They downgraded bro. They didn't leave entirely, all the same I see the larger point you are trying to make.

The French have conducted independent military adventurism outside the US, case in point Mali.

France was not part of the NATO nuclear deterrent until 2009 - meaning if a country would attack a NATO member with nukes the US and UK would retaliate instantly per NATO treaty. France decided not to sign this part of the treaty back then.

Nobody is merely massaging another's ego. Once there's shared interest and values, automatically there would be shared support.

Also, India is not as allied to the west as you might think. In fact they are kind of closer to Russia than the US. Beyond that, India is focused on carving out a niche for itself as a global superpower and not just allied with one, same with Brazil.

China is no friend of India. At some stage within this decade they have to decide which way to go. The Russia-China coalition against the US & allies might force them to lean closer towards west.

I don't think any Russia China Coalition exists. The only thing they both are against it US international influence. Russia is fighting it by criticism while China is trying to become the new influencer. in a cost effective way.

The truth is that US influence might reduce but China will not still take over. There will just be more super powers, roughly balanced.

First of all national interest is not known to be reliable, if you follow them, before Yahoo stopped comment in Yahoo News , you will pick holes on their stories steadily, in fact national interest and a few other think tanks, that made Yahoo news stop comments, because Yahoo news was steadily quoted as been inaccurate, the second link you gave, didn't give a definitive answer , but merely speculated .
And anything concerning Israel is always filled with speculation, but if the germans who gave Israel the technology and built that submarine doesn't fire nuclear weapons from theirs, and are not pro-nuclear weapon spread, it just makes the scale tip the more towards, their submarine doesn't fire nuclear weapons.
Apart from that the Israeli version are downgraded export version .
cool story bro but I ain't here for your opinion wink

FYI the kaliber is the cruise missiles carried on Russian kilo subs wink....

Of course they are. Nuclear missiles are usually BMs
cruise missiles like the Russian kalibr kan also carrier nuclear warheads wink

As I said before its the warhead that makes it nuclear or not nuclear... Not the missile itself

Frenchs are crying rivers because US stoles from them the 60 billions dollars submarin contract with australia

EVERYTHING was wrapped up back in 2017! I had a post.

Spare a thought for first world acquisition issues!

Imagine when along with a high GDP per capita, you already have one of the highest standards of living in the world. The electorate, despite political differences recognizes the need for strong armed forces with working platforms. The civilian economic infrastructure has the necessary tech and experience to handle anything the AF may need.

If you need subs you buy a whole fv cking fleet cause you'll create thousands of well paying high tech jobs for engineers, designers, supervisors and technicians building, maintaining, upgrading and repairing subs to last the duration of their minimum 20 year lifecycle.

So when Oz buys 12 DCNS Barracudas, all to be home built for 41 bn$, I doff my hat and say ,"Advance australia fair," Good on you mofos;I'm jealous!

Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull and French Minister for Defense Jean-Yves Le Drian signed an intergovernmental agreement (IGA) for the construction of australia’s future submarine fleet on December 20, according to an Australian government press release.

The agreement establishes the legal framework for the development and construction of 12 Shortfin Barracuda Block 1A submarines, a diesel-electric derivative of French shipbuilder Direction des Constructions Navales Services’ (DCNS) Barracuda-class nuclear attack submarine under the Royal Australian Navy’s SEA 1000 Future Submarine Program.

“The IGA is the last foundation stone needed to ensure australia is able to develop a cutting edge sovereign submarine capability. It follows the selection of French company DCNS as australia’s Future Submarine design and mobilization partner and Lockheed Martin australia as the combat system integrator,” Turnbull said in a prepared statement.
http://thediplomat.com/2016/12/australia-france-sign-deal-to-build-12-submarines/

See how it compares range and loadout with Western models.
First world problems!

