IFSHR:
Below is an excerpt from the doctor turned Uber driver murdered while going about means of sustenance

"At the station, they told us that the trip was a set-up, as they had planned to rob any Uber driver and it was unfortunate that it had to be him. They did not even give him an option; they strangled him from the back seat, pushed him out of the car and drove to the Afrika Shrine to celebrate"

He didn't even pick them up from the shrine , he picked them from Ikeja.

I pray his soul find rest after hunting down every evil mind responsible for his early demise'

This is why I reject trips to all these funny funny places at night especially if I am picking up able bodied men. Bolt and Uber don't have idea of what goes on the streets of Lagos. Nah to crash person rating and to block someone account them know because say u reject trip. Your Safety first, every other thing is irrelevant especially if u are the bread winner of your family.

I got a sworn affidavit for loss of tinted permit certificate and a letter from the office of the area commander for Area F, Ikeja.
I was told these documents can suffice as tinted permits.

Please is it tenable to avoid police harassment for my tinted glasses?

I really can't say if any of these doc can redeem you if you're ever stopped for tint issues, especially if its the nylon tint. For your peace of mind just yank it off. I have seen a couple of cars on the road lately where the owners have attempted to rip theirs off...I guess they've all swallowed a bitter pill like me.

It won't stop the ehailing coys from making money, we shouldn't forget, the case of the Ajah guy, though, Bolt said he wasn't on a trip, but we all know, guy man was positioning for a trip in the wee hours of the morning when tragedy struck.

What exactly happened to the ajah guy? Didn't hear the story.

Just thinking, can't bolt and Uber include options for number of passengers in a car. And car capacity should be 4(including driver), maximum. Then a driver should input number of passengers and they will be charged some percentage grin

Well if the system was working as it should, a test is meant to be carried out by an optician who would state on the report why you must have tinted glass. But you know as our matter be for naija

Did mine for 5K, LASUTH. I’ve never had issues around south west states, won’t try to go east with a tinted vehicle sha.

If suggest you get a Nigerian used car of about 1.4m, and put the balance of about 600k ($1k) on Royal Q.
Work with the car, while the other one works for you. You earn in Naira, bot earns in $
At the end of the month you both smile smiley
Integrator1 please don't follow this advise.

Royal Q is a Trading bot. It's not 100% safe as the crypto market is highly volatile. It can make or mar your finances. You can only use funds you can afford to lose.

If you have your 2M buy a good car that will give you peace of mind.

I don't know about Abj as I'm planning on relocating there for Uber but seems it's not as profitable as Lagos.

Yeah Gods protection. But some areas are more prone to car snatching and killing of drivers than some area. These places I listed has more bad records than anyother place.

Sir please can you give some information about your hybrid car?

What type do you drive

How long have you been using it?

What were your major and current or most common challenges you experienced with this hybrid? Kindly talk briefly about you first experience using the hybrid as well.

Would you advise anyone for the hybrid against the petrol? If yes which make and model would you suggest best for uber?

Do you have a specialist for this brand you currently driving that you can bank on when ever issues arise?

cc: Dmechy -boss I hail oh... You're doing well sir please keep it upgrin

radautoworks (mama it haf tey o dis one u just forget your boys for wilderness like dis watin dey happen na).

Considering the high cost of the popular brand and petrol taking major portion of drivers' earning it will be wise for one to divert attention into the future because electric/hybrid cars is the future.

Considering the engine size (1.8L), worst case the battery park off unexpectedly one would still be able to move around with normal comsuption like the Corolla right? Or is it that the car won't move at all if a serious electrical or battery issue comes up?

Something must kill a man but, not taking any chances is what will kill a man faster.

So your input guys.

Thanks

why are the questions not answered

If Uber doesn't add it, you can add it urself.
Personally I work alot at night, and I don't carry more than 1guy or 1guy and a Lady, but can carry 3 ladies. There's a lot of trips at night to think if you get to destination and you're not comfortable with a trip and you cancel it, you'll not find another one. Immediately u cancel and drive away from the riders I can assure u you'll get another trip.

I know it's God that saves, but I'll rather have one guy to deal with, than 2-3guys.

Also, there are more armed robbers and killers as riders on bolt than any other app.

Then, avoid 5.0 rated riders at night.
Personally, i don't even pick 5.0 rated riders in the daytime no matter the surge multiplier.

No place is safe!
Follow your mind and ply routes you know hotspots
I mainly drive nights.
I am highly selective.
Bolt even send me message.
I am not a campaign fan and avoid guys as much as possible.
Avoid deserted routes.
If you have more than one rider in your car.
Put your A game. Lower your glass down.
Everybody is a suspect.
No go enter deserted close or street.
I live in Ikeja environs so i stay within berger, ogba, agege, ikeja, magodo cmd, shrine self i dey carry ladies only.
I am hoodlum driver at night. Do anyhow i drop you asap for lonely road. Haha yet my rating na 4.92.

Even Interstate drivers have a general point they stop for anyone who wants to pee...if u can't hold it pee in the car.

Talkless of driving in the night and stopping In the middle of no where for a stranger.. Sum people can't even comport their selves when with female riders. We all shout about how dey all jump to the back..Wen dey used to sit in front and a driver would want to force a conversation, or would stylishly look at her laps more times than he looks at the side mirrors.

