You are correct about the APU but in Nigeria, I have had to fan myself while airbornen on more than one occasion

How is that even possible ? The plane cannot fly decompressed and when it's compressed the ACs work and even they don't work cool enough the temperature at 29 thousand feet is very cool enough for the aircraft to use to keep the cabin cool

The AC seems not working, so everyone had to help themselves by using hand-fan to blow air, while the Journey lasted. From the video, the Airline reads Arik.

This is similar to a video shared in 2014 by SaharaReporters when Banky W laments sudden Heat inside a flight from Nigeria to New York.

May God help us in this country.

All these hungry bloggers, look at how your voice even sounds like a beetle engine, exposing your ignorance and making everything to be news. You don't know that the plane needs all its power including starting with the APU to get airborne especially in this hot season that the air is thin. The AC can start when the plane has gotten to the cruising attitude. It is apparent that plane is at its maximum take off weight since people are now scared of traveling by land cos of the terrorist islamic fulani herdsmen and bandits.

Why dem no open windows and doors make breeze enter instead of using hand fan to blow air?

Aircraft doesn’t have windows that can be opened.

Sense no go Kill you grin.

For real, if the pilot descends to around 10000ft they can open a couple of windows and they'll be fine. New planes have this feature.

Except the plane na 1980s refurbished.

The window are not designed to be opened on commercial Airlines.

Only on some small planes which does not need the cruising altitude of commercial Airlines.

You are just a bit better than the guy!
The APU powers the plane while on ground, the cooling system will be working albeit not at the maximum capacity. So for passenger to be fanning themselves like that shows something is really wrong.

Nope. Even on air the same. I boarded one popular one in January this year Lagos to Asaba, then Asaba back to Lagos, it was hot. I felt uncomfortable all thru these flights... I am not kidding you. I did help myself with hand fan.
