Anyone watching Burkina Faso vs Algeria? What a fast paced game. The Burkinabe players are giving it to the Algerians. Great game of football all around!

Were Algeria poor??. They are criticizing their performance today

Kingsley Micheal is a good player who puts his all in a match. He is someone I believe can play well

We know this thats why I suggested he start against Liberia but Rohr hate Nigerian bred talents. He play them because he has no choice.

Good win. Totally missed the game. How did Ejuke perform?
Rohr fielded the midfield many here predicted he would. Surprised he didn't go with a back 3 tbh.
3 points in the bag and that's all that matters.

Not really. Its just that they met their match. You can say that Mahrez and Bounedjah were a bit off, but it was an average performance from them nonetheless.

If you are not in camp with these guys, you can't really say.

Forget what happens in camp boss...What happens on the pitch is what matters... Nobody can say it with his full chest that Okoye has proven to be better than Uzoho or Akpeyi... Uzoho won his shirt in the super eagles in a fair manner when Akpeyi was messing up... Uzoho lost his shirt due to an injury and Rohr didn't do the right thing by giving him the chance to win it back.He has dashed it to Okoye..

Okoye sure looks like one that can improve, but as at now, he hasn't done anything to justify getting the no.1 spot... I particularly don't like the fact that Rohr is making him too comfortable in that role by starting him in every game...

GOODNEWS!!!!
The appeal for Osimhen has been accepted: the disqualification reduced. He will be on the field against Juventus.
Napoli fans are also complaining that Osimhen needs to learn how to keep his cool on field.

Everybody seems to be blaming okoye for that goal conceded. My take, that was a wonderfully executed goal, that any keeper that saved it would have been praised for wonderful reflex.

The truth is that we squeezed a win. A win is all that matters after all

Prior to this game, he conceded 4 goals Sierra Leone. The guy is 19 and he has a bright future ahead of him. But, as of now, uzoho seems more commanding, matured, and a presence than okoye. Uzoho last 2 games prior to his injury were exception vs Ukraine and Brazil

morocco is yet to play their second match,
They will likely reclaim their top spot.

But we are not likely to meet any of the big teams as long as we maintained our 5th position,
assuming all the top 5 ranked teams topped their respective groups.

After d top 5 ranked teams, are closely followed by thse 3 tough teams from d bottom 5 :
1.Egypt
2.Ghana/south africa
3.cameroon/CIV
which we r not going to b paired with.
So We r most likely to face the likes of
benin/dr. congo/tanzania,
mali,
bokina faso ,
south africa,
if they all topped their groups.

Yeah the football iq and knowledge if tactics is the problem. This is why Nigerian league players and black African players struggle in Europe despite their natural talent. In fact, imama akpabio stated the fact that npfl players don't understand basic the ngs about tactics and formation. Coaching bid a great problem for African youths in football.
A 12 year old boy playing football in Europe had more tactical knowledge than a 21 year old Nigerian league player.
When they get to Europe the tactical deficiencies are noticed and problems start as they have to learn very fast

I have watched both Uzoho and Maduka and I'm sure that only Maduka is close to being a reliable goalkeeper in that squad. But Nigerians judge outward appearance a lot. Maduka looks boyish and incapable not like Uzoho who looks like a strong and confident person, so they consciously or unconsciously begin to scrutinize his moves a lot.

The team has a coach, assistant coach, and goalkeeper trainer, if Maduka had serious tactical problems, will he still be the no 1 presently?

Denmark have been the most impressive team thus far in qualification. They are playing some excellent attacking football and are yet to concede a goal. Absolute top quality passing and shooting from Delaney, Wass and others. I would even go as far as putting them as favourites for the World Cup. This may be far fetched but I personally found them to be the best team in the tournament after Italy. Only time will tell but things are looking up for them.

You cannot even compare the two of them.

Uzoho has played Argentina (twice), Brazil, etc. and made crucial saves to keep us in those games. Maduka is conceding four against Sierra Leone. In fact, I can confidently say that at least 50% of every shot on target against us in all Maduka's games for us ended up in the back of the net. That's how poor he's been. The good thing is that we haven't played a decent team in a long time. The last serious team we played was Brazil in October 2019, and Uzoho saved us big time in that game. SInce then, we've been facing teams like Benin, Sierra Leone etc and we still concede against them.

If we go to AFCON with Maduka as is right now, we will be hugely embarassed. Asides from the fact that he is not confident, he does not inspire confidence at all. When a player takes a shot and you have Mendy in goal, you are confident he will make the save. With AKpeyi and Maduka, it's 50/50. They might make the save, they might pull off a howler and concede.

Cape Verde is a very good side. With this team list, Nigeria stands no chance on a poor synthetic pitch in a very windy stadium in Cape verde. They are gaint killers. They once defeated Portugal with the Ronaldo of this world. Even second team of Cameroon that Rohr could not defeat had their first team losing by 3 goals. You will surely be humbled very soon bro.
Where is this fella now?

did they commit an offence because it seems they are the only one that their elimination was confirmed. All the bottom ranked teams in Europe qualifying are in similar or worse position points wise yet they have not been deemed eliminated. Any reason why?

You are being unnecessarily sentimental.. Nobody has said they prefer Uzoho to Okoye because of their looks, the same way nobody is saying they prefer Omeruo and Awazeim partnership to Ekong and Balogun's because of their looks...
Okoye simply hasn't done enough to justify him being the number 1 ahead of Uzoho and even Akpeyi.. He doesn't inspire enough confidence in the team..

Kingsley Michael is a very talented player. I never doubted his ability to deliver.

What is left now is for Rohr to prune down his crowd of defenders and give room for two more midfielders in the squad.
