Thanks for your input. I'd love to go for the C350 for its power, but I opted to go for the C200 Kompressor as it provides a nice balance between power and fuel economy, even though it's a bit underpowered. How's the C350's fuel consumption?

Great

Hello Guys see what I found when I visited Ojuelegba Clegg lane today. I went round and I saw many of the Benz Mechanics using this engine oil called NORDKAPP 5w30 to service Benz instead of MOBIL 1. Please what’s your opinion people and why on earth will someone allow the use of this engine oil for his Benz?
Funny enough all the people there are saying it’s a good oil for Benz and that is what they have been using to service their car from day one.
We must be careful with this mechanic o.

Not trying to hold brief for your Mech - but cheating in this context is subjective. There are different prices for the same item from different sellers. Also the question of brand comes into play. An MB Star part will cost almost twice the cost of a similar bosch/hella OEM part which in turn will cost almost 4x the cost of the usual Tibao knock-offs. Choose your battles with mechanics wisely.

You didn't tell us the whole story.... concerning your w211

Guys, I'm thinking of purchasing a c200 kompressor w203 2006/2007 as my first car, but I saw that someone here advised against older benz models. The person who's helping me import it from Germany says the car is reliable, and is waaay cheaper to maintain than more recent models. What's your opinion, guys? Should I change my mind and go for a more recent w204 or should I stick with the w203? Your thoughts are appreciated.

I own one but a 2003, I do my regular maintenance, fuel consumption is as low as that of corolla, and very reliable.
I've never regretted buying it, parts are way cheaper than that of a corolla.

There was nothing wrong with his W211. I personally bought that car, drove it to Uyo, handed it over to him, still maintained it whilst he was in Calabar. Eddie is a person who easily gets bored with cars when they stay a couple of months with him.

And that's what happened to his W211.

It's not just about Mobil or not.
Most,if not all Benz require 0 or 5w-40 while that oil is 5W-30.
Personally,I prefer original liquimolly brand to Egypt Mobil or Castrol oil.

Guys this is an advise to avoid these Car washes that use this high pressure water gun to wash cars, especially careless ones!

It's currently costing me almost 2 hundred thousand to fix my 2016 CLA250.

1. How they did it I don't know, but some how, water got into my left head light and my chargers got burned. Cost of changing those, 60-70 thousand naira!

2. My car had a parking break sensor issue some weeks back. It would not leave parking break. I called Gazzuzz (this is an appreciation message to him too). Man's a gem! Called him and he picked on the first call. He was so nice and suggested ways to help.

Unfortunately I didn’t exactly have the tolerance to start digging through all the Mercedes Benz padding to get to the ASICS he spoke of, lol. Finally fixed it and it cost me 25k

3. Just yesterday, my car started showing blind-spot assist failure. Pointers wouldn't work and AC would switch off on its own. Took it to the tech, he ran a scan and went ahead to fix it. This one cost 50k.

Then the techie told me. Avoid those car washes. Water from their high pressure spray gun gets into certain places they shouldn't and those cars and water are not exactly friends. Just as Gazzuzz told me when I called him over the park brake error, man asked if I had been "swimming" with the car lol!

I also randomly remember my first C300, also got an EIS fault directly from the car wash. Car had to be towed to the mechanic from the car wash!

So from today, I have resolved to do my washing by myself! My hand no cut! God bless us all and give us funds to maintain these elegant pieces of engineering we drive! Selah.

Modified: I forgot to mention that for some miracle, my passenger back seat is currently a pond! How water got in I don't know but my rugs are soaked and dripping water. Anyone else suspects the culprits? Yeah your guess is as good as mine!

I'm so sorry Bro... That thing dey be like witchcraft. One moment you're driving your car, the next moment, you're looking for a towing van grin angry

The mechanic that did mine is at Enugu. I don't think its clearing codes or that though. In my situation, they had to change the key hammer (which seems like the EIS module). Only that one cost 120k then I paid 20k abi 30k for the fixing.

1st code has to do with intake manifold, the others will need a, live scan and a fuel pressure test.
