So you want to hold the ordinary Nigerians looking for their daily bread responsible for this mess called NNPC, who and who constitute the board that really makes the decisions in NNPC, are they not northerners? Are they not to be held responsible? When they packed people that do not know anything about the job into the decision making position because they have father, uncle and relations in government how do you blame ordinary Nigerians for that?

So, for saying that Southerners and middle belters work at NNPC....you are crying.

Plus there are a lot of non-Northerners in NNPC management...plus NNPC was headed by a lot of SOutherners when the refienreis were going down right from the 1990's.

Anyway, the problem with our refinereis is simple. We don't let them run at a profit because we want cheap fuel. We don't let marketerts control the price, we let government.

NNPC bosses have been saying that...including the Northerner in charge now, and one of his Southerner predecessors.

And by the way, I think the North has too much power too...but NNPC's issue is very simple. Businesses are not meant to be run to help the poor.

There is honor among thieves, but is like sirjamo is below the level of thieves.

The problem is some Nigerians thought that when Atiku was calling for NNPC to be privatised, there was ulterior motive. There wasn't. It was a statement of fact.

Stop been stereotype....that's not the only way....The first step is to have both private & government owned working Refineries

@SENIORWRITER

We have 20 licenses for private refineries (it was more than that) that haven't been taken up because no one wants to be forced by the subsidy regime and government controlled prices to refine fuel at a loss.

Plus, NNPC refineries are bad for the same reason. Refining at a loss.Because subsidy

But everytime subsidy removal has been proposed ( not the lie lie one Buhari and company have done)...Nigerians cry poverty.

The only way for the refienreis to work is simple.

Let marketers control the price of fuel...not the government. And privatize NNPC.

Sure, we would pay for fuel at N300 per liter or higher, but in return..THERE would be enough money to fix refineries, enough money to make them work.

And NNPC won't dare let the refineries run down because as a result...they would lose profits if they do.

And we would get more and more people investing in refineries.because NOW it is profitable to refine at home , rather than import.

Finally, we would stop the illegal smuggling of our subsidized fuel abroad.

The same thing they said about NEPA. What exactly has changed?

This illiterate, certificateless, quota-system & fura da nono-drinking bastard President & his stupid Vice President said they were going to build us one Refinery every year. What stopped them from fulfilling their fake & useless promises?

I know that you’re a paid BMC charlatan as your moniker was just registered on Nairaland last month (August 27) and my spirit is strongly telling me that this is none other than “NASIR EL-RUFAI” hiding under this moniker because the nepotistic & tribalistic bastard has always been at the forefront of the Petroleum Subsidy removal.

But let me quickly make one thing clear to you. If you & your fellow direction-less rogues in Government dare tamper with the Subsidy; the only thing you will remember before we start hunting your bastard children like kangaroos in the wild while Nigeria is completely burnt down to ashes is that instead of reading about Tonto Dike, Annie Idibia & BBN; Nigerians will be reading your obituaries on the pages of newspapers & all social media platforms - Foolish, Despicable & Greedy Bastards!

Note: That stupid quota-system arithmetic you’re asking me about buying & selling of 10kg bag of rice should be directed to your brainless campaign managers & economic teams who met a bag of 50kg foreign rice at 8,500Naira when APC came to power in 2015 while the same bag is now being sold at over 40,000Naira.

Like I said earlier, if you tamper with the Petroleum Subsidy - AMA PA IYALAYA GBOGBO YIN NI!

If Nigeria is broke, it is very simple; shut down the National Assembly and all the MDAs with all their over-bloated & useless padded budgets. We do not need them because they are of no use to the average Nigerian.

You heard what Rotimi Amaechi said last week; “IF WE’RE NOT CAREFUL, WE’LL BE CHASED OUT OF ABUJA”.

https://dailytrust.com/amaechi-if-we-are-not-careful-well-be-chased-out-of-abuja

Yes, that is simply because Rotimi Amaechi’s cosmic extrasensory perceptor is in order and can detect the chaos & free-for-all anarchy that will ensue should you BASTARDS IN GOVERNMENT dare make another wrong move!

You are one of the problems of this country. So tell me, you expect a continuous subsidy of fuel? How did it make you fell that we had three refineries and the president is the minister of petroleum and alot of oil wells and none of the refineries are working? How do you expect to fix the problem without removing subsidy which your Mr integrity promised but refused to do and even protested against gej who tried to do it? How do you raise money to make the refineries work?

Ha

Before you start....I would like you to answer this question

You buy rice at N25000 a 10kg bag to sell at N30000 a bag to make a profit of N5000

Would you agree to government asking you to sell that bag of rice at N5000, while they pay you a subsidy of N3000 a bag 'to help the poor'.?

Note that means you end up losing N20000 per bag, before the N3000 subsidy is paid.

Considering that the refineries were already not producing at 2011....LONG before Buhari took over.....

Also, it is Buhari's fault too. He should have removed subsidies, allowed NNPC to be privatized, and cut FG allocations to NNPC, so that NNPC lives off its profits...meaning the refineries would be working in months...because if they weren't NNPC loses.

But because he promised Nigerians N40 fuel, he won't do it.

Likewise all his predecessors. They know. But they don't want the polticial fallout of high pump prices.

Stop making illogical excuses for Buhari with your mild, self-serving, court jester remark. He promised Nigerians #40 per liter, so how much are we buying it now? Mind you, as at today, subsidy still hasn’t ended. The same empty brained president criticized Jonathan when he attempted removing this same subsidy & ensure a full scale deregulation of the sector; claiming there was no such thing? So what exactly has he done now rather than threw the sector into a catastrophic situation? So much for ‘pie-ting’ corruption. Paying employees for doing absolutely nothing Jeez.

PDP had 16 years to privatize NNPC without doing it. Out of the 16 years, Atiku served for 8 years as the chairman of National council of privatization. So, what’s your point exactly?

Btw, Atiku only started talking about privatization of NNPC in 2019. So many people have been talking about deregulation of the downstream sector since the early 1990’s. So, why are you trying to make it look like Atiku came up with a solution that nobody ever thought of before?

Anyway, this discussion is no longer necessary because the PIB has been passed and NNPC will now be fully commercialized in less than 6 months. So, tell your rogue Atiku to go and rest, he will never be able to sell NNPC to his friends and fronts.

our dependence on fuel is largely caused by the logistics required to deliver products, once fuel price goes up, every product that requires fuel consumption for delivery or manufacturing automatically increases their price

If government can detach fuel price increases from having such a direct effect on consumer product prices, things will get better, options are plenty, I don't understand why those in charge don't think

Food prices and other products will
rise in price astronomicallyy and the fall in the value of naira will even make it more expensive than it is going to be self.

All these will lead to Nationwide hunger and as we all know, a hungry man is an angry man.Crime rate is already high but if price of fuel increase ehnn, may God help the poor and middle class.Robbery, murder, kidnapping and more will be the order of the day.

Infact,it is safe to say that the country will turn into anarchy, worse than it currently is in.
