then correct the date of birth on your admission letter.. how will one person have two dobs?

I was told i have to swear an affidavit
Then change my bvn to the new name because the new name on my nin must tally with my bvn.

I'm sure you can get in Port Harcourt. While I was there yesterday, I know of a man who applied yesterday and got it yesterday but at a very high cost. I guess he paid about 75k.

I started feeling bad when I saw different messages about Ikoyi office and its unavoidable delays . So surprised when my agent called me yesterday that my passport is ready. I paid 45k sha. His office is inside that federal training center beside Passport office.

I didn't do DIY so I cant really answer that.But for change of name,I dont advice you to do DIY cos you need someone on the inside to help monitor and track the progess of your application.

I actually paid 20k.For myself and my child.It was frustrating but I just needed to do it cos I needed it urgently but thank God,the nin dropped the next day after waiting for months.

Yes...you'll need a newspaper publication and an affidavit stating the actual name

You need
1.Affidavit from Federal high court with receipt stapled behind it.
2.Newspaper publication
3.NIN verification.Make sure you register your NIN early enough then be ready to pay for it to drop.
Change of name cost me over(that's more than)80k

So really angry .. I did capturing 16th of June. A week later my agent said I have to go NIN office as regards change of name...I went back and forth. I was able to change that was first week in July sent it to my processor. 3 weeks later I was told it has been verified. Weeks become months. So today I decided to go myself. Tomorrow will make it 3 month. And I was told. Record not found I wanted to faint.. Went to meet my processor he was just saying rubbish..my husband own was saying coded. My son own that I just did AA. I had to pay someone for the NIN to drop. He said they will do it from abuja..na Ikoyi I still dey. My husband own they said booklet has finish like this.. Am.just angry

I changed my middle and surname after marriage. I was at Abeokuta passport office to do change of name (DIY) today and was told it is best for me to do change of name on my passport in Abuja.
Please has anyone had success doing this outside Abuja?

Ps -Abeokuta is quite DIY friendly. I found it very organized and people were quite wiling to help. The lady attending to me made several calls and kept going to confer with other people and teasing me for doing self download. The only thing is that time from capture for DIY/ self download is like 4 - 6 weeks. And they don't have booklets at the moment so they have a backlog ( overheard this while waiting).

It is possible to change your centre if you haven't captured and it is in the same price range (17k versus 26k). I initially paid for another control but they helped me change it to Abeokuta when I had complaints. I printed out a new payment slip, acknowledgement slip and form. You can open the portal and do the live chat. They respond quite promptly.

Lastly, some people asked about Ibadan. I was there this week and was told they have produced passports from June and July so if you captured then you may want to check again.
