That Nacho is a better finisher is debatable; but we'll leave it for another day

Nacho is a better finisher than most strikers in the EPL,he had the best goal per game ratio in the EPL as a 19 year old, and he had the second best last season

Thank you bro I was beginning to think and check if it was Berca or Inter Milan they were playing against....any average striker should bang goals against this finish team on a good day

But still...I will say WELL DONE Awoniyi
Baba just give it to my son and thanks for saying well done though you are not a fan.

It's a great boost for any striker to score a goal even against a very low team.

Ask Osimehn why he always happy scoring 4 goals during pre season against non rated teams. I remember when Nacho had hattrick against Scunthorpe in FA cup we are all happy not minding the club level. It gives them the needed confidence.

Awoniyi goals not against Inter should not be your judgment cos I watched this guy against Bayern with his Dad right beside me and I said Taiye just need to improve on his awareness cos he supposed to score a goal but his naivety failed him.

I think he has improved a little bit and let see what will happen this season.

Haha not yet. This is against a team in the Finnish league. A first rate level level striker would do more damage to this level of opposition I reckon. But all the same good advertisement of his ability. I must confess I haven't always been a fan of his.
Well said.. not a fan say it all meaning you don't rate him.

Hope he can continue with this sudden improvement cos his technicality has improved since last season.

Walahi I rated this guy highly but injury really dealt with him.

I was with them in UAE and really sad for him when he got injured though it paved way for my boy Awomiyi. Till today Awoniyi always saying thank you Isaac with a joke.

Since its a projection, I'd say this is very very possible. Positioning seems to be his latest trick. That's enough to get double figures.

Yes it is
Any decent striker with great positioning would always get goals

Calvin Bassey was one of the players singled out for praise by Rangers manager Steven Gerrard following his side's hard-fought 1-0 win over Alashkert in the first leg of their Europa League play-off tie on Thursday night.

One of the talking points before the clash at Ibrox Stadium was who would start at left-back between the young Nigerian and the experienced Croatia national teamer Borna Barisic.

After four appearances off the bench as a substitute, Gerrard handed Bassey his starting debut in a European game and the 21-year-old repaid the faith shown in him by the ex-Liverpool captain with an outstanding performance against the Armenian champions.

The Leicester City academy product showed his battling qualities, fighting for every ball; he knew when to join the attack and when to retreat.

Speaking to Rangers TV post-match, Gerrard said : "I thought some of the lads' efforts tonight were superhuman.

"I think our supporters will know who I’m talking about – Steven Davis, Calvin Bassey, Scott Wright when he came on.

"Connor Goldson did everything we asked. I thought a lot of individuals, especially in the second-half, were superhuman."

Bassey, who joined Rangers from Leicester City in the summer of 2020, registered fifteen appearances in all competitions last season, including six starts which came in domestic matches.

As the 54-year-old tactician prepares the Oviedistas for their league clash at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos on Friday, he is wary of the attacking threat of a free-scoring Nigerian star

Real Oviedo head coach, José Ángel Ziganda, believes his side’s next opponent Almeria boast the league’s best striker in Nigerian forward Umar Sadiq.

In only his first season in the Spanish Segunda Division, Sadiq smashed in 20 league goals to help Almeria make the playoffs. However, they eventually failed to secure a promotion to the top flight.

Sadiq finished third on the goalscorer’s chart, missing out on the top scorer award to Espanyol’s Raúl de Tomás (23 goals) and second-placed Sporting Gijon’s Durdevic (22 goals).

The former AS Roma forward has wasted no time in getting his season to a bright start as he netted the opening goal when Almeria went away to FC Cartagena and handed a 3-1 thrashing to their hosts on matchday one.

On Friday night, Almeria are billed to entertain Real Oviedo at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos for their matchday two Segunda Division clash.

Coach Joan ‘Rubi’ Ferrer’s men are the installed favourites against an Oviedo side that only managed a 2-2 home draw to Lugo last weekend.

The Blues head coach Ziganda, who had two caps for Spain, knows it would be a challenging task picking any positive result at Almeria, a mission made near-impossible by their rivals’ Nigerian import.

Speaking to the press during his pre-match briefing, the former Osasuna coach said: “Almería has a lot of quality, a lot.

“Young players, fast, with rhythm and good technique. A good coach who has been able to work with the entire squad in pre-season, and that was endorsed in Cartagena.”

“They won the game with relative ease against such an expert team and with the Cartagena players.

“They have probably the best striker in the category (Umar Sadiq) and from there on a very organised team, with quality and rhythm.”

“They are one of the powerful teams in the Second Division.”

Almeria picked four points from the two league meetings against Real Oviedo last season, sealing a memorable 2-1 away win in November before being forced to a 2-2 draw at home in May.

Sadiq scored both of Almeria’s goals at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterráneos on the day but watched his side concede twice after the break to drop two points.

Never heard about Taye Taiwo's twin and well I might be wrong but I also thought Odion Ighalo is a twin too cos it seems Odion is a name of twins (not sure). Just curious to know if Kehinde Awoniyi is married and how old is she sef?
