I agree the universe is vast and we don't know if gods could be existing somewhere or somehow however I know that the god the Christians, Muslims and Jews believe in does not exist or more succinctly I have sufficient evidence that gives me confidence that such a god does not exist.
My bros thanks for your responses but they are shallow. Here's why - once u start with the fact that you don't know the true nature of reality and that you don't know the limitations and errors placed on your brain, then there could be a trillion things you don't know that you don't kmow - when just one thing u don't know that you don't know could be where it's all at.
See the clip below, assuming those outside the matrix are God, is there any way to prove he exists?? Is there any way Neo can tell his world is fake? NO!

Are you lacking understanding? I just admitted that there are a trillion things I don't know but there are somethings I do know. If you don't know what I know shouldn't your response be inquiry instead of disparaging? You think I haven't factored in the possibility of a Matrix style existence?

Don't be offended. Your mistake lies in that "there are things I do know". In this matrix world what would you say Neo knows? Then factor in the fact you don't know the limitations and errors your brain came with. So you see, there are no "things I do know".

There are always things you do know. You seem to be conflating the limitations of knowledge with actual available facts. Can you say you don't know that you have 10 toes and 10 fingers even if you don't know exactly how the bones and skin interconnect to form them?

I thought I was conversing with a mature thinker. You can be any number of a trillion things you can never imagine, things that look nothing like what you think you are. In that matrix couldn't they have had Neo perceive himself as having no toes??

Have you ever perceived yourself having 2000 toes? You can continue to delude yourself because you enjoyed the Matrix movie and think it is analogous to reality but I know I have 10 toes thank you very much.

Atheists in the house I invite you all to give me logical and compelling reasons as to why atheism is the correct worldview.
Thank you.
Most of them were born into one religion or another but the religion made no lasting impression in their hearts so they seek for solace outside what their parents handed over to them: RELIGION
So each person is facing a huge task, you have to work hard on what was handed over to you by your parents, find out if it's real or just one of those delusional schools of thought.
Soon ATHEISM will sweep all the religions on this planet away and stand as the one and only source of guidance for mankind in general {Revelations 13:16-18} but it will not have any adverse effect on just one group. Psalms 91:7
This is the time to find out which group has the TRUTH {Zephaniah 2:2-3} by that time the door to the spiritual Ark would have been locked because the true Christians will longer PREACH nor TEACH anyone due to the hunting that will be launched by ATHEISM under Satan the devil to exterminate God's people! Revelations 16:16 smiley

Isn't existence evidence enough?

When you see the stars, the moon, the sky, creation in general doesn't common sense tell you that it is somebody that put all those things there?

Have you ever seen anything that wasn't created? Buildings don't build themselves. Cars don't make themselves. Using that same logic this world didn't make itself. And thus the evidence for a creator.
Sorry, there's an error in your thinking.

You have blurred the lines between what it means to create and to build.

The two words don't have exactly the same meaning.

You cannot say because humans can build a house or any other thing, then it should be common sense to accept without any evidence that the stars, moon, sky and other object in nature was created by somebody.. It doesn't follow at all. Creating and manufacturing are not exactly the same process

We can see humans manufacturing things using materials from nature and so we know they manufacture them . But non, not even for once, has seen or witnessed any "somebody" creating the world that we all live in.

You are assuming based on what your religion tells you and nothing else.

If you were not told that the world was created, you wouldn't even think or bother yourself if the world was created or not. You wouldn't even know

Have you ever stared death in the face? I have. Doesn't make me still think there is a supernatural. I dunno why you think one event in your life is the foundation for a belief in a supernatural.

That there are things in this universe we don't know or can't yet explain is no basis to establish belief in the supernatural.

I am not anti-supernatural, I am skeptical. Your "ghost hand" is such a banal example it doesn't even register as something I should consider. Besides several people have tried to verify the existence of supernatural and paranormal powers to no avail. It's not today we started asking questions.
Dude you can't convince me otherwise. I know somebody touched me that day. Whether you believe it or not doesn't change the fact.

