Both of them are bad uniform men, trust me.

One has been cursed to die while the other has been cursed to misbehave...

1/1/2011 -Police officer Ben shot a trader while trying to extort some street urchins. After firing indiscriminately, he fled the scene.

1/1/2011 -Dr Rita was upstairs in the hospital trying to draft her application for migration to Canada when the trader was brought in by some passerby. The tired nurses kept demanding for a police report. Dr Rita could wave the need for a report and do a first aid which could save the traders life, but she was more passionate about her application and instructed the nurses to insist on a police report before any admission was made. The passerby threatened to abandon the trader, but the hospital security officials screamed at him and almost assaulted him. The passerby regretted his involvement in all of it and promised never to do such assist again in his life. Soon, he drove to the hospital in the next neighbourhood, where the nurses insisted on a deposit, they did knowing the trader has lost a lot of blood and would not survive the hour.

1/2/2011- Several blogs picked up the story and reported the shooting, the story was on trend all through the morning and it seemed everyone on twitter were piqued by the event. The police PRO, CSP Kazeem promised an investigation. It will be the 1,989 pending investigation of civilian casualties in such extrajudicial killing.

1/2/2011- In the evening, the family of the trader had to pay to get her out of the morgue. There were witnesses to her murder but the police insisted on an autopsy but they also wanted the trader to be buried along with her story, so the police secretly facilitated the release of her body and burial… all was soon quiet. Salewa, an undergraduate in U.I couldn’t care less; Abraham in unilag was more interested in the champions league game; Kazeem, a civil servant was not even aware; unemployed Seun was more interested in what the trader sold and if he can explore such.

1/3/2011- Only two news channel reported on the trader briefly while Bobrisky calling himself a sugar mummy trended.

1/4/2021- Dr Rita flew back to Nigeria with her son after several years abroad. The son wanted to see how Lagos looked like. He linked up with some old pals. They were stopped on the highway by the police, who demanded to check through his phone but he insisted and refused. The police assaulted him and as he defended himself, the police soon shot him. Dr Rita’s son was rushed to an hospital on the mainland, and he was rejected due to want of a police report. He soon died.

1/5/2021- CSP Kazeem retired only 7 months ago. His son had pictures of his father’s pistol on his phone and that was enough evidence to get him killed by the police.

And in the end, all of those that were indifferent to the trader’s death suffered similar fate as did, the trader.
This should made into a movie and titled "Karma": The Nigerian Vice

NIWA should retrain their personnel and the armed guys in their operations.

Most times, they act very unprofessionally putting their selves in harm way. However, the army guy should be tried and punished accordingly.

The Rat Trap

(Author Unknown)

A rat looked through a crack in the wall to see the farmer and his wife opening a package. What food might it contain? He was aghast to discover that it was a rat trap. Retreating to the barnyard the rat proclaimed the warning; “There’s a rat trap in the house, a rat trap in the house!”

The chicken clucked and scratched, raised her head and said, “Excuse me, Mr. Rat, I can tell this is a grave concern to you, but it is of no consequence to me. I cannot be bothered by it.”

The rat turned to the pig and told him, “There’s a rat trap in the house, a rat trap in the house!” “I am so very sorry Mr. Rat,” sympathized the pig, “but there is nothing I can do about it but pray. Be assured that you are in my prayers.”

The rat turned to the cow. She said, “Like wow, Mr. Rat. a rat trap. I am in grave danger. Duh?” So the rat returned to the house, head down and dejected, to face the farmer’s rat trap alone.

That very night a sound was heard throughout the house, like the sound of a rat trap catching its prey. The farmer’s wife rushed to see what was caught. In the darkness, she did not see that it was a venomous snake whose tail the trap had caught. The snake bit the farmer’s wife. The farmer rushed her to the hospital. She returned home with a fever.

Now everyone knows you treat a fever with fresh chicken soup, so the farmer took his hatchet to the barnyard for the soup’s main ingredient.

His wife’s sickness continued so that friends and neighbors came to sit with her around the clock. To feed them the farmer butchered the pig.

The farmer’s wife did not get well. She died, and so many people came for her funeral that the farmer had the cow slaughtered to provide meat for all of them to eat.

So the next time you hear that someone is facing a problem and think that it does not concern you, remember that when there is a rat trap in the house, the whole barnyard’s at risk.

( The Rat — for whom the trap was set — got away!). It made me think of the basic truth that indeed, we are all connected that what affects me today will at some tomorrow ahead, also affect you about how an appreciation of systems, systems thinking and networks is so vital to our approach to understanding, diagnosing and solving intractable social problems.
