Hmmm! These points are deep especially the health care. No one has health insurance in this nation that can save one from something huge. Those nollywood artists playing rich men and women are real example . Many are comfortable but as soon as they are diagnosed, wahala don start, and that's how they got so disgusting and turned national beggars. Imagine that scene of grace to grass. Politicians and rich mean always travelling abroad for health issues. When the president himself is regular in the UK.

However, running to the US without a plan is not OK. Even the guy who wrote US cannot easily get visa. There is no B1/B2 (tourist, business, health) for now due to covid 19. Only Immigrant and students are attended to except govt officials or VIPs.

So, there is no point to even ask the US question. But if the guy wants to move, let him. He should just pick up a tech skill. But if I were him, I would spend my 6 months, return to naija, return again....and keep doing it till I can use the said tech skill to change my status.

But going to the US just to hustle, hmmmm....US is a wrong nation for such as at now. Immigration process for illegal immigrants is not friendly now.

I don't know his prior background and education, so 4k isn't impossible... but $400 monthly? as in $100 weekly? that's almost impossible.

Life is what you make out of it. Nigeria has it challenges just like other countries, 400k decent Job that has prospects will give you the previlage of going to the US anytime you want and you will be given Visa.
But $400 Job in the US is a very poor Job in any indices you are using. Build capacity with the Nigeria Job, if will offer you a lot of opportunities. Don't make your decision base on roads and electricity in the US.
Taxes and bills are not that simple in US as it is here in Nigeria. Last last you will do what you consider best for you.
