I get the point that your family wants you to stay back but if the job is in a private company, it's not guaranteed they'll keep you if they face crisis.

The fully funded scholarship with monthly and annual pay is a very good option if you ask me. You get to further your education for free and if you're the type with good savings habit, you can start up a business of your own and be an employer of labour.
Take for example you can't secure any job, family won't look at your face.. it's better you decide for you afterall it's your life and you have to live it.

Greetings All and trust you are staying safe.
Please I would need your candid and mature advice on this issue.
Should I go for a 150k job in Nigeria or a Fully funded Scholarship for Msc in Malaysia that pays $1000 monthly plus an annual payment too.

School is starting October and would need your mature advice. Thanks.
Job prospects in Malaysia is not promising and Master and PHD in Nigeria is almost turned to mere paper with no jobs to accommodate the holders ,so the best advice is to hold on to the job ,develop marketable skills and save for a side investment.

Malaysia pali get value? If it was us or uk I would have advised you to go. People telling you that it is a goldmine are not taking into consideration some unknown variables. The naija labour market is ageist. You need the work experience. If you were able to get a scholarship in Malaysia you can get it in the us with time and similar effort.

Go to Malaysia. It is a no-brainer. If their certificates are acceptable globally, you can seek jobs worldwide.

LOL.

Depends on a few things: your passion, your purpose (if you have one), and your values. With these in your mind, you won't need any stranger's advise.

People here will advise you based on their own values.

Odogwu Malay, why are you still asking? $1000 is equal to N520,000.00, with MSc you are in better position to get good job, You said fully funded!. Brotherly N150,000.00 can not do much with High level of inflation in Nigeria. Please take the later option, but stay off white powder. God bless you

Offer is RM1000 and not USD1000.
Both the scholarship at hand and the job offer are almost equivalent in monetary terms. He'll need a stronger motivation to pursue the msc I'll think. Moreso, staying back in Malaysia is a very tall order. Next move will be another msc or to get into a PhD. And most importantly to look the way of Australia or New Zealand

*I'd been there

I know but this is Scholarship not job offer or permanent residency Abroad. You are likely not allowed to work in Malaysia.
First of, my apologies for my thoughtless comment.
Secondly, I think you should give the Malaysia a try u never know things might turn out for the best over there.

I got the offer for my msc in 2013 too. Monthly allowance then was RM1200. But the govt reviewed downward to RM1000 from 2015.

The offer is available up to PhD too.
