A weak mind will always produce weak results. I will tell you the truth no matter how painful it will be ... digest it! I was a smoker like you 2packs a day, but I haven't touched cigarettes in years and never again. Recently I quit smoking weed and that one too I will never return to again I want to share with yout my own tips for quiting whatever is pulling me down. First I would like to know if you know the root of your addiction everything we do is compelled by something somehow because nothing happens in a vacuum. Everything equals out to zero. So what are you trying to numb is it emotional, historical, failures, illnesses, relationships, evil dids, regrets? What? If you can answer it truthfully you will have found the cause of your mental addiction. The addiction of your body to those things will dissipate once you cure the addiction of your mind. Now once you figure the reason why you are running from reality, challenge it and face it, God will never put a problem too big for a man to handle it's only if he chooses not to handle it, then he falls under the pressure, but if he rises to the chaallege, he comes out the other end a stronger person. Fight!!!! Fight It brother !!! Go to War!! Be ruthless with It be aggressive with it do whatever you can to resist the temptation beat it into the ground. Place it in front of you as the enemy within... The snake that kisses and wraps around you only to snuff the life out of you while singing lullabies . You need to have a mental picture of it and begin to starve it with all the focus humanly possible. It takes just 21 days to rewire your mind out of habits so I will ask you this Can you fight it for 21 days? Are you man enough to face your demons and fix your life or will you continue to waste away till you become food for worms? It is because there is greatness in you that is why the devil will never let you have a clear mind but if only you can leave the stable of the pigs and sit on your throne then you will realize what you have been robbed of. Fight brother don't take it as quiting... take it as a war.. all the anger and frustration of hteyour kind of life addiction has deprived you of use is as rocket fuel... be angry be very angry .. It is your life we are talking here Fight!!!!! 21 day is that too much to ask? This life is the only thing we are sure about and I will tell you what I found out, the only way is to live to the highest possible good that you can achieve if you die today, what will be your legacy? 21 days try it if you haven't already because it worked for me. 4 Likes |

AlmonDeLemon: Addiction is part of life. Your case is not different. The worst that can happen to you as a result of your addiction is DEATH. The good news is that everyone will still DIE, addiction or not. 3 Likes |

Op, I can relate with your worries. Quittng alcohol is the best decision I've ever made in my life. The benefits of sobriety far outweighs whatever benefits one can get from alcohol. And yes, quitting is extremely difficult since overtime, one's body get used to alcohol and abrupt discontinuation can lead to withdrawal symptoms which are, frankly, extremely uncomfortable and even life threatening. I advise you check into a psychiatric hospital, where you are likely to be placed on a detox program (basically some drugs can help reduce the severity of the withdrawals while). You can also join online alcohol help groups, there's one on Reddit. Good luck, man. 1 Like |

Just stop already. The moment you realize you weren't born smoking then you will be free from it. It's a habit you picked up by yourself so it's a habit you'll need to drop by yourself too. |

You have gotten to the point where you need to choose between staying alive healthy or die slowly. Having multiple health problems is already a sign to quit. There is no two way about it. Either you choose to stay alive or die slowly. You've got to make up your mind and fast. |

Best advise :I pray God deliver you, rededicate your life to Jesus and see how your life transform. 2nd advise: when you feel the urge for smoking or drinking alcohol again, cut your self with a blade, by the time you feel that pain, no one will teach you how to stop. You will definitely stop because you won't want to hurt yourself. |

You can only trade addictions before you finally end it Once you make the decision to stop Alcohol, then you must have sleeping pills , depressants or Valium handy for the sleepless night And to quit tobacco you must get, e-cigar, or any moderate caffeinated beverages or kola handy at all times . |
Re: Help! Addiction Has Taken Everything... by smile11s(m): 2:31pm On Sep 13, 2021 |
Just the fact that you are worried about it and you want to stop, that’s a good sign. My advise is take it day by day. When you wake up in the morning just tell yourself I will not drink or stop. Do whatever it takes not to drink or stop. Repeat the next day. It’s gonna be hard and a struggle but it will only be for a few days. You need to train your brain on how to exist without dependent on alcohol. Sorry our brain is a tricky one. Once we can understand it, we will be free. |

You can’t just wake up and say you’ve quit. You first have to reduce the daily intake. If say you take 12 sticks of cigarettes a day, reduce it to 6 and spread it across the day. Do that for a month or two. Then cut it to four and keep cutting till one per day. Stay on 1 per day for weeks and start substituting with sweets. Do same with alcohol but substitute alcohol with ORS. 1cup daily. 1 Like |

AlmonDeLemon: I might sound spiritual but it worked for me. Go on your knees and talk to God about it from a sincere heart. Take conscious steps to stop and somehow, you will stop, somehow. I used to be a chain smoker and this is how I quit, although I still drink (because I enjoy it) but not heavily. We would remember you in our prayers. Cheers bro. |

AlmonDeLemon:A year ago I was in the same situation. Jokingly, I made up my mind and quit, coupled with prayers. My wife hate me any time she notice I smoke, though I will lie to her that I have not smoke. Some time I will sit down and asked myself how can common cigarette, non living thing for that matter control me. God finally delivered me from such shameful habit. Firstly, I will advice you reduce alcohol intake, cause once you drink alcohol the next thing is cigarette. It's just self determination you will overcome. Don't listen to what people are saying that you can still live longer despite smoking and drinking, human system are different, your immune system is different from others. One may smoke and live long other may smoke and die young. The ball is in your court, take a bold step and quit, don't let anything control you. 3 Likes |

AlmonDeLemon: Might sound funny the best and easiest way to stop is to replace it with another addiction. Try hanging out with sensible ladies- this will make you stop faster as they wont like you oozing of cigarette and alcohol. |
