I'm finding it difficult to track my order with track no NGxxxx on track24. It's telling me invalid tracking no.

If you read few pages back all these have been explained extensively.

One of my Speedaf packages just got cleared from Customs since 9th. It has been dispatched. You might want to check yours too if it was previously stuck at "Customs Clearance".

Note that it was my package with NG******R that just got cleared. The NG*****O one is still being cleared.

My NG*****R is still stock since on the 9th too. The funny thing is that it’s a combined package ( three in one )

Thank you. So I should just let it go?

Assuming the item you intended to use it for is a few dollars, I'd had suggested you go along with using it so as to establish or do otherwise to those suspicions I raised.

But I will still suggest you ignore the first time user coupon, but use the discount coupon the seller offers. Also note that in the event of opening dispute, you will only be refunded the amount you paid (excluding the promo fees and shipping fees)

I ordered 5 items since the 27th of July, received 3 over a month ago and the last 2 are yet to arrive. What baffles me is that one of them shows arrived at destination country over a month ago I haven't received it. Tracking number starts with RU. Does this mean my package is lost or something fishy is going on, I'm very concerned cause it's very precious to me.

Thanks for assisting. I used track24.net and this is what I saw. What does failed delivery mean? They never contacted me for any delivery should I still wait a day or two?

This "failed delivery" does not mean the literal meaning. It simply implies that your parcel has arrived its last bust stop - the post office and already recorded in their database (they still use books and pen in this age of digital records)

So since they have not called you yet, I advice you just visit the post office that have been calling you for parcels before now.

Track this on Cainiao website (while it is outside Nigeria) and then on Speedaf website (by the time it gets into Nigeria)

I can't recall the websites, but it be worth it if you google the links for the two shippers.

Is this package quite a big one? Cos I've never seen customs disturbing themselves over small items and still keep it for days on end. It's unusual.

I just did and In response to the person you initially quoted, I have one Anker charger I ordered since July And its stuck in departed country of origin since.

I think I will avoid anything that has to do with free shipping from now on.

It's not about free shipping or not... Even with free shipping the shipping fee is in the cost of the product

All those orders with tracking number that begins with RU, RB etc are mostly attributed to free delivery. Most times I pay for delivery I get the NG tracking number which takes between 5 to 10 days to deliver.

I did, thanks.
I didn't get an extension of protection period when I opened my dispute so it didn't work for me. It was my first order on Aliexpress and I wasn't aware of the procedures to follow for disputes.

It seems the honeymoon phase with Speedaf is over. embarassed

I received a mail from them this evening

I asked to find out if home deliveries have ceased and the customer rep replied that the particular package was on Economy delivery and referred me to a phone number to contact if I would like to make delivery arrangements.

I guess FOC home deliveries for Cainiao Economy shipping have been discontinued.

My brother or sister, No one had any honeymoon phase with anyone and no one gave anyone anything for FOC. The Nigerian factor has just crept in. It is illegal, simple.

Didn't you observe that the original message sent to your phone says "pls be available for delivery " without mentioning any further charges . This is because aliexpress also automatically receives such messages in their system. When you check the tracking status, don't you notice that it says "problem, self pick up". The only time they ask you for money is when they you contact them directly. That correspondence doesn't get to aliexpress or Speedaf headquarters in China.

This was exactly how NIPOST started with their " handling charges" and "failure delivery ". It was when the management of NIPOST got the wind that Nigerians were readily paying their staff N200 and N500 because everyone is always excited to collect their parcels that they feel N200 is almost nothing compared to amount paid the items. Those "handling charges" are still not NIPOST formal income. They limit it to each post office to use as imprest.

Duties are different. They are the only cost you need to pay when your item arrives. But most Nigerians don't know that according to the law, they is a minimum limit for duties. In Nigeria, you are not supposed to pay duties for items less than N50, 000. For example, in the United States, it is $800. No one should be charging you handling charges. But the only way to stop it would be for someone to sue NIPOST. But who sues someone because they don't want to pay N200 for an item they are excited to receive? They know that. And they are an organ of government.

Free shipping is not actually free. You pay for it with the cost of an item, no matter how inexpensive. It is offset by economies of scale. But free shipping is free shipping. You are not expected to pay anything once it arrives, unless it qualifies for duties.

Hence, Speedaf Nigeria was not doing you any favour by "free" home delivery. It is part of their agreement with aliexpress and part of the settlement and retairnership. But those running it in Nigeria want to play a fast one and keep a chunk of the money they get from aliexpress, which actually owns shares in the company with headquarters in China. Speedaf Nigeria is an outsourcing partner.

The N500 they may collect from you or the fuel their riders will save for not coming to your house is actually a lot of money when put together. Unlike, NIPOST that is difficult to stop, Nigerians can stop this by complaining en mass to aliexpress customer care that they are collecting money for free shipping . The Nigerian franchise wouldn't want to lose their business with aliexpress. They actually only deliver items below the threshold of duties. So, no money should exchange hands.

On point..Wisdom, don't leave me bro.

Another angle is that customers mostly tip and pay the spurious handling charges because, otherwise, the (NIPOST) workers will maliciously hide your items, refuse to text you or just generally frustrate subsequent collections. And the ogas will do nothing for you.

Order through someone, you say?

Well, I believe the whole idea of this thread is to encourage guys to DIY importation. The only place there seem to be a challenge is the limit on Nigerian debit cards pegged at 100usd which is a recent thing. That is the place you may want to employ the services of a 3rd party that has capacity to go beyond the limit to help you pay. But even then this is not so advisable because of fraudsters all over the place. And there are ways you can go around the 100usd limit by reaching an agreement with the seller, something which has been discussed several times here.

Knowledge is power indeed, as your handler emphasises.

So does this imply that if I buy heavy items that costs less than 50k (that costs 49k maybe), DHL or most especially UPS (FedEx has been quite reasonable and has never sent me such mails) or all those other yẹ̀yẹ́ expedited shipping companies are not supposed to send me message to pay duty into their account? UPS usually send a breakdown of all charges to my email.

KnowledgeIsPawa:

And does this also imply that any item, no matter how big it is, that will attract duty is not channeled thru Speedaf?

This is very succinct, thank you.

Yeah one fraudster has already contacted me.

I just need a smartphone from Goldway Store at $150 but Genius implied that I might be sanctioned by Aliexpress for split payment as they don't allow it.

Keep tracking, it hasn't gotten to when you will either be contacted to come and pick up or if it will be a door delivery.
