Please don't allow yourselves to be dragged into a north vs south fight over VAT collection. It is a trick. VAT collection is not about north vs south but about confronting our crooked federalism.
What Wike has started should not be allowed to degenerate into a north vs south fight. IT IS A TRICK.
We should rather focus on ensuring that Wike is supported especially at the court of appeal.

We must start practicing true federalism.
What Wike is advocating for, is fiscal federalism, which is a part of the true federalism we should all be fighting for.

PLEASE DON'T ALLOW WHAT WIKE HAS STARTED TO TURN INTO NORTH VS SOUTH FIGHT. It is you guys on Nairaland that I am referring to. Rather engage in discussions that can bring about true federalism(restructuring) in Nigeria.

Without true federalism(restructuring) Nigeria is not going anywhere o! If you want go and bring George Washington, Margaret Thatcher, Abraham Lincoln, Winston Churchill, the best leaders in the world, they would all fail. Because the federalism is crooked and needs to change.

Wike has lit the fire, would the fire burn out without achieving anything? A lot depends on how we the citizens respond.

Nobody ever said that rotational presidency is constitutional. It is an established political practice for unity, equity and national cohesion. It was on this basis that the north demanded for power shift in 2015 after Jonathan had completed Yaradua’s term and his own full tenure. It was also on this basis that all southern candidates who were far richer and popular nationally stepped down for Yaradua at the PDP convention in 2007.

So, saying it is unconstitutional is just playing the Ostrich. It was never about the constitution. The north has had its fair share of power from 2015-2023. Exactly on May 29, 2023, a southerner will takeover from Buhari. It is what it is and nothing can change it.

On VAT, I agree only with the part of the resolution calling for all parties to stay action till the matter is decided by the Supreme Court. VAT is a consumption tax and should never be a federal tax in the first place. However, we should all wait for the final judgement so as to avoid confusion in the system.

On open grazing, it remained banned in southern Nigeria. Livestock whatever is none of our business. Anybody that wants to go into cattle business should set up a ranch. It is as simple as that.


I just have one question for you ...if rotational presidency is not constitutional , and we believe it can serve as stabilizing factor ...why can't we then enshrine it in the constitution? Does our constitution forbids anything that brings unity ? What is the duties if our law maker if they cannot make simple laws that will keep this country United .

Any way, one way forward in Nigeria is to let north and south stand separately. It has reached a generation where north and southern Nigeria can never be one or work together. Divide the country into two. North and South has nothing in common, not in reasoning, religion, culture, education, constitution, no relating factor at all. They can't work together any more unless if South agree to be fool and keep jeopardizing with the future of their youths bc I know north can never be such fool

25% of votes in 2/3 of the number of states (in 24 states), must be won by a presidential candidate.


19 states and Abuja were created by military dictators from north in the old northern region.

But only 17 states were created in the old 2 southern regions.
North used its military dictators to unduly proliferate states in the north by wrong use of land mass or population figures as criterion. But land mass or population is never used as criterion to determine where new state can be created in a country formed by different regions.
Too many states in one region north tilted excess political power to the region.

We now use rotation of the presidency between north and the southern regions as panacea.

North has ruled Nigeria for up to 70% of the country’s existence.

Apex political power must shift to the south after PMB - common sense.

In other words, Nigeria has been Divided long ago, with the North having the Larger share of Rights and Privileges.

Anyways. I blame the Foolish Southern states leaders; Southeast, Southsouth and Southwest, who will always sellout the Future of tge Region on the platter of Greed and Selfishness.