If anyone wants to pee, drive to a filling station or restaurant Ffs! Even in the bible people worked and did their due diligence before they got miracles...the woman with the issue of blood, Zacceuss or watever dat short dudes name was, e.t.c cus even with all this risk about the Job preaching this week, by next weekend a driver will still drive 2 random dudes from Santa Cruz beach to an unknown location in Awoyaya.

My brother. I've realized that Nigerians are too emotional and sentimental when religion and death is involved. You're not allowed to speak truth, in order not to hurt feelings. Nigerians want explanation to everything. A dead person who died out of his own carelessness and lack of due diligence, you are not even allowed to state his cause of death, out of "respect for the dead" according to one useless urchin on this platform. I just laugh.

I've read comments from drivers on this thread about the precautions they take on the job to stay alive. I can bet my left nut sack that if any of the drivers above had been in this guy's shoes, they would all be alive today. No where is safe in Nigeria, but I'll boldly say again that in as much as no where is safe, hustle must continue and since hustle must continue, commonsense must be applied.

I'll try my best to outline the exact things I do to keep myself safe, and I hope other drivers who have been applying commonsense would add to what I'll say.

I don't take trips from an unknown address. I don't care who you are, but I'll never pick up at a bustop, by the road side or a deserted street at night.

I don't take a trip where the destination is a bustop, or a lonely zone. Mile 2, mile12, ikorodu, Badagry, everywhere after festac, apapa, ajegunle, any where after sangotedo shoprite at night. If you wait for me, you'll sleep there.

I don't park on the road at night for any reason.

Most trips I take at night are always towards my home.

I never allow a guy sit behind me at night. I'll rather cancel. Few weeks ago, shortly before 10pm, I got a request to ogudu, from idumota at night. Caller was a lady. She sounded like she has been waiting for a trip forever. I decided to go on a 50/50. She was in front on the UBA. I reasoned that UBA is public enough, she could be a staff, and there'll be CCTV. 50/50. She kept calling me till I got there. I got there and called her that I've arrived. She said "OK, we are coming". My mind goes "we?" who the fuck_ is we? She had never used "we" since she has been speaking to me. Red flag. I asked who is the second person, she said her husband. Okay. Normal. Husband and wife.

She entered the car, and called the guy. Red flag. Why weren't they together? OK. Guy enters and seats behind me. Red flag 3. He had a husky agbero voice. Red flag 4. Another husky voice muscular guy enters the front seat. At this point, all the alarm bells in my head goes off at once and my heart beat increased. I was not going on this trip. I immediately shut down the vehicle, and stepped out. Told them I needed water. Went to get water from a woman close-by faked a call, came back to the car and told them I have a family emergency. My wife just called. I cancelled the trip. They were hesitant and told me they'll add more money to the fare. Red flag. I stood my ground and they came down. They were robbers. Short and simple.

Two weeks ago, I was heading towards the international airport. A request came in with a female name, from the airport. I called the number, a guy picked up. Red flag. Guy said he just landed and still inside the plane. Butbi wasn't hearing people's voices, nor the chiming sounds of the cabin of a plane that just landed, nor the voice of cabin crew welcoming them to Lagos. Red flag. I said OK I'll be waiting. I calculated the time that plane would use to taxi to the terminal, time it will take him to alight, time it would take him to go thru customs and immigration, time it would take him to get his luggage, time it will take him to push that luggage to the car park, and it would have been well over 30 mins. So I decided to go buy suya. I had just selected suya and the suya man was putting on fire, the MFker, calls me. Just 10 mins later. He was at the car park, 2nd floor. Dude WTF. Did you fly? Red flag. His background noise was same as earlier call where he claimed to be in the plane. 50/50. I got to the car park and called him. Did you say you were at first floor or second floor? He said second floor. Alarm bells. I replied, you can't be at the second floor because the way to second floor was closed. I cancelled trip and blocked the number.

I once received a request around mushin. Destination on app was lekki. A husky agbero voice MFker calls me and said he was heading to sagamu. Oh really, so you'll rob me along the way Abi? Told him I was coming and then I cancelled the trip. He called me 15 mins later with their usual parlance "where are you? " told him I'm almost there. Guess he's still waiting for me.

God's grace saves. Part of God's grace is common sense. Your body must warn you of danger. It always does. It's called sixth sense. I call it commonsense. If you ignore it, whatever you see, you take. If anyone here decides to pick up four guys going to the shrine at night, they are welcome to do so. The story said it was an uber request. I say it was an offline trip and those guys have used him for offline before now. He knew them. Again, police adds pepper and Maggi to stories. I once witnessed a crime in VI where the uber driver suspected he was about to be robbed and raised alarm. When the story came out, it was twisted.

I expect uber to deny this story. The trip will not be in their system because it's offline. No one remains online at 10:27pm in the comfort of a woman. No one.

Story also said they went to shrine after killing him. Shrine is the hotbed of all criminals in Lagos. If you continue to receive requests there, good luck to you. Drivers get robbed there everyday. Many times, a lot of deadly accidents could be avoided if commonsense was applied. A lot of deaths would be avoided if common sense was applied. Most times, the difference between life and death is common sense.

Attack me all you want, I really don't give a shit_ not now, not ever. I said what I said, and I stand by it.
