If going to church and mosque can change our country for better, then Nigeria should be the most developed country in the world. Every Sundays we all go to church every Friday we all go to mosque but when Will return what next?? When our Muslims leaders arrived from their annual pilgrimage in Mecca and Medina what next and for our Christian leaders too they also went to Vertican City some visit Pope to pray for them and they go to Jerusalem to visit all those sacred places for prayers and blessings but after all these nko? Finally, when they returned to office in Nigeria what next?? Owning workers months of salaries, pensionaires will have to sleep beg write and cry for their gratuity while some will die without getting anything. See our streets and environment in shambles government don't provide anything for the poor people instead they provide everything for themselves. Religionsity is different from human character behavior feeling and affection you have for other people. I think that what we lack as a black race. We are too adherence to religion activities in Africa but our characters and behaviour is really worse. We don't have value for quality of human life

80% of Nigerians go to church just for religion sakes. Only few end up changing their characters.
Going to church rarely changes people. Thief go still thief, gossiper go gossip, olosho go still open leg, wicked person go still wicked.
Infact going to church adds more confidence for the bad ones. They will now use God to justify their evil. The only part of the Bible they will memorize is the part that subtly condones their evil. I.e "Don't Judge", "The poor will be among you". "Touch not my anointed"

How has your church helped you in your character?

For me, I was living in bible sin when I was attending church regularly because I believed Jesus has/ will save me from my sin. But when I stopped going to church and stopped believing in Jesus, I took control of my life knowing that no one will save me but myself, I became more responsible person, and more humane.

Just to put things in context; I was walking the street recently and I saw these two goats lying down and sleeping along the same track I was walking towards. When I got to the goats I didn't want to disturb them, so I jumped over them so that I don't wake them up from their sleep. But as I jumped, they both woke up and ran away. I looked back and I felt that I have done something wrong and I said audibly "I am sorry please" without realizing what I said. However, as I walked few steps I just realized that I actually said sorry to goats!!. Then, it became clear to me that I've had a huge positive psyco-spiritual change.

I couldn't do that when I was a Christian. Why? Because religions; especially Christianity and Islam makes someone very inhumane, sinful and arrogant.

I understand some churches are corrupt like our govt , some dad's are deadbeat, some mother's are 2faced , some aunt and uncle are rapist and wayward

If you had taken your own advice, you would have understood that my question to him is how come he attributes it to his church attendance when there are so many others who developed the same habits without church in the first place.

There are no 2 ways to developing a habit. You simply commit to developing it and then you work at it - that is how we develop habits as humans -church has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Striving everyday to live a holy life. My church has really helped me to see beyond many things and to be extremely conscious of those little little things we take for granted, such as lies and unnecessary things that could lead one to hell. Showing love to everyone whether you get it in return or not.