Okay leave that experience and consider this one.

I have prayed for a girl having menstrual flow issues and while I was praying for her, according to what she told me later on, she started to feel her period come, and when she got to her hostel her period came.

How do you explain that?

Not trying to convince you that you didn't feel what you felt. I just don't think it indicates anything supernatural.

Again not remarkable, menstrual issues come and go. The problem is for every type of success you record by you thinking your prayer worked there are 10 more where prayer didn't or will you tell me everything you pray for comes to be?

Also we know that illness like menstrual issues comes and goes. Take for instance headache, you pray for someone who has one and it goes, how do we know if the headache went because of prayer or it went naturally as headaches do from time to time. How can we tell if it was your prayer that resolved the menstrual issues or it resolved naturally and your prayer had nothing to do with it.

Are you a student? Is this a class project? What does "logic" mean to you? I ask that last question because there is no logical argument for gods. That's one definition of atheism - the lack of belief, the lack of a reason to believe.

Remove God and the bible and nothing changes. The Universe doesn't need a God. Especially a God that cannot be described. The universe and its workings are well described by science. Using applied science we have been able to discover the mathematical nature of the universe. Mathematics have nothing to do with a God. God creates miracles, but no one knows how or why. It is clear that if there ever was a God, and He looked at what He hath created, he would not love this world so much that he gave up his only begotten son.

Religious folks don't seem to realize that according Darwin, the death of your only begotten son ends your family line and "natural selection" has made your line extinct, along with 98 % of all species which are now extinct, because they did not live long enough to procreate. If God ever lived, he is now extinct, because Jesus (God’s offspring) never had offspring himself.

Yet the Universe has done remarkable well without God or his son, except on Earth where untold people have died because religious people thought God told them it was a good idea. The concept of a God simply is not a necessary ingredient of the Universe. It is an obsolete concept, imagined by ignorant people. I dare say it is a corrupting influence. Where does Universal law allow you make amends for your mistakes by asking forgiveness and saying a few prayers? You make a mathematical mistake in your bank book and your balance is off!

Is AGW going to disappear because we are sorry and pray to God to make it go away? Think about it.

I said while I was praying... In the process of my praying she started to feel her flow come... That's no coincidence na.. Its obviously supernatural.

Just say you're biased. And have decided to see things from a nuturalistic/humanistic viewpoint and have disregarded the very thought of anything being spiritual.

I can't believe u r arguing like this. You should know that what you perceive doesn't equate what is real na.
Even a common hypnotist can do that talkless of whoever designed the possible matrix you live in and decided the type of limitations and distortions to give your brain! Even ancient philosopher Descartes knew that the ONLY thing he could be sure of was that he himself existed - "I think, therefore I am". But even that was proved wrong!

If I asked you to pray for an amputee to grow back their limb would you be able to do it? That would be an amazing thing if your prayer can accomplish it or is your prayer power only able to accomplish things that are naturally possible?

I am yet to see anybody accomplish what is not naturally possible by prayer or any other so called supernatural means, all I see are naturally possible things. If you want to convince me that there is a supernatural accomplish something that is not naturally possible.

Like I said your biased.

It is hard for any atheist or Christian to have a meaningful conversation cuz both are sold out to their beliefs.

I can't believe your claims cuz I'm biased to the spiritual and you can't believe my claims cuz you're biased to the natural.

By the way.. Going by the topic of the thread..

Well Satan told Eve that she can become her own God, setting her own standard for good and evil. So an atheist wants to set his/her own standard without submitting to any rules be it moral or social that will limit his freedom in anyway! wink

Forget about me and my type. Just think logically for one second.
1) you don't know what you don't know and you have no way of knowing what you don't know you don't know - Neo would live and died and even gone to "heaven" without ever suspecting the entire thing was fake. 2) You have NO WAY of proving that anything exists outside your head. You experience reality entirely through your brain. 3) You have no way of knowing what limitations and distortions were built into your brain.
**Therefore you don't know anything except that maybe you yourself exist
**Specifically, you don't know enough to declare yourself an atheist