Hi, In Tunisia the sentiment toward the French is a bit different although they committed many crimes toward the Tunisian people and took many resources it's not comparable to what happened in Algeria or other African countries, so we do not hate them they're an important economic partner and we're a somewhat a Francophone country (a lot of voices specially from younger generations demanding to change that and replace it with English because its more practical).
about the French history we only study about the French revolution and its impact on the world and the French protectorate Tunisia

to tell you the truth, there is a certain hypocrisy in Algeria concerning this subject, if you ask in the street many will tell you that France is a former colonizer who killed millions of Algerians and stole our land for 132 years, committed the worst atrocities and methods of exterminating in mankind ect.... , in the school we fill the heads of children that France is the enemy, history studies of the war against france occupies 90% of history lessons from primary to high school , we dont study french history or even other countries history they quickly pass on some old civilizations , school history lessons are more like a propaganda than true history lessons , to strengthen the control of the old dinosaurs who rule us since 1962 because they supposedly waged the war of independence. And still have the rhetoric of a former combatant against france to try to have a certain legitimacy.

Our national anthem written during the war of independence mention until now days france by name as an enemy.

but in fact. Now days and since the independency , when you see stats, France is the first economic and commercial partner of Algeria, thousands of Algerians each year emigrate legally and illegally in France and most poeple dream of having residence or citizenship in France, . for exemple 25% of the total of foreign doctors practicing in France are Algerians.

most of the politicians who hypocritically display hatred against France have bank accounts and property in France, they spend their vacation in France. when they are sick they go to take care of themselves in France hospitals (the presidents included , like ex-president bouteflika , he had no confidence in our hospitals , fearing of being assassinated or his medical secrets exposed to public , he had much more confidence in France.

In our daily life , we speak French as a second language. in administration , french is used in the same way as Arabic in official papers even if french is not part of the official languages of algeria .

At university level, the French language is used exclusively in scientific fields and 90% of all studies . All our laws, administrative organization, it's copied paste from French laws .
the largest community of algerians with dual nationality living abroad lives in france. ( 3 to 4 millions people of Algerian origin live in France)

to summarize the closest country to Algeria in terms of economy, culture, population, politics is France. in fact, Algeria is much closer to France than it is to neighboring countries, Arabs or Africans , despite the hypocrisy displayed and empty speech. Maybe a stockholm syndrome

Maybe the Maghreb isn't included in Paris's neocolonial chokehold over their ex colonies but its REAL!

Out of these inauspicious origins came the CFA Franc, a twin set of French-backed currencies used by eight West African countries and six Central African countries.

Countries using CFA Francs are required to store 50% of their currency reserves with the Banque de France, and the currencies are pegged to the euro.

https://www.theafricareport.com/20326/the-french-colonial-tax-a-misleading-heuristic-for-understanding-francafrique/

See what Italy's ex Deputy PM said:
“If we have people who are leaving Africa now it’s because some European countries, and France in particular, have never stopped colonizing Africa.”Di Maio said France’s policies in Africa are causing people to migrate from the continent, a comment which angered Paris.
https://thisisafrica.me/politics-and-society/italys-deputy-prime-minister-says-france-creates-poverty-in-africa/

Rmbr, also Jean-Fraude has instigated coups from the beginning just after independence with an ex-FFL trooper in Togo in 1963,Africa's first, btw. Gabon, the CAR,Burkina Faso, etc, etcalmost every former colony. Civil wars have almost always accompanied French resource grabs. Congo Brazzaville's 1997-99 case was typical. Prez Lissouba won and France feared loss of Elf Aquitiane's deliberately under valued oil fields quickly armed loser Sassou Nguesso and provided training for his Cobra militia.
After 2 yrs and 30 k dead he was back in power-fyi,Africa's militarily weakest are French. Even relatively developed Cote de Ivoire had no AF of its own in 2004 allowing easily bribed Belarussian flyguys to be comprised into a casus belli allowing an unwinnable shooting war for France. I've seen pix of people here squealing at Ivorean 'specops' !? For laughs check out their army equipment-they operate a coy of T 55s!

You guys are fast becoming like the French: depending which side shows up, you can either beat everyone or lose to Georgia.
