Not everyone is smart or intelligent. We all can't be the same. The fact you can do it doesn't mean everyone should be able to do it.

But she is right. Everyone should be able to do it and everyone should be smart and intelligent if planning to go for a master's degree in a developed country university.

Otherwise, how is that person planning to cope with their study? In the same way in which most people study in Nigeria?

I don't think one has to even be either to fill a basic straightforward form about one's personal information.

Exactly.

And at the end of most data capture forms like the visa form, there would be a column asking if it was filled by the applicant or a representative.

My statement is based on" personal experience"...not on general narratives.

Thanks

How does your personal experience represent many nairalanders?

There is no need questioning my personal opinion on something or someone I only speak from personal experience. If you have a contradictory fact you spell it out straight up. Lets not start an unhealthy argument.

When you say many people it's no longer a personal opinion.
So kindly speak only on what you know if you can't give names.

Thank you.

I have been having some difficulties with paying my deposit which is £3500. First Bank is declining my transaction. I was told to open a domiciliary acct. This domiciliary thing is delaying me. I am still searching for a current account holder who's not using it for salary, to stand in as a second referee.

Does anyone here have a similar experience and how did you resolve yours?

Zoopla, trovit, spareroom, gumtree

These are useful resource links you can utilise to get your desired accomodation.

Search for your preferred type, hit the agent or landlord up via email and explain your circumstances that you are an international student coming in for the first time.

You'll typically need a guarantor to getone though but you can still make pre-atrival plans to get somewhere on the interim.

I have a friend who just graduated from Sheffield though but trust out naija people have showed him so it is difficult to recommend to him for help now. His family usually house new arrivals for a while till they find their footing.

I am not compelling anyone to agree with me I only gave my opinion. This is a public space

You are the one quoting and asking me for further details. This conversation doesn't need to be prolonged.
Last time I checked I never countered your statement nor your opinion.

I only gave my fair opinion using my space not cajoling nairalanders to agree or like and I don't think I have said anything out of place.

Use another bank to pay your tuition deposit. Open an account with a bank that doesn’t delay if you don’t have account with the bank

I wanted to ‘waka pass’ from this conversation but just had to chip this in.

When you get to the UK (will not use ‘if’), do not, I repeat, DO NOT try this. Unlearn it now by filling this ‘complicated’ visa application form yourself. Nobody should be privy to ANY information about you.

You can PM for information, that’s your choice (though all you need is right here), but do not open up your LIFE via your application to anyone.

Identity theft is real. One day you wake up and you have bad credit or called in by the police on charges you know absolutely nothing about.

This is not a blame game nor an IQ test challenge.

A friend just finished a 4 year long battle to clear a case on identity theft.

Why not change some of the pounds you have into Naira and pay with Form A? It’s the easiest and most affordable means and the fast via UBA or Titan Trust Bank. The rate is usually 580 , so do your calculations.

Wow, your testimony has given me hope, because we did our biometrics same day, same TLS Ikeja, got the the non straight forward mail a day after yours, that means possibly tomorrow we'll get ours as well... I really advice anyone applying to avoid standard if you don't want high bp
Hallylim:
Alhamdulilahi Robbil’alamin. I’ve begged God so much to give me the grace n opportunity to be able to type this.

Visa alert! Visa alert!! Visa alert!!!
Family of 3
I see this visa as a miracle.
Application 12/08/2021
Biometrics 13/08/2021
Non straightforward mail 31st/08/2021

Then different negative thoughts started ringing in our heads.
Issues we had;
•mistake in my baby’s consent letter (could be seen as minor)
•hubby was refused in US and two other countries but we tot declaring only one was sufficient and we declared only US.

Those 4 weeks and 4 days we waited for seemed like forever. Waking up with sadness mixed with headache, anxiety, high BP, fear and all sort. But we really prayed, my mum over prayed. Alhamdulilah it’s all joy now.
In fact, it was the non straight forward mail that led me to nairaland because I just needed to mix with pple who can understand me. I mailed a number of pple privately here, all due to my fear. Standard application is indeed something to stay clear of!
I pray other waiting applicants get their visas with joy, aameen.

What happens in a few years, when perhaps you’re trying to leave the UK to another country for visit or some other business, and you write you have relatives cos you’ve of course totally forgotten about your student visa application where you lied. You do not think this may backfire?

The thing is that the relative question is even not clear on the visa form. Because siblings are not listed under the relatives.
