Agreed. People.

Very interested to know the percentage of these people? Maybe the Nigerian bad unemployment rate is actually a scam and exaggerated as these multinational lots are swallowing them in from what you have said.

Mate, not everyone will work with multinational companies.

We barely know anything about the OP but for him to bring this topic to a public forum shows he’s probably in serious need and desperate. Asking him to defer a salary job that is more than the minimum wage in sh*t hole Nigeria is a crazy thing to do.

The OP should keep the job and try to work out how to do the NYSC while he’s still employed over there.

Then after that probably get a visa and leave if he wants.
Once again base on his presentation, he is thinking if he starts the job, he will no longer be interested in nysc which is quite dangerous. I don't know the place he got the 80k job, but it is certainly not an organized place that will offer him an opportunity to grow. Any reasonable place here even apart from multinationals will demand for your nysc certificate as part of the your documentation process. Without it, it is harder to advance your career. Well, I still insist the 80k he is thinking of is not really worth to distract him from completing his nysc. Also completing his nysc will not stop him from relocating to anywhere he wishes. If he work the two together, good for him, though I still think he doesn't have that luxury.

Oga go for the work and when you call up come, go for examption because you may need it one day to be someone in life. Your work is private and you can not be sure what will happen to the company one day.

Just got a job offer of about 80k per month and I planned on going for NYSC before the year ends.

Which should I go for, knowing that I may no longer be interested in serving after getting a job?

Another poorly backed review without a valid proof, oh well the typical Nigerian style of reasoning

“I don't know the place he got the 80k job, but it is certainly not an organized place that will offer him an opportunity to grow.”

Yah the employers didn’t include NYSC in their conditions for employment already makes them “not organized” and won’t offer him an opportunity to grow.

Because of NYSC?

Don’t quote me again bro.

Relocate to the state your job is located and serve under the organization.

Collect salary and free allawee for a year
How can one go about this? I'm on the verge of getting an offer in lagos too and I would love if I can get the Nysc done while working.

Thats how they told me I should go for NYSC.
When I reached camp, I met a girl with curves and it seems she has a spring in her wasit. She twerks more than Jane Mena.

We were on the field one evening for drills, and they called some corpers to come and dance to some music. It was the inter-platoon drills competition finals.

My babe came out and started twerking. The whole place went wild.
Later, one army officer cornered my babe and bleeped her that night in camp.

NYSC is.....
does this make sense to you

As a graduate you need to be wiser in decision making .

I was in your shoe some years back I had to choose job over nysc . l really thank God Almighty for making me to had made such a decision.

Though I later applied for nysc exemption or exclusion letter which I was given.

Sincerely Nigeria economy is not friendly as we speak, you needs to be wiser to be able to survive in this country.

I would tell you from experience that I am what I am and NYSC had a huge roll to play.
I had always been a Lagos dude. Never travelled out except during Christmas Hols with family to Ibadan.
When NYSC came calling i was posted South East north of Benin - Its been a while so ill mention the area Auchi. Dad wanted to " Change it to Lagos" but I declined. So Auchi I went and wow.
- The selfless service - Community Service
- Comraderie ( Meeting people from different backgrounds and idealogy)
- Allowance - No bills to pay ( Just food, clothing and travel)
- Belief - I joined the Christian Corpers and leant a lot of life skills and situations.
- Growth - That one year made you see Nigeria in a different way
- Ladies - Wow is all I can say God is really really good.
So, I didnt have the Job temptation you have and so you'll ultimately have to decide but the experience I notched under my belt for 18months still stays with me till today.
Serving at a later stage in life isn't the same once you have responsibilities. If you're head of the family or have to assist then the Job sounds like an amazing prospect but if you are young and wild and free then go Serve your motherland o jare !

Go for the job instead of NYSC that you will spend one worthless year after which you will start hustling for job but if you don't want the job link me up am rounding up my service year bro.

If I were you I will work my service to the place of the job. You can run them concurrently if you are a sharp guy.
Truth is, you need NYSC discharge certificate. Though 80k offer may be enticing now but future better offers that will require the cert are on the way. You may gnash your teeth then if you don't have it.

You didn't tell us your age and as such we can't give you adequate advise. However of you're in your mid twenties take the job and do service later but in you're in late twenties like 29 go for service as that 80k job might debar you from many good offers that may come later if only you served.
u are the only person with sense..kudos.u nailed it..he could also get exemption..but that one na on certain ground.80k is nothing...33k is nothing...

Go for NYSC, try and connect with many people as possible. During that period, spend many times on Nairaland business section.

You will not regret it ...

Survey will give you that, only online survey.
