there. I have my evidence that I did it in their office. The day vio will catch me, heads will roll.

Just imagine the level of fraud in this country, if they can still issue fake doc from their main office, no hope for naija be that

I'll take the v50... It's basically the station wagon of the S40. I like it too. I really don't like the other S series of similar year. I think they're ugly. Subsequent iterations are nicer looking but obviously more expensive.
AC is great, no issues.
Mine came lower than most civics. I'll change the tires too. The engine of the car is designed vertically so the sump is really low to the ground, AND it's aluminium so even though it has a protector shielding it it's still prone to cracking especially in a place like Lagos with our roads. This is my only grouse with the car. So it's GOING UPPPPPPP, only a tire switch won't be enough for me.
Police stop me cos it's tinted but it's factory tint and o have a permit. If the permit no do I invite them to try peeling it off. No problems either. I also do not appear like an Uber driver.
I'll drive into estates without checks 8 out of 10 times, except those where you have to call the gate. Parking too.
I haven't had any electrical issue so I can't say anything. It's definitely a more "complex" system than the usual
Besides fuel consumption, it's a no contest on all fronts.

Hmm... Thanks very much with this review it will guild a lot for those who would be interested in trying something new.

Thanks,

And pls always try to give update when ever issues arises especially now that you're doing a revamp on the ground clearance please let us know how the car performs in handling especially on bends.

Again, you mentioned that you do servicing every month, why every month pls, what type of oil do you use and at what mile do you change?

Lastly pls, you know you'll never drive the car for ever you'll definitely get tired of it one day, now if you decide to sell of the car for upgrade or for any other reason how soon do you think you'll get a buyer for it? And at what % reduction. Remember you bought at 1.7m, do you think prospective buyers would be ready to buy at above or below 1m?

Lastly lastly plsgrin
What's your advise to those who would want to take any form of purchase either loan or HP? Would you advise they go with this brand or with a more popular brand? Considering resale value, maintenance cost and ease of sale.

Others can comment on the last question as well.

Got it for 1.7

2005
2.4ltr 5cyl engine
Automatic

Sundays and Saturdays I average 12.6 to 12.9per 100km Weekdays it jumps to between 12.9 to 13.4 depends on traffic and ESPECIALLY how aggressively you drive.
The car is a beast performance-wise, top speed 260, I've tried to 170.
comfort is top notch, better seats with lumber support (10 way adjustable memory seats)
6 cd changer, 8-speaker system, MADD Sound. And it's still not full options o, mine is missing dvd, 12 speaker premium sound system and 17 inch wheels.
I remember taking these two guys to river valley, they were into music, oh lord, they too gbadun the sound, dude kept commenting and commending.

Even the base trim comes with a kind of hybrid mixture of leather and fabric seat and solid sound system too

The effect on riders is something else. First off, the rider just assumes the car is mine so the attitude is different. Then they like that it's a different car from the usual then the premium feel of it. Definitely there are some that still give an attitude but, that's negligible.
I particularly enjoy watching people go to the corolla first before realising they're at the wrong car. Sometimes I'm right in front of them but they'll still be looking for me.

In my my search for a car then, this was how I ranked them and if I'm to do it all again this is how it stands.
S40
C180
VW Jetta
Honda Civic/Mazda 3
I'll take the car everyday of the week and twice on Sundays

Wow... You've really done a great job. I love Volvo also, especially interior V50 2010 model. Are their reasonable mechanics that can handle it when repairs come knocking, how affordable are the spare parts, lastly if I may ask, is it foreign used/Nigerian use...

I'll love to read comments from anyone who use Volkswagen &Audi

You can tell the rider to come out at the express and you guys can proceed.

That place does not have motorable roads. It might be better now, considering the fact that the rains have stopped.

And I heard the name is Jesus village now, not Monkey grin
