My problem now is, what exactly is Salesforce as a company? After acquiring a certificate, will it only be eligible for me to work on Salesforce? Is it like a platform? Like can a company not registered with Salesforce employ me? I'm confused please help.

Of course, you can. Did you work with an instructor? I am asking cause if you're asking questions like what is Salesforce as a company, where is it used, etc. after acquiring an admin certificate in one of the most widely used CRM in the world, then I'm afraid even your certificate might not take you very far. Don't get me wrong. I am not trying to undermine your efforts. But the Tech industry is skill oriented and from all indications, you need more skills/knowledge than you've gotten.

Nevertheless, you're on the right path. It's a business solution. As an admin, you can work in any organization that uses the CRM to manage thier customers or as a consultant in a Salesforce partner organization that deploys the system for other client organizations.

Salesforce is a CRM used by thousands of companies globally, many which are Fortune 500 companies, doing billions in sales/revenue yearly. In recent years, as companies go lean or try to focus their engineering/IT resources and scale, there has been demand for exclusive Salesforce admin (Support, Tech) to manage their salesforce accounts, debug & fix issues etc.

So you can definitely use your Salesforce certificate anywhere (Companies that have Salesforce embedded in their processes). But if you did get a Salesforce certificate, you should actually know opportunities that abound and why you wanted the certificate in the first place.

First of all, if you can be a Salesforce developer, I advise you to do that instead of Admin.

Secondly, Salesforce is a software companies use. So many companies abroad use it. Just like many companies use Microsoft suite. If a company doesn't use it, they can't employ you.

Thirdly, trailhead can be confusing on the things to learn for a certification exam. Better get a mentor or look for experts on YouTube. You shouldn't go about learning everything you see there.

We love following trends and doing things half baked in this country, I am sure you heard about sales force here on nairaland and went ahead to read about it peripherally and now you do not know what to do with it.

A simple use case of salesforce is email to case or web to case. It can be used for automation of different processes within an organisation. Just depends on how well you are good at it , inorder to conceptualise problems into solutions using flows , E2C, path creation, etc on salesforce. For jobs, search online or LinkedIn, there are a number of remote salesforce jobs. Though, most are for developers and requires experience, you would still see some for entry level administrator.

Microsoft Dynamics is not really a single solution. I guess you're referring to Microsoft Dynamics CE formerly known as Microsoft Dynamics CRM.

Otherwise, I'd say the Dynamics suite is only second to SAP in terms popularity amongst business solutions.
