Calculate the money it will cost to take the child to a farther school plus the money to come back to your house.

Calculate the money you could have made say 2 out of 5 days if you were not doing school runs.

Parents and government should be blamed for the surge in school fees. The school owners are on the other hand not helping the situation at all. Parents, because of our show off attitude don't usually want to complain about school fees. The school owners having noticed this weekness have decided to take advantage of it. There are a lot of things that are wrong but we have taken them as norms. Government should clamp down on these schools. All they display are structure, beautiful names and buses. Majority of them are not fit to render educational services. What they are interested in is extorting gullible parents and feeding fat on their gullibility.

[/i]st=104853608]My kid just was just promoted to nursery 1. initially he was in play group and his school fee was 25k which I pay almost thrice before the term ends, and I was still complaining that the fee is too much for such class.

But now, he's been promoted to nursery 1 and the school fee is almost double the former fee(40k).
How many times will I pay this one bayi? (Maybe 10 times) embarassed

I have been thinking, isn't this wickedness, how would u be expecting 40k for a nursery 1 pupil per term.

Abi its poverty thats making me think like that, or maybe its normal.

Note that, this school is the most affordable in my vicinity. Just a 3 mins walk from my house.

I'm thinking of looking for another school maybe still faraway a bit, but the school fee isn't high, I don't mind taking my time daily to take him to such school.

It's our unending love for our children that made us go overboard in giving them the best of education. This also mean you're a responsible father. But to be able to cater for them for long term, I'll Buttress what others have contributed. Get a school that's affordable, they will surely give them the basic education, you can spare some time after work to instill some good education in them too. God bless you richly. I was once in that position. I redesign my priority and when things becomes affordable for me without any iota of force , I elevated their school to suit my pocket.

It may seem like an outrageous amount to pay but, if you can afford it why not give you child a good educational foundation. Cause most of these schools were you pay less may not give that child enough attention. So they may be plenty lapses in his academic work

The amount is ok oh. The 40k is because of the new term and also text book and other fees are added to it. It depends on your income.

When I saw 40k in your write up I was like aha its because of textbooks as prices are on the high now on checking the picture I actually find it strange that books/ educational materials are 5k for a nursery 1 student.

Are you sure they are buying all the necessary books? Because I know the textbooks for nursery 1 are more than 5k this 2021 especially with the rate of inflation and I am talking about the cheapest from our Nigerian publishers.

As for the school fees Its the environment you live in, there are areas in outer lagos with cheaper schools as cheap as 10k,15k 20k and the expensive ones are available too but September is always loaded because of textbooks.

You are talking about first term but this not first term, third term in most schools. Lockdown has disrupted normal calendar.

I go change school if I see say my pikin they get below B for any of the grades

This line of thinking explains why children in many private schools always do very well in their exams, but cannot cope when tested in interschool competitions or general examinations.

There are better ways of determining the value you get for paying school fees.
