What we eat in Nigeria is not food.

Can the reader mention the last time he or she ate salad or cheese ??

When they drink tea, it's the N20 sachet or N50 sachet. May God help this country.

Some people don't know there is 1kg milk and Milo. They have never tasted it.

. She is not lying, she lives European life while she was in Nigeria. One thing about Europe, US or Canada 98% of their working class eat what they want not like in Nigeria where 95% of working class eat what they see not what they want. Can someone tell me how a civil servants will build 4 flats without stealing?
how can she lie. Or you think it's only food? Hanging out and drinks. Tips here and there. To eat in fast food is nothing less that 2500 right now. If you are not living life you wkrn know what others are going through.

In a 10k hotel, accommodation alone will cost her 600k.
IG will finish 2.5M in three days!
Even 2.5M can not be enough for commissioner of Police in one month.

Oracleforce:

She chooses to live expensive life...must she stay in 7 stars hotel? There are lots of 10k daily hotel located in a nice place that she can stay...
Probably maybe her tourist guide or host dey exploit her join...trust naija sharps guys...
Sth of one naira dey will call it 5 naira...

2 million is the salary of IG for 5 months..
Go back to your country and learn to be wise..

She certainly spent money on different things and may have also given some money to family and friends. Its not uncommon to spend such large sums on a visit. I usually go to Nigeria for about a week and spend a lot but not close to this amount as she stayed for 2 months.

Foreign cuisines at Nigerian restaurants are very pricey. I tell you
the price is as high as 4 times the amount they buy in their country. My boss complained this to me, but wetin concern me, when I can get a good plate of EBA and bitterleaf soup with big kpomo for 500 - 600 per plate.

There is serious difference bro.

The person living on salad and vegetables will live longer and look younger.

It was yesterday they said christiano Ronaldo has the body of a 22 year old boy and his diet was listed for us.

I'm going back to that thread to copy it.

Update From . COM

A UK-based Twitter user who visited Nigeria took to Twitter to share her experience in the country.

She said she spent 2.5 million Naira in two months, adding that "food is the most expensive commodity in Nigeria".

She then goes on to say her heart bleeds for the poor in Nigeria.

Her tweet reads: "Just got back from Nigeria and I can tell you now, 1m can not do much , It cost me N2.5m to live in Nigeria for two months. Food is the most expensive commodity in Nigeria , my heart bleeds for the poor every time I go food shopping it is heart breaking."

Well... That's fact that the price of food commodities keep inflating but some human beings will come here to act patriotic and the dumb ones will come up with drinking garri as a method of survival.

We enjoy lying to ourselves as a means of being patriotic and still complain about the system. Sigh.

And for those humans helping her to add accomodation money, I hope you aren't reading it upside down.

when you convert that to British pounds, it is still much lower than what you spend in England.

with the type of things you bought in Nigeria for that amount , you will not be able to buy that with 5,000 pounds in in Britain in two months and 5,000 Pounds is still higher that N2.5M .

No mind the lady.

2.5m is just about GBP4,400 at current rate. At places like London, that's actually a small amount.

Due to the security situation, imagine how much she must have been spending on
1) a secure hotel.
2) Taxi
3) the kind of food she eats
4) happy week end or police Roger everytime you go out. In fact almost everyone will say happy weekend grin
5) clothing, etc
Abeg it's true. Who no go, no know as a foreigner you spend more than even the indigenes of that place

This is why her comment, as a gauge of life in Nigeria cannot be accpeted. Don't you get it??

Poverty is a bastard, especially poverty of the mind (mental poverty).

She just made yhu all realise how terrible life can be for the poor in Nigeria.

Eating junks and struggling daily to get along in the hope of becoming something....

It goes to tell that eating good food in the UK is a lot cheaper compare to Nigeria now. Let's reflect on that.

10,000 daily on hotel cost 600,000 in 2 months,

A plate of meal should set her back 3,000 x 3 daily = 9000 * 60 = ₦600,000 + ₦540,000 = ₦1.140,000

True, but they won’t believe. Local Nigerians are the type of people that will be complaining that they only have, yams, plantain, beans and disgusting crabs to eat while in the West Oyibo eat sophisticated fish and chips, spaghetti, burgers and ken turkey. Nigerians have been thought to see no value in what they have, which is a precursor to turning them into Consumers of Western products, the type of situation that keeps capitalism turning over nicely.

Where are her receipts?

You can eat restaurant food everyday for two months in Nigeria and not spend even half that amount.

I read loads of comment here and I smile, life in UK is outrightly diff from what we have here. I have worked and live outside Nigeria and I can relate to op submissions.

Many of you here saying trash dunno what it takes to stay alive in this jungle called Nigeria and yet non of you have ever stepped/traveled out of Nigeria for once and so for her spending up to that amount might sound strange to many.

It is not time we pause and stand to restructure this country ?.. or is this how we will continue with this failures by this incumbents and previous administration, that no election come 2023 until we restructure this zoo. However, the youth is the vast majority that can savage this country but yet the youth aren't ready yet, rather chasing fast life cars, money and woman tueh ..

The problems of Nigeria are Nigerian's and her solutions is right here in Nigeria. If you know you know.
